Happy that the episode is out, but doesn't change my views about buying from them in the future. I'm hoping this doesn't happen with the remaining episodes
true words. same annoying stuff will happen with the episode 3 release, if it will ever come out...
guys you need to calm down TTG said in their twitter that they are working on it with SCEE for a release date for Ep2 in the EU PSN check it out...so all what we can do is have so more patient or....keep what your....doing...
Okey, another blind fanboy im guessing. They told us via a twitter that the episode would be delayed. But they did so 4 days after you should have had it.
They haven't responded to the loads of posts on thier facebook page. We have been met with a wall of silence. Very small signs that they actually cared about the fans in EU. They should have been more transparent in what they where doing.
This is ridiculous. I've been waiting far too long now for EP2.
Monthly releases my ***, i feel cheated by this promise and paying the full wad for all episodes up front. I'll remind myself in the future to think twice, no thrice before spending money on a telltale game.
I bought the season pass and played episode 1 only one week ago, because I read a review about episode 2. So for me the waiting time was not so long. I hope the next episode will come in 2 months and this time there will be more communication.
So the fucking episode arrives at last. I will have to play episode 1 before episode 2 though... god it was almost 3 fucking months ago since i played episode 1. I dont even remember the main characters name.
I am still REALLY angry with telltale for keepings us in the dark. Only god knows when episode 3 will arrive, probably in Oktober-November when the tv-series start. With this said, i will never buy anything from telltale ever again. And i HOPE that you guys do the same!
As it's 4:25 am where they are I'm not surprised they haven't said anything right now.
These aren't students staying up late to do an assignment.
This is supposed to be a professional company taking consumers' money and not delivering what they promised.
Damn right I expect some communication and to be honest I don't really give a crap about what time it is over there - they are up at that time for a reason.
I will look fwd to playing the episiode (and will be holding my breath on any errors/glitches by the sounds of it) but TTg have A LOT to make up for with the coming episodes and they best pull their finger out or face losing a lot of customers.
People in this thread mostly haven't decided if they want to be enraged over the one month delay of episode 2 or over the less than four work day gap between PSN US and EU releases, which makes for a confusing read.
The first might occur again judging from Jake's last post on the matter, but they might not need a full extra month for episode 3.
The latter will most definitely occur, as was the case in all previous games I can remember actually being on PSN. In this case, the gap was actually minimal compared to past years.
I completely understand the people who complain about the lack of communication (and I'm doing the same thing). I REALLY understand the people complaining about save data loss (although spamming the community doesn't help).
I understand the people complaining about a one month delay a bit less - particularly the needless vehemence and downright antic level of outrage - but would still say monthly was the deal after all.
But those raging because they had to wait a few more days because they live in another country... I seriously don't get these guys.
so, i'm through episode 2. it's damn good! bit disturbing but very well done.
i hope that tt will be a bit more communicative now and tell us the planned release date of ep3 soon maybe we will be able to play it sooner than we all think.
But those raging because they had to wait a few more days because they live in another country... I seriously don't get these guys.
Now enjoy the game!
It does make sense that in the current global communication situation this shouldn't happen, or at least be planned for. Think the real problem stems from people thinking thier being singled out by TTG, which I'm sure was never thier intention, and like you said the lack of communication.
That extra month was well spent by TTG, and hope it can counter some of the bile on the forums if it happens again.
Games with set release dates, those that are finished weeks in advance - particularly those with retail releases! - are faaaar easier to set up for simultaneous worldwide releases on digital platforms. Actually coordinating the certification processes for (halfway!) monthly episodic releases however, that might still be a challenge for the decade ahead. Even among the 1000+ employee biggies, I can't think of a company which manages to do that.
Just finished it, but have to say my enjoyment was greatly compromised by the spoiler I stumbled across whilst searching for release info. Found that just seeing a solitary word on a thread title was affecting decisions I was making. Can't help but think how shocking a twist/reveal it would have been if I hadn't have known.

I was thinking about this a lot - particularly how it could be handled better in the future. I must have cut spoilers out of and changed four dozen thread titles this last week, and somehow those who have begged most for spoiler-free titles seem to completely forget about this as soon as they have "their" version of the game.
The art is to make a thread title that does not spoil, but is still specific enough to be of any use for identification. Less spoilers --> more threads for the same topic. Methinks the community's and mods' linguistic creativity finds its natural limit here.
Mods would go MAD if single thread titles would be reported. But if there's no other way, just drop me a note.

I dont think many of the ragers over the EU delay (me included) were so angry because it was a week-long delay. Thanks to TT's PR strategy, we all had NO idea when it was coming out, and like i've said numerous times, some games have suffered a 3 MONTH delay between their NA and EU release. Factor in horror stories like that combined with TT's tight lipped attitude to its customers and its quite easy to get angry over a ambigous release which had neither a firm ETA or an apology attached to it.
If it really were those horror stories - and the expectation that episode 2 might come to PSN EU in August or September - I shudder to think where the rising needless insult level would have been already next week if this episode didn't release right now.
A lesson for the future, maybe?
One of the reasons we always made those release date guessing games just for PC/Mac was because we felt that this is is the version Telltale has most immediate release control over. When Telltale took its first steps towards the major consoles, all that certification nonsense just seemed too unreliable to us to still make the monthly schedule. A lot has changed since then, and the releases were actually more and more coordinated.
I think Episode 2 of TWD was actually the best coordinated one yet...

Man, those episodes were short. And they only had, like, one decision! Can you make them longer? You get two months to do them!
(Disclaimer: I loved the shit out of Choose your own Adventure books when I was 20 years younger)

Twitter is gay.
They should be announcing something in a newsletter or by updating their website.
Proper grown up comunication.
Could we have more user confirmations of this please?
Fan of the Romero films?
(I'm not on these forums for the game anymore but I do like the people :-) }

"FINALLLLLLLLLLLY"
But I'm starting to wonder..... Episode 3...... another..... fucking.......... 2....... months.......

Thanks.
And it'll be late to begin with. I guess it shows, if you want a company to move their asses, stop buying their stuff and get your money back.

Not in Sweden either
Swing! Downloading! My bad!
And it is now 10 a.m. in California, but still no word from TTG. Perhaps they decided to take a late morning to celebrate.
Konstigt, för mig finns det
I love these people...
Or finally sleep a bit after a fucking exhausting month.
