Well, Looking at the poll it seems everyone's best bet is the 5th, 6th, 8th, and the 12th. And of course the ever popular "when hell freezes over"!!! I am excited for what the next couple of days bring. I voted for today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

since we wont be playing the walking dead today, everyone can catch the transit of venus at 6pm eastern time. venus will move across the face of the sun, dont ask me how to see it, but i wouldnt recommend staring directly at the sun. once in a lifetime event people(unless you saw the last one), wont happen again until 2177

I have no problem waiting, I have no problem w/ delays and I most certainly can be patient but only when we actually have some insight as to what the problem really is.

This is probably some of the worst customer service I've seen says the release of Dead Island. You've got potential here Telltale and you've got some nice paying customers supporting you and backing you up but when you go silent and say nothing, THAT'S when people have a problem.

All I can say is the more you keep your mouth shut TTG, the worse your future will be w/ it's customers.

I missed it but I'll catch the next one in 2177, I think episode 5 gets released the same week.

After playing Episode 1 i cant wait for Episode 2. But i would like to make a prediction. I hope that you can become Cems father, of course not in Episode 2, but i hope in the last Episode, and i also hope that you have to make certain actions to make that happen (so not everbody has this ending). Why do i hope that is going to happen? Because Clems father is dead/undead (he was bitten). Clem would be sad, but Lee, as always, would take care for her.

Would be nice. But..The protagonist is a black guy. He is doomed. I'm guessing ep 5 or the end of ep 4 he'll get bit. And you'll have to decide if you want to tell every one or hide it so you can by time to get Clem to safety. Just a guess, might not happened like that. But regardless there will be no happy endings. Just a lease horrible one.

I wish to be a part of the K.I.Q.C.S. because I love Clem and will protect her with my life. LONG LIVE QUEEN CLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the walking dead game is awesome. its like an interactive comic book that can be different every time u read (play)

one huge downfall is the insane waiting periods between episodes. i can see having it like every 2 weeks or maybe even every 3 weeks but over a month already and still no episode two.

i beat the first episode the day it came out. and just for kicks i beat it again about 2 days later. the thing that frustrates me about the crazy long waiting periods is that 8 or 9 out of 10 of my character choices r bound to be forgotten.

ina game thats mainly story based entertainment, remembering most of ur choices is important. i cant be the only one that wont remember a good portion of choices. sure i could replay episode one whenever episode 2 finally comes out but by playing it again odds r you wont make the exact choices u made before thus making the actually story line ur creating kind of jumbled in ur head. and what about another month and a half or so when episode 3 comes out? am i really suppose to remember the little details i told other characters in the game about my character way back in episode one which by then will b 3-3 1/2 months later? or i again could replay episode 1 and 2 thus once again involuntarily changing some character choices.

im most likely gunna wait the 6 or 7 months till all episodes r out to play the entire thing together. waiting over a month per episode is just way too long ina game thats story drivin by ur choices.

before you go did you do any reasearch ? did you email ttg ? did you buy other ttg games before this one ? And where you aware of the sop that is two months between ep1 and ep2 ? and e3 ?

    scarface:

They will not release any episode earlier than one month / 4 weeks that is their standard operating procedure, Unless they are going to give in to all the complaints...(unlikely)

And i will assume a 'previously on the walking dead' vid will play to remind you what you did.. bttf did that...

^^ Been a little more than 4 weeks, just saying. And if they plan on taking more than a month between episodes, then why not say that from the beginning?
  • edited June 2012
Perhaps they should have picked a company that could fulfill the promises made? I love the game, but I would have rather waited to buy the first episode when they were ready to make good on the releases. They could have waited to release it at all instead of making empty promises. On May 22nd they posted(the newest post) that it would be about 2 weeks. Here it is 2 weeks later and no word. Waiting 2+ months to play 2(ish) hours of a game at a time? Getting frustrating. I believe they erred in choosing TellTale IMO.

the 2 weeks that was mentioned was when E3 would be not the release of episode 2 but yea i am starting to get really frustrated also i hope they release it soon like now would be nice ;)

nd where you aware of the s.o.p that is two months between ep1 and ep2 ? bttf did that...

    E3 yes.

Now as for why ttg are doing the game as far as i know they wanted to do it a year or so ago not long after bttf but had plans to make jurassic park...and talked with robert kurkman is it ? the guy behind the whole caboodle of the walking dead.

Ever think about that hmm ? they 'may' of been chosen ( again with the repeating stuff ) comics episodic, tv show episodes, game ? = use a company that makes episodic games?! = no brainer..

true other companies could of done it as a whole release but with left 4 dead, dead island and cod's zombies the mass market is saturated with the same old stuff

ttg have taken it on to do something different.

I'm very disappointed in the lack of concern Telltale Games has shown their current customers. For those of us that have chosen to purchase season passes; we purchased them under the terms that TT would release each episode MONTHLY...I would love to see someone from TT just issue a simple statement to its season pass customers. Had I known that TT couldn't hold true to their word I simply would not have purchased the season pass. I feel not only is TTGames stepping on the toes of their longtime fans, but now they stand to lose their current influx of new fans. I understand that bugs can deter the release of just about any game; but don't promise things you can't deliver. It's common sense to stand behind your word when conducting ANY sort of business, and I find it a little pathetic that a statement couldn't have been released to notify customers who have waited patiently for the next episode of the game. I'm not asking TT to release a game that is full of bugs etc. but again DO NOT PROMISE WHAT YOU CANNOT DELIVER! When you say monthly I expect to see results...monthly. It would be the same concept had I purchased a monthly magazine subscription. I just find it in really poor taste to ignore your fans completely; but I'm sure that is of no concern to TTGames. They sure didn't mind taking our money upfront! This will be my last purchase from this particular company. I have e-mailed TTGames, and of course no response. Not even a generated response. Next time I'll just stick to what I know and go purchase my games from GameStop; at least I know I won't have to wait OVER month to play the next part of the game! Hmm..and just to think I had enough faith to give the adventure games a chance. GameInformer will be receiving an e-mail from me since they chose to write about adventure games last issue...I'll be sure to write about my experience with TTGames.

I'm with Lady Leopard on this one. Just all around disappointment out of this entire experience. Glad to know I'm not the only customer they're ignoring! I'm trying to get a refund for my season pass.

it sounds so petty when you say I won't be buying again from ttg..

After a million plus in sales yes i understand the 2 month gap is not confirmed or denied ep 2 will be out in june and i will assume E3 will confirm more details.

now have any of you recent posters new members looked up info on ttg before buying? you will get the 5 episodes when they are ready, life isn't always black and white, so the plan to release an episode each month was a plan it was not set in concrete..

The game isn't 100% complete either if it was they would be on TIME.

Now another theory about why we have no updates SINCE the june screen from the playing dead/ game trailer. it's as if they had a plan to go to e3 set up a booth and give out info. BUT if they splashed it all over the interweb ? that would leave them with nothing to say and MORE complaints about giving out the same old information. yes it is a bit backwards keeping there mouths shut. and i understand peoples reactions but common sense, a bit of research before buying and then there's the 2 month rest period.. which they need so they can fullfill the ep3 onwards monthly release..check out the back to the future game forum on this web page and you'll see this ain't much different...

You can try for a refund but is it really going to be worth waiting 6-7 months for it ? because ttg and steam won't be giving it back unless the game is cancelled and then it won't be the full amount as you have got and played ep1.

principle of not getting 'what you paid for ?' you paid for 5 episodes with the season pass. and the release 'dates' are open to change but because of the episodic nature People do take everything at face value..

    SIMPLY put they cannot win.

    Amen, brother

The communication with the customers regarding the walking dead have been beyond horrible, to find out that telltale could not deliver a monthly release in a preview of episode 2 and not in an official statement on the forums is in my opinion unacceptable. And still there have been no official word from telltale about it.

This mixed with the release mix-up of episode 1 really turned me off from preordering from telltale again, which is a shame because the game itself is great.

Subject says it all. We are over a month now since episode I release. Are we not going to be able to rely on a schedule like they said? A monthly release doesn't mean "oh about 30-60 days".

Not meaning to come off rough but waiting a month and trying to keep your attention on the story line is already tough enough. You lose interest and the excitement waiting this long.

I've been buying games from telltale pretty much as long as they've been selling them, and having dropped by the site to see where they are with epII I'm really quite surprised there's been no word from them about the delay. It's certainly not the end of the world, but I'd have thought that a company such as telltale that relies so heavily on the goodwill of it's customers to pre-pay for games by the season would be more on the ball with it's customer relations.

I had a bit of a scout round their sites for any word on the matter and the only things relating to a release schedule are
    1. Episodes will be released monthly
    2. Episode 1 is expected soon - It's coming up fast!

Seriously - their FAQ still lists Ep1 as upcoming:rolleyes:

I've been a happy telltale customer for many years, but I'm a bit disappointed in them this time round, tbh:(

EDIT - In fact, to dredge up the direct info from the Walking Dead FAQs...
Why is this game episodic? What does that mean?
    • Telltale has a strong history of releasing episodic games but more importantly, we wanted this game to offer an experience analogous to the comic books and TV show, which are also episodic in nature. We have plans for 5 episodes, releasing once per month.
When will episode one of the game be available?
    • We’re saying ‘Spring’, however, episode one is right around the corner. This thing is coming fast!

    *Sigh...*

I don't have a problem waiting for episodes per se, despite the FAQs being pretty specific about episodes releasing once per month. Delays happen for many reasons, and I'm pretty sure telltale haven't merely withheld episode 2 to annoy people.

That said, I do have a problem with them not making any mention of the delay. They're a company that relies heavily on the goodwill of their customer base to pre-order by the season, and what they're currently doing is pretty poor from a customer relations perspective.

All I really expect is a few words of explanation at this point, nothing more. It's really quite disappointing they've not been forthcoming with some information, and rather perplexing that they'd tarnish their reputation like this.

This may surprise you, but a lot of companies value customer complaints as a means of planning service improvements. I've no particular axe to grind with anyone here, but it seemed worth mentioning as you seem quite vocal in your complaints about people complaining.
Customers always have the right to express an opinion - it's entirely the service provider's choice whether they ignore those opinions or not *shrug*

Let's not forget that a June release was announced midway through the month of May(Accolades Trailer). If we should expect to hear anything from TellTale regarding Episode 2's release, it's at their E3 presentation tomorrow, June 6. Hopefully we can expect a release date the following week.
  • edited June 2012
Ah, now that's useful - I didn't know a later release had been mentioned in one of their trailers rather than written info. Thanks:)

What I'm secretly hoping for in a best-case scenario is that it transpires they've sold far more subscriptions than expected, and they've now got the financial resources to add some extra polish to future episodes. Not that I'm saying the first one lacked polish - I loved it.

Seems to me that TTG are just bloody rude and think they can do as they please. They have their customers by the short and curlies and are pulling them hard. by not giving out information on the release date of episode 2 this is bad customer service. You would not put up with this from other company's so why the hell are you happy sit back and do nothing when TTG do it. they won't keep the 1 Million customers that they are if this continues. I will not be buying any more games from TTG.
