How'd it get rouge out of eyeliner?

Okay, okay, that one was a stretch

Makes about as much sense as all the other supposed autocorrect blunders.

Today brings us the Catacombs pack, a collection of the fantasy FPS series "Catacombs", as well as the John Carmack original, for $5.99. So yes, this is probably the closest we'll ever get to having id on GOG, since apparently Zenimax is deeply phobic of selling their stuff anywhere without full Steam integration. Or something like that, I dunno. Where was I... oh yeah, the update. Square Enix once again graces us with a game that they didn't make, and probably just obtained in the Eidos acquisition. I'm talking about Omikron: The Nomad Soul from Quantic Dream for $9.99. Press space bar to "JASON"!

    Close... it's actually:

It's the most appropriate Quantic Dream joke I could come up with. Would you prefer if I asked if it had horrible voice acting?

Another Friday, another strategy game bundle from GOG. 60% off Enlight games, including a bunch of stuff that just got price dropped. Whatever, wake me when the Sierra stuff goes on sale.

Oh, before I go, here's This Week on GOG for a recap and a clue. The clue is the exact same as last week so... ooooooooo.

Edit: Oh, and please take this survey. If you don't... well, one of the questions on the survey pretty much amounts to "Would you mind if we made certain exceptions to our no-DRM policy?"

Thanks for the heads up. No, GOG. BAD GOG.

No fucking exceptions EVER on the DRM freedom.
  • edited March 2013
Here's the GOG.com thread for the survey:
    http://www.gog.com/forum/general/new_gaming_options_on_gog_we_want_to_hear_from_you

Feel free to tell them what you think about their including DRM.

The Monday Gem Promo this week is Anachronox at 60% off.

Edit: Haven't had one of these in a while. Who's ready for an off-day release? You can pick up Shattered Haven for the launch price of $7.49. I... have no idea what this is... they say it's some kind of horror game but... I dunno.
  • edited March 2013
I cannot emphasise enough how much people need to own Anachronox.

Got it on the last sale and loved it until inundated with work. Speaking of sales, how's Capitalism?

Today's only release is Clive Barker's Clive Barker's Undying (by Clive Barker). This $5.99 shooter comes to us from EA, proving that the worst company in America is still capable of doing nice things out of the kindness of their PR department. Apparently this is a highly wanted game, or something.
  • edited March 2013
You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Clive Barker one day comes with Clive Barker's Clive Barker, a Clive Barker game by Clive Barker, where you play as Clive Barker who has to battle against Clive Barker. All in a town called Clive Barker.
  • edited March 2013
I'd buy that for a dollar.

    Not enough name dropping.

    Undying is a great game.

Now that Incredipede has made it's way to Steam, you can get it for $9.99 for today only as part of GOG's Indie Gem Promo.
  • edited March 2013
Hey look, it's another EA game on GOG. This time, it's Syndicate Wars for $5.99. Gee, with all these long requested old games, it's almost like EA is trying to make up for something. Also, Anodyne is available now for the launch price of $7.49. As is the case with most indie games, I have no idea what this is.
  • edited March 2013

I bought this for a dollar during their Greenlight campaign. It's really really good, largely analogous to if 2D Zelda games had a baby with the atmosphere of the Mother/Earthbound series. It should be hitting Steam soon as well, as it has been Greenlit.
  • edited March 2013
God, now you mention it, I'm pretty sure I got this for $1 too. Worth more than that, too.
  • edited March 2013
I swear, if this is another strategy bundle... *checks* OK, it's a publisher bundle. It's the Atari! Atari bundle; 60% off pretty much everything published by Atari. Also, you can pre-order Eador: Masters of the Broken World for $19.99. If you pre-order, you get a free copy of Eador: Genesis. If you already HAVE Eador: Genesis, you get a 10% discount on MotBW instead. Finally, check out This Week on GOG for a recap and clue. Your clue is misspelled and abbreviated title.

$1.59 for Outcast is piratically theft.

$1.59 for Outcast is piratically theft.
It's may not have aged fantastically well, but it's still an oddly engaging and engrossing game. $1.59 is a fantastic price for it and if you don't buy it (or already own it), then you lose any respect I may have had for you.

Oh, and some of the other games are good as well. I guess. Meh.

Not to mention there are some mods for Outcast to play it at higher resolutions (see the GOG subforum for Outcast).

Whoops. Little late on the update today. Oh well, I don't think anyone will notice. The Classic Gem Promo is 60% off Stronghold Crusader HD, which is technically a new game that's technically an old game.
  • edited March 2013
Why did GOG start giving us the teased game on Tuesday? Oh well, today brings us Krush, Kill 'N Destroy 2: Krossfire for $5.99. I guess it's like the same game as the first. We've also got Strike Commander, also for $5.99. I get the sinking feeling this has nothing to do with the Rambo 2 ripoff movie starring Reb Brown.
  • edited March 2013
Why does that give you a sinking feeling?

Because I was half asleep and I needed a joke to go with Strike Commander.

Hey, so, Indie Gem Promo this week is Pid. Looks like a platformer, I dunno. I know very little when it comes to certain indie games. Also, Lucius got an update. Probably along with some other stuff, but Lucius is the only one I own that got an update.

Edit: Another anniversary sale. Get 60% off both Blitzkrieg Anthology and Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology until the end of the month.

In an astounding move, today's game is in fact NOT published by EA, or one of the smaller devs that EA has assimilated over the years. You can pick up Pathologic, the mid-2000s action/adventure with RPG elements with a Russian setting, though not a Russian version is seems, for only $9.99.
  • edited March 2013
First Person Adventure? NOOO! I was on board until then!

Hear that? That's the sound of another publisher bundle making its way to GOG this weekend. Sorry, I got lost in the nostalgia of publisher bundles, that got lost under the sea of endless strategy bundles. Anyway, this week gives us 60% off TopWare titles, including Jack Orlando, Jagged Alliance 2, the Earth 2100 titles and Two Worlds. Anyone know if Two Worlds is worth the 4 bucks?

Here's This Week on GOG for a recap and new game clue. Your clue is "adventure and strategy in the barren north". And it's a classic release, so it's probably not King's Bounty, as a helpful Youtube commenter points out.

Anyone know if Two Worlds is worth the 4 bucks?
I tried the demo. Based on that, I'd say no.

Introducing the RetroMator 4000, a new program by the fine folks at GOG that converts modern games into retro-fied versions of themselves, or even super retro text-adventures! Do you think Alan Wake would be more enjoyable as a retro, 16-bit shooter with no rebounding health and unlimited weapon slots? RetroMator has you covered! But hurry up, this service is likely going to disappear tomorrow!

Oh, and get ready for a contest, as GOG celebrates 11,111 subscribers on Youtube by giving away 111 free games to them. You have until next monday to subscribe and be entered to win.

Oh, and I think the Classic Gem Promo this week is supposed to be Spellforce: Platinum.

I knew waiting until later in the day to update would pay off. Check out Signal Ops, a recently released indie game where you control a squad of secret agents, and control them all from a first person perspective. It's $11.99 for the first week of sale. But maybe if you want something classic-ish, you can check out Culture's 3+4, which seems to be the hinted at game, for only $9.99.
  • edited April 2013
Woah, I am LATE on the update today. Well, for the next few hours, you can get Strike Suit Zero for 40% off. Also, until the 8th, you can get half off Omerta: City of Gangsters, and it comes with a free copy of The Con Artist DLC which caused so much of an uproar when it launched.
  • edited April 2013
Sorry for not updating yesterday, but really, it doesn't look like anyone noticed. Releases were Evoland, the charming little "Final Fantasy through-the-ages" game, for the launch price of $8.99. Also, check out The Cat Lady, a point-and-click adventure where you are a crazy cat lady that must cleanse the city of evil, for the launch price of $7.49.

The weekend deal features the return of the D&D stacking promo. Buy more games, get more off, up to 80%. Really, the only difference between this and others is that this time, they're offering Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete in the bundle, which is a much more reasonable four dollars if you've got all the rest of the games. Which I do because of a previous D&D bundle.

Here's This Week on GOG for your news recap and next week clue. It's "egoism and hubris as you work against your collective."
  • edited April 2013
Ah, but what happens if you only want the two Neverwinter Nights games? Then you barely get any real discount at all. Never liked these 'discount stacking' deals, especially when the amount you can save varies by SO MUCH.

You still get 45% off, which is still a pretty good deal.

    I don't see the problem.
