I'm sure there will be. And I have to step away from the computer for a while. Best of luck to you all. I'll check in when I can and clean up the damage if there is any.
It's all about preventing automated registration and detection of threads created by spammers who got in.
I have an idea. Require email authorization--and perhaps force the use of unique email addresses not tied to another TTG account--for accounts created which hadn't purchased any games.
I'm just thinking that an account which has games tied to it is obviously used by a real person. Accounts which have no purchases may not be, thus do not allow automatic authorization. Also if accounts require unique, valid email addresses for each of them, then one would have to bother to create new, separate email addresses for each ban-circumvent or bot.
resetting one's router doesn't change the traceroute, just the IP assigned by the user's ISP.
Also, if one were to actually go into the effort of doing so, one could determine, from the ISP's logs, which MAC address or ISP login name was using which IP as a given time.
Also, ever notice that lower case l's look like uppercase I's? Or that broken images still contain lower case letters as far as the forum is concerned? (also, links)
Yeah but that was the more subtle type of bot, the kind that makes posts saying "I like such-and-such, do you like it?". Not too dissimilar to coolsome at times...
It's a collectables guide for The Eternity Clock so I can get all the hats / diary pages. Because the less time I spend playing that game, the better. Ugh.
Little surprised that's all your focusing on out of the dozen tabs you can see...

I...well...ok that the truth.

Which truth is it? Good or Bad?

increasing bot detection isn't on-topic?
You must be one with the Forum.

With that url.The link has lower caps letters. That tricks the system.
But they offer live free streaming! I can't pass up an offer like that.
I can't think of an example off the top of my head, but I'm sure this is a thing we've done before.
Coolsome's a frakkin' skin job.
Don't worry, he's the coolsome type of skin job.
There was the Top 5 Villains thread. I think there were others as well, but that's the last one I remember.
Clearly I was no 1 all along as an advanced spa bot mwhahaha!
What exactly is a spa bot???
A robot that works in a Spa.
You sound like Wheatley in Portal 2
''Ah Humans gotta love 'em''
We caught you! You are trophy hunting for Dr.Who!
He could be made water resistant by covering it in artificial elastomer skin like a sex toy.
Ok, let's recap the info we gathered so far:
coolsome is an advanced robot with an elastomer skin (possibly a sex toy) that works in a spa ...
creepy
though I'm slightly envious now ...
Little surprised that's all your focusing on out of the dozen tabs you can see...
That would be a god damn holiday.
