EU PS3 owners

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
Seriously. PC owners are kicking off all over the place about waiting until Friday. European PS3 owners don't even have a date! Why? How different can EU PS3 be to the rest of the world's?! This is crazy!

Please, any answers as to why and when.

Why? Ask Sony. When? Ask Sony.
  • edited June 2012
Are we assured it's Sony's fault. If so then I will.
  • edited June 2012
It figures that we have to wait, I got all excited when I found out it was coming out on Friday then dissapointed when I found out that my version hasn't a date yet :(
  • edited June 2012
Well that sucks I was hoping to play it on Friday :( here is to still hoping though

Who has confirmed that its actually Sony EU's fault? I've heard that certification is harder for the EU, but you'd think that experienced companies that care about their customers would actually...y'know, realise this and try their best to avoid any mistakes? Especially after a PR ****storm in their forums. Christ, *most* games on the EU release simultaneous with the US so its not impossible.

Make no mistake i'm usually the first to blame Sony, not the developer for delays, but after Dungeon Defenders' treatment of the EU PSN audience (and the wider console audience) i cant say that its Sony's fault 100% of the time. To be honest, i think some devs just use certification as a convenient excuse for outright laziness and lack of respect for their fans.

I've all but given up on Telltale, "ASAP" rings as comforting as "soon" with me and considering Telltale's history of silence it might as well be "whenever". Seriously i would not be surprised if we get a Trine 2 three month delay at this point. Optimistically speaking i still say 2 weeks minimum. Why say "ASAP" when you could say "next week"? Probably because its not actually ASAP.....

True didn't someone post that a Telltale employee said in a video that the UK would have a release on Friday?

    I hope so!

Well according to Sony it's Telltale's fault.

People have been asking on the official PS Blog and these are the responses:

WHY NO WALKING DEAD! "Telltale games are your best bet…"

WHERES WALKING DEAD! "It’s not out for EU this week. Please contact Telltale games for any information."

AMERICA HAS WALKING DEAD! "That should have been the plan, alas it isn’t. This is to do with Telltales so please chase them."

So Telltale, are we talking a week or 2? Or longer than that because the EU PSN seems to get games months later sometimes, still waiting on Closure after 2/3months. Actually I'm not because I bought a PSN card, but hope this is out in the next 2 weeks so I dont have to use the US PSN again!

Certification isn't the issue here. I have both consoles and the title is available on the EU XBLA store. I bought the season pass on PS3 as it was the better deal.

I'm not going to go into the entitled "I WANT IT NOW" thing, because it really doesn't get us anywhere. I was super excited to see the title was out this week after such a long wait (just shy of three months instead of the advertised one month), so imagine my disappointment that I cant play it.

As far as I know the EU playstation store only updates once per week - so I'd wager the earliest we'll get the title is on Wednesday. The fact that there's no concrete release date for EU PS3 customers is ridiculous, and neither Sony nor Telltale want to fess up and admit responsibility, from what I can see.

It's really not good business practice. It's still a good product, and I'm sure you Xbox users are enjoying another one, but it really unsettles me as a consumer to constantly feel like something I paid for has been delayed seemingly until the developer/publisher is "good and ready". If there's a reason for the delay, then tell us - it would go a long way to restoring some good faith.

If they were honest/realistic about their timelines from the beginning, or even had the integrity to address the issue after the fact, it would be much appreciated. This tight lipped approach isn't exactly going to make me leap on one of their products again - no matter how good it might seem. I was genuinely intrigued at this episodic gaming concept, but this experience has left me as cold as corpse!

I just wish they released the episode on all platforms on the same day, but that's just wishfull thinking lol

"EU PSN Store is a bit different in terms of releases. It will be out ASAP there."

This is what their PR guy, Alan Johnson tweeted, sounds a bit like a certification issue to me, or at the very least a dialogue that went something like:

    - TT gives game to Sony
    - Sony NA finds it hunky dory, EU finds something wrong
    - Delay

This is all purely based off the fact that they said they'd submitted it for certification around mid-June. I really cant see any reason for the hold up other than some bug or curse word or something that popped up as they translated it to the various EU languages - maybe even some legal issue regarding release across the territory. At the end of the day we're debating over semantics.

Regardless its a delay, and its something that wouldnt be as big an issue if TT had either released the game on schedule, or if they had put the extra work in on the EU version to make sure a delay wouldnt have happened. These guys have released what, 3 games on the PSN now? They cant claim ignorance regarding the EU PSN, especially when there are 100 pages of rage on their forums and a 2 month delay on the 2nd episode. 2 week + wait here we come....
  • edited June 2012
That's BS, so when there are certification problems on xbox - they delay all versions, but when on EU PSN no one gives a s***?
  • edited June 2012
It sucks to live in the UK when game releases are concerned :( Once again we wait
  • edited June 2012
Sony, largely refuses to spend millions on securing timed exclusives, or at least not as much as M$ will. I honestly couldnt care less if M$ did pay seeing as its only 2 days. Its the indefinite delay due to the EU being considered an awkward, third wheel market that gets me >_<
  • edited June 2012
Yeah we even pay more than americans for season's pass and now we have to wait to get the inferior version. That's freakin' great =((( They don't even bother to make PS3 version to be on par with xbox360 and PC versions. Is that sooo hard to make the damn shadows and lighting the same on all versions?

I simply don't understand Telltale's customer service of, "Wall of Silence!"

If Telltale were transparent on their site about what the problem was, said a big we're sorry and we'll give you more news ASAP then I think people would be less annoyed.

As with the delayed release for Episode 2 it all appears to be a big two fingers to EU PS3 owners. If I'd known there was going to be issues I'd have played it on Xbox but as it is we wait an unspecified time. If it's next Wednesday I'll wait, if it's a month away I'll probably download and start again on Xbox and give Telltale even more of my hard earned cash.

I can see myself buying it on my Xbox too, even though at the moment I'm trying not to give Telltale anymore money.

Just read the Gamespot review of Episode 2 and it cites in their 'The Bad' section, 'Performance issues on the Xbox 360.'

Think I'll have to wait until either Telltale or Sony (whoever is mucking about), pull their finger out and release in Europe.

I just want my bloody game.. I paid for the season pass too. This probably wont make a dent in your pockets but you'll (telltale) get no more money from me I'm afraid. Shame because I was eyeing up BTTF...

    Never buying tt again

    Never buying tt again

Same here. Plenty of other developers manage a simultaneous release, and even if they don't most have the common decency to APOLOGISE for it.

Its highly unlikely that we'll get any form or refund or compensation, and, well, thats the risk you make with digital purchases, i'm ok with that. Instead i'll comfort myself with the knowledge that i won't waste another penny on a TT episodic game; and that if anyone i know is contemplating a purchase, i'll consider it my civic duty to warn them with this shining example of customer service.

I could understand if the whole PS3 release was delayed by why just Europe?! I've tweeted Telltale several times but no decency to reply, just repeated adverts on Twitter telling me it's been released!
  • edited June 2012
EDIT: Fair enough, borked PSN got fixed within hours. Now get a move on with the EU release!

It's still not in the european PSN.
Boring. Unacceptable Telltale. and i really don't give a **** about what's your problem.:mad::mad:
Release it goddammit. What in gods sake are you doing? Would you tell us a episode game needs time like a 500 h-rpg-monster-project? Are we europeans just 2nd class customers for you?????
  • edited June 2012
This is a joke! I started thinking that there's something wrong with my ps3 cause I couldn't find it! Shouldn't they at least post something to customers that have paid and have no idea when game will be available for them?:mad::mad:

absolutely disgusting customer service and incompetence.:mad::mad:
  • edited June 2012
Ive never experienced customer service like this! Reading these forums and seeing everyone else screwed over is just roiling me up even more but it seems the only way to discover anything! hateful to see everyone that got it suddenly kissing telltales ass after raging for weeks! sony eu cant be at fault, knowledge of their restrictions should be in telltales hands, no excuses suffice after such a delay anyhow
  • edited June 2012
I believe this is out of TTG's hands. Don't blame them.
  • edited June 2012
I blame them, cause it's there responsibility, they should know the reglementations in the PSN store, and as a customer i really don't care what the problem is. Other companies are able to release their add ons, downloads worldwide at the same time. THIS is absolutely lousy from Telltale.
It's still not on the EU PSN. Disgusting. Incompetent. Lousy. And not a single word from the developers when we'll get the 2nd episode. In fact, we people and customers from EU are the idiots + 2nd class consumers. I will not forget that.
  • edited June 2012
Please send everyone who bought the walking dead game on ps3 EU a code to DL the game on PC, we paid, we get pissed off, we deserve to play. Or personally I would like a refund, then I can purchase the game from my xbox or pc instead. I wish we were told a little more, why do game companies lack the professionalism to tell their customers what's actually happening. massive disappointment for ps3 and ttg, i hope future sales suffer for both

I don't think we have any evidence that it is 'Out of TTG's hands'. Whatever the problem is (which we still don't know), the rest of the world have managed to get it right, why just EU.
Or personally I would like a refund, then I can purchase the game from my xbox or pc instead.

I'd agree with this. Give me back my money and I'd buy it on Xbox Live.

Finally, I write all this with a banner at the top of the page taunting me with, "Episode 2 available now! PC - Mac, PS3, Xbox." Lies... all lies.
  • edited June 2012
    Exactly.
  • edited June 2012
