Those were from everyone, not just you, coolsome.

Ohh good. I thought I became obsessive.

Whenever coolsome is not on-line, all the other members should be asking 'Where's coolsome?

I think we were just cleaning them up before anyone noticed them. :/

The fabled "new forum" is expected to have something that will at least deter them a little.

Will it have hams and yams and cookies and candies?

Trust me, it hasn't stopped at all. It's slowed just a little, but there's still several every day.

Well these posts exist. You just cannot see them!
Have you ever wondered why there is sometimes a link to a page of the "Whatever is on your mind" thread but if you click it it directs to the site before that? That's because of these posts.

I actually have no idea why this happens and it drives me crazy. I do know that it doesn't happen on earlier pages and I'm determined to get to the bottom of it one day.
  • edited September 2012
Wow you guys must really have been working hard to stop them for around a week or so, Can't really blame you guys for letting one through by mistake.
  • edited September 2012
We get them all eventually. It's just that sometimes we get them more quickly.

Huh. I think there's a reason why other vbulletin board moderators oppose threads with more than 100 pages. ;)

    Ban JedExodus in 2013.
  • edited September 2012
Can we have a Coolsome button that spawns an awkwardly random thread topic that gets shut down within five posts?

I'm sorry! I was young and had no idea what a nightmare behemoth that thread would become!

I think I could manage to ban JedEx until 2013. Would that work?

I think the forums would be greatly improved if people had proper grammar and spelling.
  • edited September 2012
A common grammatical mistake is confusing "your" and "thinking I want your grammatical advice."

One of the improvements to community rules would in fact be that spelling correction is out of the scope of the forum, i.e. too off topic anywhere. Fuck it, the worst spellers in the TWD community have actually started correcting others. This must stop.

Wow. Now i know what Darth Marsden meant when he said to me that it was ironic that I helped a new member by fixing his posts.

It seems this thread has gone off the beaten path..

I think one thing that might improve the community is maybe doing something like doing live playthroughs and have community members interact? maybe?

We used to to that, with Monkey Island Races and such. I think it stopped when Guru stopped planning them.
  • edited September 2012
If I could figure out a way to do a live playthrough of Drake, I'd be all for that for a future part. It'd be handy since I'm running out of things to say about it!

Oversaturation. People wanted races in both the summer and the winter. Then, people wanted Sam & Max races. Eventually, as those subforums started to decline in activity and there was too many races going on, people stopped participating (the last Monkey Island race only had five participants, four of whom finished, and the Sam & Max race only had two), so I stopped running them, and there hasn't been enough interest to justify setting them up again.

Could be worse. One time, before I was a mod, I had a troll make a fake account and pretend to be me.

We already had that. And some of the users here are still streaming.

I remember that. There was also the time when that one guy just switched his avatar and relavent sidebar information to match various people on the forum and really confused everyone.
