so IGN says episode 2 "should" be out at the end of the month. another site says that telltale is "hoping" to release at the end of the month, not really what i call a definitive date when they are not sure when it will come out so that could mean that maybe its coming out the end of June or maybe not arrrg!!
cant they just give us a date i mean really its getting ridiculous.

Will get a date when they get one from sony and xbox agreeing to sell their game.

I must be dating myself...I remember when fandom for computer games was actually beneficial. There was a time when I was proud to be in a Fallout community for instance. I remember the Lionhead Studios community, particularly with the game The Movies, was also outstanding.

Nowadays though...people seem to join forums to lash out on the developers. I would check out the Bioware forums and shake my head. People seem to think that developers are Santa Claus...that they will wake up Christmas morning and see their lovely new toy precisely under the tree where it needs to be.

Games are more like the 40 weeks of pregnancy your mother/wife/girlfriend/zombie? went through. The doctors can only give an approximation. If the doctor says, "Your son will be born in mid-September!" and suddenly your wife/you go into labor in late September or bright and early October...do you scream at your wife, threaten to never have sex/impregnate her again? Start yelling at her parents for producing a shameful monster that can't do anything right?

    I certainly hope not.

Art...takes time. Some artists are perfectionists. Look at Blizzard. They'll sit on a game for ten years before it comes out. Some artists...are very productive, but they produce nothing but crap. I'd say look at Call of Duty, but you know...that's definitely my opinion and I don't expect anyone to share in that.

For the folks that are upset about going the month of May without getting able to play The Walking Dead Episode 2...I applaud your zeal and desire to play the game. But I also question your logic. The first episode was amazing. Why are you so impatient and why on earth would you want to rush the developers to give you something less than amazing?

Personally...Telltale games always seem a bit wonky on my PC. Jurassic Park kept crashing when I had it in full screen and tried adjusting my resolution, for instance. I had to put it in windows mode and then adjust the resolution to prevent the game from crashing.

I think I had similar problems with The Walking Dead. I also had issues with the game unable to make its mind between controller mode and keyboard and mouse. I lost some of those quick time things simply struggling with what key to push. And also I do believe the cursor sometimes disappeared completely or Lee would suddenly be compelled to move towards the right...for no reason.

I have a feeling if the game was "delayed" they wouldn't have had those issues. So in all honestly I would have rather waited longer.

That may seem like blasphemy to some people. To each their own I guess. But I am shocked and appalled by all the people finding it necessary to vent their agitation on the lack of an episode 2 when there was NEVER a concrete release date.

Telltale aint Saint Nick, people. The bun is in the oven. You might not be able to see the timer, but you'll know when it dings.

I can dig being a part of a fun gaming community, Starcraft 2 has been one I've been a part of.

The BioWare (ME3) situation is pretty different, it's a complicated subject but it's not something I'd fault the consumers for. They were told specifics about a product that were false and were rightly angry when it turned out to be different than the advertisements.

Your pregnancy analogy is a bit out there as well, haha. You can be in constant communication with that doctor and receive updates on the situation. They aren't going to give you a date then ignore your calls.

The main issue, in my opinion, is lack of communication. I believed this to be a monthly product. It's not, and while I'm somewhat indifferent about it, I understand why others are pretty upset. The fact that the consumers are learning an expected ETA from third parties doesn't help the matter either. Most of the anger and frustration could have been culled if TellTale had taken the time to address their fans/consumers.

This is still the internet though and there will always be haters and fan boys, you being part of a gaming community of any kind should've known this by now. Blizzard has some insane ones (at least on the Broodwar/SC2 side).

Also, labeling something art doesn't mean it gets a free pass from consumer backlash when it's a product that's not meeting expectations.

Either way, have a good one.

End of June? Bugger that. I've lost patience and now choosing to forget about this game. This is a deliberate delay by Telltale as I'm quite certain that Episode 2 would have been finished in development before Episode 1 was even released.

Until it releases. Welcome to the gaming world. Games get delayed for unforeseeable reasons. In fact, TTG is one of the best at keeping their customers happy in that regard. Remember SWTOR? Delayed 2 years? And it still wasn't ready at launch? Put it in perspective and just calm the f*ck down.

Dont get me wrong(And i'm writing 'dont get me wrong' in the beginning of almost every post so that people understand that i'm not mad when i'm writing) but the way it seems to me, you are the one that needs to calm down. Also i dont think its right to compare it with other games, if you put a deadline yourself then meet that deadline, if you cannot meet that deadline because of a problem then say something, dont just write 'JUNE' at the end of a trailer, make an apology, it's not THAT hard to say something, just a little, tiny apology... I cant talk about the customer support for BTTF or Jurassic Park because i dont know about it but it doesnt matter to me if they were excellent or bad with the customer support of those games because no matter what happened in the past games, you should be better or as good as you were with the customer support of those games. So, i agree with you about the 'pointlessly complaining' part but i dont agree with the other parts. Even if every company delays their games you should still live up to your promise. It's wrong to make a comparison. (And if you're going to reply, please reply calmly and WITHOUT insulting other people) :)

and the analogy of the pregnancy and the door that keeps moving away..

    [snip]

if ep2 was done / finished we'd of played it by now ? and e3 would of had ep3 previews ?

when women are pregnant the baby/ies could be born early/premature with health issues / in the case of the game bug ridden..

as for the door (release date moving) you went to far and lost your point by saying it will never come/never stop moving..

it will it has end of june..

i do agree with hello cthulu the way i see it is (i forget where i put it) but

    [snip]

    ninnuendo (nintendo pervert?)
you have no patience to wait for an extra month ? did you not realise when you bought the game it would be 6-7 months total ? [snip]

Was really excited to play this at the end of last month, but now I'm annoyed with TTG. I understand that delays happen and that they want to make the game as good as possible, but they really should have started work on this earlier (if even just the base framework) to ensure that it wouldn't be delayed by an entire month.
Wouldn't be so bad if there were new games coming out this month to speed things up.

At the end of June? That's VERY disappointing, i guess they're still not going to apologize or anything. I'm not going to say 'i wont buy anything else' because i know very well that it'd be a lie. I love this game, the gameplay combined with zombies and a great story was exactly what i wanted. It's almost a perfect game in my opinion, just really bad communication with the customers.:((For this game)

It's not so much the stupid "womp womp" as much as the guy doing the stupid "womp womp". Jesus christ, we have modern sound systems and computers, we don't need amateur sound effects.

I'm very disappointed in the lack of concern Telltale Games has shown their current customers. For those of us that have chosen to purchase season passes; we purchased them under the terms that TT would release each episode MONTHLY...I would love to see someone from TT just issue a simple statement to its season pass customers. Had I known that TT couldn't hold true to their word I simply would not have purchased the season pass. I feel not only is TTGames stepping on the toes of their longtime fans, but now they stand to lose their current influx of new fans. I understand that bugs can deter the release of just about any game; but don't promise things you can't deliver. It's common sense to stand behind your word when conducting ANY sort of business, and I find it a little pathetic that a statement couldn't have been released to notify customers who have waited patiently for the next episode of the game. I'm not asking TT to release a game that is full of bugs etc. but again DO NOT PROMISE WHAT YOU CANNOT DELIVER! When you say monthly I expect to see results...monthly. It would be the same concept had I purchased a monthly magazine subscription. I just find it in really poor taste to ignore your fans completely; but I'm sure that is of no concern to TTGames. They sure didn't mind taking our money upfront! This will be my last purchase from this particular company. I have e-mailed TTGames, and of course no response. Not even a generated response. Next time I'll just stick to what I know and go purchase my games from GameStop; at least I know I won't have to wait OVER month to play the next part of the game! Hmm..and just to think I had enough faith to give the adventure games a chance. GameInformer will be receiving an e-mail from me since they chose to write about adventure games last issue...I'll be sure to write about my experience with TTGames.

wow. end of june. ttg can kiss my @$$. ive decided to boycott this game entirely. by the time the last episode comes out itll b a full year from episode one.

in my opinion, its really hard to keep ppl interested in a story based game when u get 2 hrs of the story every 2 months.

ttg really screwed the pooch on this one

ttg seems to know how to make great games that r full of hrs of entertainment but present them in such a frustrating and annoying manner that it makes u hate the fact that u hate a good game.

Personally, if the next episode doesn't drop by june 15th the latest, telltale will not be getting my money. The game is awesome but as many have said they said one a MONTH, and the lack of any update on progress by telltale gets under my skin. The second episode should have been released at the end of May, so to me this poll is an insult to me as a customer and they can shove this poll where the sun doesn't shine.

You could just wait until all five episodes are finished before playing. I don't like waiting either but I am not going to let impatience keep me from playing something that looks fun.

CapnJay, you hit the nail on the head.

Sure, TTG should've set their release schedule like they did for Back To The Future, with a 2-month gap after the first episode (for the holidays in that case, for E3 in this case).

Sure, TTG should've better informed those who paid up front for the series - using TTG's own site to do so.

Sure, those of you who are ticked off can say "I'm never buying another TTG product ever again!"

But look at it this way:

Rather than "never buying another TTG product ever again", just wait the 6 months or so for the series to be completed.
    Then buy it.
    No more frustration. Problem solved.

For the rest of us, for our up-front purchase, we get the pleasure of seeing the episodes evolve over time, we get time between episodes to think about what we've seen, to appreciate and discuss the storyline, characters and the process of the game's creation.

It is about principle for me at this point. Telltale games said once a month for 5 months and it isn't unrealistic for me to think they should do what they say. I understand that there are quite of few things during the development phase that can push back a release and it wouldn't be a problem for me. Unfortunately, the lack of any kind of update from telltale about why it is taking so long insults me. I have not bought any previous telltale products before and I don't know anything about their previous customer service when it comes to their games but this is piss poor management. Im not going to sit around another six months for a game that should have been completed (according to telltales) by late august. I do not purchase games from companies that have no consideration for the people that buy their product. Im stubborn that way and by no means am I trying to troll.

Also our opinions and thoughts are getting added to the game. Thats the real reason the surveys were added. For Example maybe it never occured to TTG that doug might be able to fix clems walkie talkie but after alot of us talked about it they decided that he could so they added that.

    {probably not since lees shown holding the walkie talkie in the episode 2 preview anyway}

So you're saying that people who pre-purchased the game have less rights than people didn't?

Not at all, Mr. They simply can't say a monthly release and then release the episodes when they want without inform to their customers. I understand the delays in videogames industry, seriously. What I don't understand it's this lack of respect. They don't even tell us that's a delay, for God's sake!

However, I'm just going to throw in my two cents(again).

If you guys are really mad about the episodic release, why not just wait until it is all over and buy it then? Secondly, delays happen all the time and developers normally don't say anything then either. And thirdly, you have no right to complain about the 2 hours as it was stated to be that way before the game came out. Same as the episodic release(not the delay though, they did screw up there).

Of course, Telltale messed up here on their PR.

In the future, just consider this a learning experience at your end as well:

If you like Telltale's product, but can't tolerate the occasional lapses in timely releases that Telltale is known for, then you're probably better off buying the product once it's fully completed.
