Maybe they are holding back release because of the dip in sales for episode 2 and they are hoping EU PSN users will be stupid enough to buy another season pass but for 360 or pc? Lol
After the whole review scandal (they pretended to be players and reviewed their own product given it good scores) that happened awhile back I wouldn’t be surprised on the sliminess lol

It's clear that Telltale don't care how unhappy their users are if it doesn't affect their business so seriously, is there anything we can do to try and seriously harm this company?
Arranging some kind of mass complaint to consumer rights watchdogs is all I can think of but if anyone has any idea of how we can actually legally hurt Telltale games I'm more than willing to do my bit.

It's fucking ridiculous that I should have to keep checking here for any word on why we're still not getting the product we paid for. I've already had a few of the broader developments in Episode 2 ruined for me by having to skim past thread titles that give too much away just to find a thread that just might contain some info on where the thing I paid for has got to.

I don't just want to sit here complaining though. I want these people to lose their jobs. I am sill looking into ways to make that happen but if anyone else has any idea I'm listening. Groups of ragtag individuals have toppled corrupt dictatorships before. I don't think it's too ridiculous to think an organized group of former customers can take down a shitty poorly run game company.

Since Telltale aren't releasing episode 2 for us, I've created my own multiple choice adventure, exclusive to this thread it's called: 'disgruntled consumers' episode 1... It is of course a text based adventure, old school stylee and harks back to such classics as Zork and The Hitchikers Guide... So it begins...

You are awoken from what can only be described as a hellish nightmare, sweat on your forehead, 'it was just a dream' you tell yourself although it felt so real. You go over the vivid memory of it in your mind: you'd paid £16 for a telltale game some 3 months earlier and had been promised monthly episodes yet received nothing... You anxiously look at your clock on your bedside table, it displays Wednesda 2:43 PM, July 4th, 2012. Knowing that the PS store is updated today you log in only to find the episode is still not available... 'Oh God' you think, 'The Nightmare... It's happening'. You get dressed and head outside and are confronted by Telltale head of PR, he grins at you in a sarcastic manner and says 'You shmucks think you're getting an episode 2? Haha, we already have your money now you fools'. Do you:

    1. Immediately sucker punch him in the rib section before he can continue
    2. Say your sorry and just want some info on the release date.
    3. Run back into the house

You are carrying: an empty wallet and a walking dead dynamic theme.

Choose wisely... Decisions will be carried over into the next episode which will be released 'soon'... I'm just not too sure when.

Thanks for playing and supporting interactive fiction

Episode 2 of this thrilling adventure is now available:

If you chose option 1: You throw a hard punch to the employees chest area, it instantly breaks your fist, you recoil and look at the TTG employee with sheer horror in your eyes as he lifts up his shirt to reveal he's not even human and is infact a robot made of cast iron. He snorts at you 'You stupid fuckwit, how could you possibly believe I was a mere human with my skills in conning and fooling the public, I am a cyborg entitled 'the telltale tale teller' sent from planet Bullshit. He then proceeds to pull down your pants as you are helpless to another Telltale shafting. GAME OVER.

If you chose option 2: The telltale employee laughs at your apology and says 'You fool, there IS NO release date". He then proceeds to pull down your pants, you scramble around frantically for your walking dead dynamic theme in an attempt to distract him but it's useless as you are helpless to another Telltale shafting. GAME OVER.

If you chose option 3: you run back into the house and immediately shut and lock the door, you now have 2 options:

    1) Despite instinct and past experiences telling you its a waste of time you log onto the telltale forums to ask for assistance, in doing this you accidentally view several spoilers for episode 2 of The Walking Dead.

    2) You pick up the closest thing to you that resembles a weapon, which happens to be a Back To The Future: The Game mug you'd bought a year earlier from the Telltale store, you are instantly filled with rage and memory's of how apalling that game was with it's non existent puzzles. You grab it and step back outside to face the enemy.

To be continued in episode 3: "It's about time... No seriously guys it really is" coming soon!!

Get over yourself. Teltale haven't robbed you. It's a delay for christ sake. You ever considered that sony could be causing telltale problems, hence the delay? They already said that they were working with SCEE, to get a release.

Research about the history of Telltale before blindly following them, they posed as fans and gave their own game good reviews.

Bad analogy. You knew that you were prepurchasing the season when you bought it. If you didn't want to wait, you should have waited until the season was over, and then played all 5 episodes together.

Well they should at least apologise and give us some real info/explanation don't you think?? After all they do have our money. Episode 2 has been ruined for us now anyway since we know what happens in it due to them releasing it on every other platform except ours!!

Okey the blame game again, I guess TTG's inability to communicate with us is our own fault then? Come on, they dropped the ball on this one.. They didn't even bother to write a blog post about it. One tweet is what they fed us.

I dont feel robbed, but I do feel mislead and neglected.

If it's a delay then that's alright. I am used to dealing with delays. I'm still waiting for a product I ordered from a small online business. I didn't get it within the time I was originally supposed to and got a little worried but then my fears were set aside by an email explaining that they're a little overwhlemed by the amount of orders they've recieved, which I perfectly understood.

What's the reason for this delay? I'm just saying, if something's delayed it's pretty standard practice to inform your customers of why. If you take your car into the garage to have the engine repaired and they fail to do it within the time they told you it'd take, you can expect them to give you a reason why it's taking a little longer. If you go down to the garage and nobody will talk to you or even let you into the place it's not too crazy to feel like you got ripped off.

    are you kidding me?
i bought the season pass because they told me and everyone else that the episodes will come out monthly.
and now? no episode 2. no statement. and no damn apology! why the hell shouldn't i have the right to be upset.
and you tell me it's my fault that i'm upset now and that it's all sony's fault? nonsense. even sony told us via the blog that it's all telltale's fault. i don't know if that's true, but at least they communicate with us so i have to believe them.
  • edited July 2012
And also how about this That's like saying you order something on amazon it doesn't arrive for 3 months (passed it's expected date) but you shouldn't complain etc because it should expected when ordering an item online.

Or pre-ordering tickets to the new batman film it gets delayed but the cinema says "We wont refund you, you can just watch it when it comes out. Whenever that may be".

And once again Telltale faked reviews for one of their own games... yikes Masta do some research before saying my post is stupid... douche
  • edited July 2012
it's just as simple as that: we all wouldn't be so upset if anyone of telltale would tell us some "release" date or a period in which the game will come out.
just a simple short statement. that's it. no more problems. but they are too stupid to communicate i guess...

    Proof

Why are you so adamant about this?
They meet us with a wall of silence, they tell us that the episode is delayed 4 days after it should have been released.

I've bought the season pass thinking I would get a episode each month for 5 months. I did so knowing that they have had problems releasing on time in the Back To The Future game. I had hoped they had learned from thier previous experiences.

I am still going to play the rest of the episodes, I do like the game. I just can't stand the silence treatment from TTG.

yeah, but the last update was quite a while ago. and i can't believe that this takes so long. one week should be enough.
i still have hopes that we get to play the game on friday, because in the us episode 2 was also released on last week's friday.
i just want to know what's going on. not more. but if they keep leaving us in the dark i want some sort of apology or refund.

When did I say you shouldn't complain? Point is, it's delayed and there's nothing you can do it. The extra month gave them the chance to really improve the game and after playing episode 2, it was defintely worth the wait. I'm sure you wouldn't want them to rush it out in a month.
As for your analogy, that doesn't work because you have already played one of the episodes. That would be like going to the cinema, watching 1/5 of the film, walking out then demanding a refund. Not going to happen.

There's always something you can do. If enough people would get behind the idea of punishing Telltale for their shitty customer relations we could seriously hurt them and make sure no company ever tries this same shit again. To just sit back and think, 'Oh well., nothin' I can do' is the attitude of a rube. Maybe the game had to be delayed a month, maybe it didn't. It would just be nice to be told and it'd be nice if a company who had faced this same problem before would have made the effort to make sure it didn't happen again.

Also, sorry if I'm not following the analogy but are you saying our attitude is like that of someone who walks out of a movie after fifteen minutes and demands their money back?? Remember, it's not our choice to have stopped experiencing the story where we did. We didn't walk out of the movie, the screen faded to black and we were left alone in the dark of the cinema to figure out that the movie would continue at 'some point' in the future.
