I'm curious to why you think Sticker Star should be forgotten. I have not played it but from the trailers and gameplay i have seen, it doesn't look that bad.

    Here we go...

It completely backed away from what the Paper Mario series was memorable for: story and its RPG elements. Sticker Star has almost no story. Compare it with 64 and TTYD. There's no unique, memorable allies/characters. The only character that's worth mentioning is Kersti, who pretty much acts as a Stuffwell or Starlow throughout the game.

Mind if I borrow the quote from your sig? Thanks.
Every puzzle has an answer, even if it is an stupid answer.
And you're right! Sticker Star is chock full of puzzles that make no sense. Sometimes, the game doesn't give you any helpful hints. Other times, puzzles require you to have items that you might not have with you...Thus forcing you to go back to a world and find that sticker.

Practically the only RPG elements left in this game are battles based on turns. Remember battles in 64 and TTYD? They gave you EXP. Hell, SPM gave you points towards your score to raise your levels. In Sticker Star, there is no EXP. Therefore, no real reason to jump into battles...except for coins. Which are used to buy more stickers that you can use in battles. Even when you are battling, you battle through a shitty sticker system that grows really repetitive. The boss battles are the worst. If you don't have their sticker weaknesses, it's almost impossible to win. If you do, the fight is a walk in the park. Again, do you really want to backtrack to another world to find that weakness? Horrible mechanics for battles here.

The only salvageable factor of the game really was just the score.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Sticker Star butchered the series, it was just a really heavy disappointment for what most fans liked in the previous installments.

Were you never a kid? Stickers were the best. I would totally fight for them even if they didn't help out in combat.

Paper Mario is in my opinion the best game ever made and you are completely wrong if you think that it's the story or the gameplay that made it that - it's the atmosphere. The games - all four of them - are sheer fun from beginning to end.

    Wahhhhhhhhh

    WAHHHHHHHHHHH

Cry more, baby. It was an adventure game. All of the puzzles made sense.

Well sure, it was an adventure game. But that's not what the Paper Mario games tend to be. They started as some truly excellent RPGs, and the more they stray from that the less 'excellent' they tend to be. Super Paper Mario was a fairly good platformer and Sticker Star is an OK adventure, but they're not what the series excels at.

I disagree that it deserves to be forgotten, but I will say that it's hardly the greatest game in the series (Thousand Year Door is, obviously - anyone who disagrees is clearly an idiot).

Also, Luigi's not in it. INSTANT FAIL.

    Seriously?

Maybe because it wasn't released during the "Year of Luigi".

Darth no one wants Luigi in it. Now this Mr.L guy seems like the perfect character for the next game. (I'm joking by the way I already know
Mr.L is Luigi, Jeez its extremely easy to see that he is Mr.L as soon as seeing Mr.L
    )

But Luigi is a great character in the Paper Mario series (He is also my favourite Mario character)

I've actually never played Paper Mario The Thousand Year Old Door having only started playing Gamecube games when I got the Wii. Super Paper Mario is extremely fun though if not very hard (I'm still stuck on World 8-4)

The Mario & Luigi series is pretty good RPGs though.

Please rectify this as soon as possible.

Seriously, I cannot recommend this game highly enough. As well as being astoundingly good gameplay-wise, within 10 minutes of starting it I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath - it's hilarious. It's one of the funniest things I've ever played. Not even kidding (no pu Nintended).

I have yet to play Sticker Star, but it's been high on my list since I found out that it was an adventure game. Since Super Mario RPG came out I've always thought that a Mario adventure could be fun. :)

I would love to play The Thousand Year Door but the problem is that its so damn expensive on Ebay and Amazon with most prices going up to £30 or £40

Yes he is. Also, Super Paper Mario had the best writing and story in the series. And anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

Conceded, if only for the 'nerd' section.

Deserves to be forgotten: King's Quest: A Silver Lining by Phoenix Online Studios.

They tried to pass this off as a real KQ game, when it was nothing of the sort. I don't feel bad saying this, since they acted in a nasty and unprofessional way towards devoted KQ fans who didn't always support or agree with what they were doing. Hopefully they are better now.
