Also, while it's not my cup of tea, Arma II itself should be heavily respected for it's staunch commitment to painstakingly realistic military simulation. People who say "Meh" to Arma II really can't possibly have any idea what they're talking about, it at least deserves detached respect.
So, tomorrow is allegedly "the day". The day Ultima 9 comes out, and the day that the GOG forums explod into a back and forth of "What's a Paladin?" and "BETRAYAL!".

Well, as was mentioned before, one of the releases today is Ultima IX: Ascension. We also have Lands of Lore 3, both at $5.99. However, they're also running a sale on the Ultima Collection where you can get all the non-free games for 30%-50% off, Ascension included.
Minor threadjack here, but if everyone could go to the GOG wishlist entry for The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime and vote for it, that'd be super cool. Presto Studios is considering porting it to PC if interest is high enough.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled GOG Gem Promo, which I'm pretty sure is Myst V: End of Ages.
We've got another bunch of releases from that "Tall Tale Games" company, or whatever they're called. Apparently they also made a Wallace and Gromit game, a THIRD Sam and Max game, and a Back to the Future game. They're also running a sliding sale, between 50% and 70% off if you buy all three. And a fourth release today, they also have Mutant Mudds for $9.99, or the launch sale price of $7.99.
   No soundtrack for Devil's Playhouse
Here go my hopes and dreams.
In my opinion, that's probably for the best, anyway. As far as I know, the existing digital soundtracks are still GOG exclusive, and that's a disappointment. Can you imagine the reaction if the TDP soundtrack were given exclusively to people who bought the game on a different service, and not on here?
Today's new releases are Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 for $5.99, thus making the first Blood Omen the only LoK game not on the service. Also, Startopia for $5.99, which sounds like Sim City, INNNNN SPAAAAAAAAACE. And a price drop because "why not", you can now get The Witcher 2 for $29.99.
Wednesday edit: Today's Gem Promo is King's Bounty for $3.99. Also, the official release of Inquisitor for $14.99.
Thursday edit: From the makers of The Whispered World, we have Deponia for $19.99, or $14.99 during the first week of release. There is also Worms 2 for $5.99. They also made it a note to say that this version of Worms 2 doesn't have online multiplayer.
Completely unfinished, loads of bugs, most of them connected to the TWO ridiculous copy protection systems. GOG and Steam versions are probably patched OK; my retail version is basically still unplayable.
I'm very tempted by Resonance. Can anyone else confirm it's good?
It's good. Maybe not as good as Gemini Rue, but the story feels pretty fleshed out, some of the puzzles are pretty clever and I think it's got several endings. There's also several achievements that are probably going to require another play-through if that's your thing.

Steam version still has laggy videos but works fine otherwise.
No idea about the GoG version.
And why didn't you enjoy the copy protection of TWW. Didn't it use those 2 dice?

Achievements? On GOG? I think you've been playing the Steam version!
Short version: 1. Complete the survey below.
2. Enter your correct e-mail address.
3. Get a copy of Realms of Arkania 1+2 sent to you via mail next week.
4. If you own RoA 1+2 you can gift it to a friend!
It's a pretty cool idea to get people to do this, but they'd need something more interesting than a pair of RPGs no-one ever heard of before to tempt me into it. Then again, that's probably why they have those games, so...
You've heard about every game ever made, so you don't count.
This isn't true. Pre-N64 console gaming contains a really massive blind spot for me, and there are entire genres(Japanese RPGs and vehicle/agricultural sims, for instance) where my knowledge is pretty pathetically low. And arcades, the entire history of arcades as a video game medium, is pretty much lost to me except in the broadest strokes.
I have a higher-than-average knowledge of Computer/Western RPGs, turn-based strategy games(on PC), Adventure games(on PC), and the english-speaking Independent scene from 2005 onwards. Indie scenes that I don't know about include things like the convention/hobby shop-backed Japanese indie scene, which is largely pushed along by Comiket and is something I'm only really peripherally aware of, partially because English sources on it are at best extremely scant and disjointed from each other.
I had no idea what these games were, but I figure this is a good time to find out. I mean, it cost me about five minutes of my time to get them and now I get to try them out for free!
So today, we have Urban Chaos. I have NO idea what this is, but it sounds like a third-person shooter version of Police Quest. And... that's it for now. Maybe we'll see something go up for pre-order later.

No. People have opinions and they are entitled to them. And I agree. Meh.
Maybe. Spoony should put a banner up for it. XD

Well if that's stealing, these are sure to be grand larceny. The weekend deal is 50% off indie adventure games. Included in this bundle are Resonance, Gemini Rue, The Blackwell Bundle, The Whispered World, Machinarium and Botanicula.

(a) the only copy protection used
(b) functional and
(c) didn't have to be repeated again and again after each of the numerous numerous crashes,
then yes, I probably would have liked it a lot!
Thanks. I'll probably pick it up then.
No. They are actually in the main menue of the game.
