Someone removed a few pages? Why would they do that?
I did that personally, it sure as hell wasn't a Telltale PR strategy and it sure as hell wasn't "a few pages". The deleted user was explicitly and politely warned about his behavior and completely refused to listen, so yeah.
This forum is very open for discussion and to voice disappointment. If you read the things that remain here, you will have grasped that in the meantime. But trying to organize protest against - let's face it - people completely unrelated to the matter at hand? That's a ticket out of here, and I stand by that.
Just recieved an email from uk psn support. "there is no sign of walking dead this week, ask telltale about it. "
excellent. supreme customer service from telltale i must say. if its not out tomorrow i want a refund of my season pass and i'll pay as i go, no melodrama but i payed for a season pass for monthly releases. i feel like ive hired a sh***y builder and he's done foundation been paid for the whole job and fu**ed off.
That awkward moment when the Head of PR at Telltale is somehow not related to everybody calling for TT to make an announcement regarding release date and/or apology....
Also, i'm sorry if its not the case at TT but the PR department actually has a lot of sway in some game companies. Maybe TT is different but Assassins Creed 3 has not shown ANY gameplay footage of the new assassin killing american troops for fear of upsetting american players. Who made this decision? The devs? Hell no. Despite them going to great lengths to reassure rockpapershotgun (i wont post the link, google it) that the game will have "bad" americans, PR had the final say on the matter.
Moral of the story is that the PR department isnt hamstrung by the devs, they have just as much if not more weight in whether and when to make announcements. I dont think anyone is wanting to crucify the guy but what else can people do other than try to contact some form of public face when their emails and concerns are being ignored. Indeed, who BETTER than the head of PR rather than some poor dev who is not trained for customer relations. I've been watching the guy on twitter and most of the tweets are sarcastic - very few are what i would classify as bullying/pitchfork raising/scapegoat material.
I've already read a ton of spoilers by accident (just roaming this forum or IGN is enough), and frankly I don't give a crap about episode 2 anymore. Just give me my money back you bastards.
Guybrush: At least I’ve learnt something from all of this. Elaine: What’s that? Guybrush: Never pay more than 20 bucks for a computer game. Elaine: A what? Guybrush: I don't know. I have no idea why I said that.
Whilst this situation is frustrating as hell, the above made me laugh and I completely agree - give us a refund you bastards!! Many of us have lost interest and forgotten what even happened in episode 1 it's been so long! Also Episode 2 is being spoiled for us with info all over the Internet. As paying customers we definitely deserve some compensation for this, be it a refund or a free downloadable title. If I go to Mcdonalds drive thru who promise fast food and they make me park up and wait 15 minutes I go in and I expect an apology and some free fries etc for the inconvenience, it's the same thing here, false advertising. You should apologise and offer us a refund and/or compensation. All you're showing by not doing that is that you don't give a shot about your european customers and this will only hurt you financially when you release your next title and no one outside of America buys the thing.
Moral of the story is that the PR department isnt hamstrung by the devs
I work in a PR agency in RL, and I can safely say that your desperate effort at pinning guilt on anyone isn't hindered by any insight whatsoever into the most elementary of company structures.
Didn't say TT was the same, merely gave an example where PR *is* important with a developer.
EDIT: Found the article
Shouldn't we believe our eyes when we see a game that looks like it's all about killing the British, who fought against the people who would become the first Americans?
"As a team, we read that same coverage and we agree." Hutchinson said. "Yes, that's all you've seen. But the decision's gone to communicate on that angle. But we guarantee you that's not the game and we're going to be like...
Also im sure you're not insinuating that corporate structure is uniform across all industries. So PR has the same weight in say, the manufacturing industry as it does with a developer that specializes in digital distribution? I am, indeed, no expert, but as you can see from the majority on this forum, most believe that TT's PR is not up to standard.
When they release it tomorrow (I'm pretty sure they will, otherwise: off with their heads) most of us will probably say "meh", play it, wait for a few months, and then come back here when episode 3 finally gets released on the Xbox and the US PSN. But that solves nothing. We can't let them get away with this so lets shove rancid sausages down their throat and rabid dogs up their ass and let nature run its course. Or if anyone else has a better idea?
That would be great, I've never played Sam and Max
No, neither have I. I'd like to but I won't be handing any more money over to TT after the way they've handled this whole walking dead thing. They've kept us completely in the dark, offered us no apology and made us wait almost 3 months for a 'monthly episode', terrible customer service. They really should offer us a free title, it MIGHT actually win them back some customers in the future... Doubt it will happen though, they quite clearly don't give a shit now they have our cash.

Haha, if this crappy dynamic theme that I'm stuck with for my £16 was a physical product I'd shove that up their ass too, I'm going to have to change it, it's just infuriating me more every time I start my PS3 and I see TELLTALE presents... Just F OFF Telltale you letdowns!
I wish I shared your faith in it getting released tomorrow but unfortunately I don't think this will be the case as we've still heard nothing and the PS Blog isn't mentioning it, just the same old 'ask telltale'...

Ive played sam n max the devils playhouse it was a very good game so il have to vote they give us sam n max through time n space, which i was going to purchase after finishing the walking dead but after this fiasco im not too sure these "people" deserve my money. >:(
i really didn't want to complain about the game in here, but now my mood is definitely not getting better. up to this date i waited nearly two and a half months for the second episode. within this time i, as any other psn eu user, got screwed several times by tt. no comments on the release, no sort of customer policy and again no bloody comment on the eu release.
i definitely do not blame sony for this screw up. this is the fault of ttg. and it's ridiculous to blame sony.
this is bollocks! just stupid. i will never buy a ttg game again!
if i wouldn't have bought the damn season pass, i would never touch that game again. what a shame that such a well developed game gets screwed up by some stupid pricks who simply don't know nuts about simple communication...
but at least ea won't leave you in the dark as much as they did.
i just don't get why they choose to make the game a monthly release. that's just a bad joke now. a refund or some sort of compensation via some free games would be the least thing they could do now.
When I wake up tomorrow and there is still no season 2 available to us, I will look exactly like this and these will be the first words coming out of my mouth:

Which of the following would make you overlook the european PS3 delay and purchase a title from TTG again in the future:
1) An apology message from Telltale on the main page.
2) An apology message and some information on why it's been delayed and a release date.
3) An apology message, info on delay/release date and a free Jurassic Park dynamic theme.
4)An apology message, info on delay/release date and a free downloadable Telltale title on PSN.
5) The telltale employee/employees responsible are put in stocks and you're given a bag of rotten fruit to throw at them.
I'm just trying to get a feel for how angry this has made people and what you think would be worthy compensation in this situation. Whichever gets the highest vote we should petition for.
I would've posted a poll but that would require making a new topic and the mods would likely remove it even though we should be allowed the freedom of speech on this matter.
I reckon a mod will delete that but heck ill bite.
Tbh i think most of us would appreciate some proper communication and an apology - its rather silly to ask for free stuff at this stage when you consider that when things get lost in the post you have to wait a good 28 days before contacting anyone. The convenient wording and nature of episodic releases also mean we're not entitled to diddly squat unless TT dont deliver a damn thing for a good 6 months minimum. All of that PLUS the fact that its digital distribution (a medium largely devoid of refunds unless the game is completely broken and not what it was advertised to be) means im not counting on seeing my money again any time soon.
Just some closure would be nice, an apology, a rough timescale complete with the odd update every couple of days if it runs over schedule. Most of us arent lunatics i dont think
To use the postman metaphor again - if a delivery was scheduled for a certain day and he didnt turn up....and then refused to apologise and in fact didnt say ANYTHING until it was finally delivered 2 months later, you'd be pissed. If, on the other hand, he called up, apologised and then set a new rough ETA and assured you that he would let you know where he was in the world every couple of days, i dont think the rage would be as substantial.
Its just the waiting that gets me. I WANT to shelve TWD and play other games but the obnoxious silence and an obstinate refusal to apologise along with no actual attempt to announce ANYTHING mean that we all have to trawl the forums, frantically searching for information because God knows when the next episode will be released - they've already shown us that monthly is a lie so what else can we do but bounce off the website?
Hand on heart, all i want them to do is say "it'll be out by January next year, if not you'll get a refund" and i will gleefully leave this forum.
1) An apology message from Telltale on the main page.

I were on the train while reading this and I cracked up sooooo much! hahahah
All the people in the train started to stare strangely at me, you made my day! Guess we wont get episode 2 today though...

i would take any of 1-4.
an apology would be really nice, but i just want to hear some news from them. i guess that ain't gonna happen...
don,t forget guys, the eu psn store doesn,t update till sometime between 4 and 5 in the afternoon, thats uk time of course so other european users may have to take that into account. not much point worrying until then, although i,m just as eager to have the second episode as anyone else
So TellTaleGames won't give a shit about it's fans in Europe? I have checked the PSN store every day now and there is nothing but a season pass and episode 1....
I have bought a season pass....... This is the first and last game series that I'm going to buy from TellTaleGames....
TellTaleGames Fucking suck......
Yes, I'm mad but I have right to be..... And sorry for the shitty grammar.....

Vainamoinen out.
The way this is going, we might not get episode 2 while the rest of the world has 3 and maybe 4
playstation plus' update news till now.
But after this I lost somehow my hope

and now this? how hard is it just to be straight with people and stop messing them around?
customers will respect you more if you just lay it out as the Tekken developer did
No, neither have I. I'd like to but I won't be handing any more money over to TT after the way they've handled this whole walking dead thing. We're screwed before the game even gets released for us.
This has nothing to do with TT but I followed your blog. GO TEAM!
Yeah same here, I've already seen some spoilers (not meant to do it).
So now it wont be the same thing as EP.1 ..
If I don't get it tomorrow i'm going to get so pissed off
