Ugh, I have been waiting for a sale on Telltale's older games for a while, but I don't want to have part of the games here on the website and part on GOG. And part of whatever new games they release on others platforms. GOG doesn't even have Strong Bad. I think I'll just wait for the inevitable Steam Summer sale.

I caved and at least bought Season 1 & 2. I'll probably even start the Season 2 playthrough today, or at least an episode of it (after that Eador game which I bought yesterday turned out to be rather crappy - or maybe it's just not my kind of game...).

SEASON 4 NOW!!!
I got that Eador game too. (The remake your talking about right?)
And yeah, it looks like a rushed and buggy release, but I've played through the tutorial, and I thought it was alright, gameplay-wise.
(though I hear past the tutorial the game has a bug which hinders progress through the campaign, so I'm going to leave it for now till it gets fixed)
(Might play some Heroes of Might and Magic or Kings Bounty for now though, while the game eventually gets patched up)
Classic Gem Promo of the week is the entire Gothic series. It's on a sliding scale, running from 50%-75% off, so you save more when you buy more. Well, not really, all the sale prices are exactly the same, so each one you remove brings the total price down. Also, now you can pre-order Fez for only $8.99. Maybe you can use that one dollar you save to upgrade your spreadsheet machine to be able to play this beast of a game.

Regardless of the creator's attitude about the PC, Fez is an absolutely amazing game.
Someone over at GOG goofed on the day. It's Tuesday, not Friday. So we should have a release, not a sale. But, for some reason, we have no releases, and a sale. Not even a good sale, 20% off a random mish-mash of games that just received Mac support. I guess they only have Don't Starve to release today, and won't be releasing that until much later in the day. I think GOG needs a massive store wide sale so they can take a break from releases, and build up a backlog.
- Crusader: No Regret
- Gemini Rue
- Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition 1+2
- Pinball Gold Pack
- Primordia
- Stronghold HD
- The 7th Guest
- Torchlight
- Total Annihilation Commander Pack
Alright, a couple hours late but we have the new release. Which, again, is Don't Starve, for the launch price of $11.99. You know, GOG, if you don't have anything else lined up for release, you could just say "we have nothing lined up today", we'd understand.
Sorry for missing yesterday's update, but I really couldn't write up a post without editorializing about my thoughts on GOG's releases as of late... So let's get caught up with the 4X space game Space Empires 4 Deluxe for $9.99. Also check out Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition for the launch price of $9.99. I think it's better than Two Worlds, but that's really not a high bar to reach.
Now that we're all caught up, let's talk about the weekend sale. It's 50% off a random mish-mash of games. Check out stuff like Fahrenheit, Dangerous Dave, Hotline Miami and more.
And it's time for This Week in GOG, with a recap and hint. Your hint is that the game should have come out six months ago, or 37 years from now. Not sure what it's supposed to be, but the fine folks over at GOG are saying that their May releases this year are mindblowing, so...
If only my last gog purchase had not been such a disappointment... yeah, gog needs some mind blowing releases REALLY soon.
There was a certain Sci-Fi strategy game remake which came out in October last year (that would be the six months) which was set in the future - probably not those entire 37 years though. I had my eyes on this one very much, but it was rather clear that it would only be on Steam.
Well, let's not jinx and name it before gog crushes all hope. (Was hoping for the new X-com, but the speaker [who has quite the cold!!] says "classic release". Fuck damn.)
It is one of those games what got royally screwed over by reviewers and back then reviewers word meant so much more. I still have my retail box of the game with disc.
Your classic Gem Promo of the week is Painkiller Black Edition. And to once again avoid editorializing about GOG's definition of the word "classic", I'll end it here.
And now I want to know what incredibly bad non-xcom-game this shitty hint is.
People have already decoded the hint to mean Subwar 2050. See, because it could come out six months ago (which is apparently a reference to The Hunt for Red October) or 37 years from now (the 2050 referenced in the title).

Well, better get that out tomorrow. Because, you know, mind blowing May releases.
What is with all the early morning database errors? Just an early morning flood of people checking the forums to see with there's new Walking Dead information? Ugh... whatever, back on topic. Today's lone release thus far is The Great Battles: Collector's Edition. It comes with the Alexander the Great, Hannibal and Caesar campaigns, and is only $5.99.

You've probably just hit the daily maintenance that's been mentioned several times elsewhere. It goes on for an hour each day with random minor downtimes for hours afterwards. It's a real annoyance for Europeans as it's in the middle of the day, but probably goes on largely unnoticed by the American user base.

For the American users it happens around 4, 3, or 2 AM depending on time zone.

THERE ARE SWINGS AS WELL?!!? O.o
And, well, I never had much against a proper disc check as long as it's not Starforce or somesuch other nonsense.
But is there a Kings Quest IX? And if so, was it released between III and V?
But yes, it did bother me a bit.

Well let's hope the game works with Excel 2003.
You're still using that old thing? Google Spreadsheets is where it's at.
It should be interesting to see how much not being able to experience the ARG will affect the PC version, though.
Best office to date. Sure I'm still using it.
I am not giving my documents to Google. Sorry but no!
GOG is running a fez contest for Fez. Like, you can win an actual Fez-themed fez. Awesome.
Ugh.
it's #3 in the German store. #4 if you look in a foreign store. I wonder what that means.
Edit: Feel free to move the Fez Steam discussion to the steam thread. Since I already complained about the EU prices over there.

Fez on May 1st.:D Plese tell me you own a gamepad.
Also La-Mulana is great. (again with a pad)
Funny you bring that up, that was part of the editorializing I decided to skip.
If you don't see Civ5 over there don't get your hopes up for the new X-COM. Both are Steam exclusives on PC I'm afraid.
8 to 10 years old, of course that can be a classic.
20, that would be antique.
30, prehistoric.
