So Tomb Raider. Those 3 games had "Director's Cut"-version with additional levels. Are these included?
Also: there is a mod that adds the PS1-Music to the first game. I guess this one isn't included as well. :(

They were actually called the 'Gold' editions, though you're right in saying they added levels.

And if it was a fan-mod, then of course it won't be included. But then again there's nothing to stop you from adding it yourself :)

    A Mac version. Strange.

I wouldn't say of course. Didn't they include fan-mods for one of the Thief games? Or some game... I don't remember which... Well, if they didn't, they at least gave link to that, so... They kinda include that stuff :D

The New Rising Sun patches were added to the Quest for Glory games, and probably the other Sierra stuff with timer troubles.

I guess I'll say something as they are ACTUALLY having a sale. 50% off Ubisoft this weekend. Beyond, Rayman, AC and whatforth.

Since I was raised on 3 digit mathematical representation, I'll point out that it's technically a 49.9% sale.

I must agree with Vainmoinen on this point. This game is a must play.

EA has released the Worlds of Ultima games, both Savage Empire and Martian Dreams, for the low, low price of free. And there's a special announcement coming in just a little over an hour. Hopefully it's not "EA is pulling all of their games from our service and launching Origin Classics, selling the same games that we sold, but they need Origin to run."

Agreed. 'Beyond Good & Evil' is one of the greatest pieces of art and fiction I have ever experienced.
  • edited June 2012
That sounds like something EA would do.

That really is pretty cool. Plus, there's no real loser, since both get discounted whichever wins. Awesome.

EA owns Myst? I thought Ubisoft did. Or does EA own Ubisoft these days?
  • edited June 2012
It doesn't. The Summer promo (i.e. the special announcement) is GOG's thing, not EA's (although if there will be an EA game in it, I guess it kinda makes it partially EA's). What I'm saying that it encompasses all publishers.

hey was fallout 1 ever free on GoG? I for whatever reason have it in my games list, and I never bought it on that website.

    Yes it was.

Day 1's winner was Myst. There is no justice in the world. It wasn't even realMyst! Gah!

Day 2 is the Alone in the Dark trilogy (the first three games) vs. Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy).

I've been playing the new "Tiny & Big" GOG game for an hour right now, and it just fails to entertain me. Also, the nonexistent save system is a real nuisance. Casual players be damned...

    Maybe tomorrow. ;)

Alone in the Dark is a masterpiece. Peeps have no taste. Also pick up Worlds of Ultima 1 and 2 if you haven't already. They're fabulous and I wish their settings would see a modern RPG redo.

But it wasn't given away free. You still had to buy it, but it was $0.00.

If you buy something and do not pay for it, it's free. ;)

I personally love the game. The checkpoint system really sucks though. Just save whenever I pick up an item or crush one of the mole-thingies. Aaaaaargh.
Also: after 100 minutes in level 1 I'd actually like to know where the damned 4th stone is. :D

Day 2's winner was Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy. Because after all - why get three great games when you could just get the one above-average one instead?

Day 3 is Serious Sam: The Second Encounter vs Postal 2.

I guess Jesse Cox might have had his hand in there via Twitter. But. It's actually the better choice. Say what you will I really enjoyed that game. AITD 1-3 not so much.

Second attempt today, disappointed again unfortunately. It's a nice game somehow, but I already mentioned the save system - and have now stumbled over this arcade machine mini game. Showed me a pattern to recreate once, for about 2 seconds. Consequently, I failed immediately, tried to die to restart (because, of course!, you don't get a second chance), and that didn't work. That's just sloppy design.

Game gets a third chance however. Hey, I'm a giver! :D

    Okay. Well:
    1. the patern is on the wall to your left (and to your right).
    2. you can always just leave the room through the door for loosers behind you.
    3. you can retry as many times as you wish by pressing the reset button. Default "O" (not zero)

(took me about 10 tries to get it right)

Bad points so far: Save system. Getting caught in the corners of the 1st level, unable to get out.

    Edit: Found all
four Rocks, the arcade, both tapes, the bullzeye achievement and the god on Level 1 now.

Already got it, although I have yet to install it. Too busy working on my own projects to be playing games.
