Quick question, is there any way to get Christa to not be pissed off at you for taking Clem with you to the abandoned station and getting ambushed by those three walkers?

Also, can someone please PM or just post here if and how it's possible to prevent Katjaa and Duck from dying?? I'm super curious...

Now that that's done, back to my review... I think Ep. 3 was brilliant! I'm super looking forward to the rest of the season, season 2, and the rest of my life playing nothing but Walking Dead. Thanks TT.

I am liking how (at least my) Lee is growing as a character. He starts off as a criminal trying to hide his past but by now he realizes honesty is how they survive this. When Omid and Christa asked me who I was, I was completely honest and I told them I was a prisoner, and I felt like I was doing both Clem and Carley proud. And my relationship with Clem is really driving me to make more compassionate decisions.

I wonder when Lilly trys to get you to run away with her can you go with her?

Nope. Tried to go with her in my proLilly game, she takes off when Lee goes to get Clem. Saw it coming too. She takes off, cut to Lee, 'LILLY!?'O.O Hilarious cause now hes stuck with Ken who hates him, Clem who he neglected in the first 2 episodes, Ben the traitor, a hobo, and the newbies who act like kidnappers. Oh and Lilly blew his cover when she killed Doug so now everyone knows hes a murderer.

Yeah I really thought Ken would hate me after opposing killing Larry, but my honesty and loyalty to his family helped solidify our friendship. Funny because after episode 2 I was totally on Lilly's side and hated Ken even though I still tried to stay neutral for the group's sake. I did tell Ken about my past so he didn't give a crap when Lilly exposed me. After she killed my girlfriend I said screw that bitch and I left her.

It might end up being my favorite playthrough just because of how completely F'd Lee is now.

I must admit, I was utterly shocked with how Carley was killed, was not expecting that at all! (At least this soon, thought she'd die around late episode four or five) Sort of a bummer also because I noticed there was a little romance developing between the two (which I've seen many request) and in the end it just is gone due to Lilly's stupid action. I literally kicked her off the train and ditched her; there's one thing to kill someone that could possibly be turning into a walker (Kenny towards Larry, but even then I disagreed with him) but it's a whole other thing to kill another human in your very own group. We even get confirmation later on that Ben was the one that was the traitor - I so wish he would of got shot instead, Carley for the most part seemed trustworthy, probably the most within the group.

Other than that this episode got me more back onto Kenny's side, especially now that his family has died. Was not expecting Katja to kill herself, or Duck to be bitten. Granted I was saying the past two episodes about how annoying Duck is, but even still, he wasn't 'that' annoying to deserve to die.

Looks like we got Christine (that's her name?) as confirmed for a girl. As for Onmid (Don't know if that's his name either) I expect him to die next episode. I don't really care for Chuck either; I would of preferred keeping Carley or Katja over him.

Regardless of my feelings of hatred towards Ben now, this episode was extremely good. It twisted my emotions and was more dark than the previous episode (didn't think that was possible), plus there were almost not stalling glitches like there were in Episode two where it took forever and a half to load some scenes. It seems the episodes just get better and better, and it'll continue this trend; didn't think they could do better than Episode Two and I was wrong, let's hope they can prove me wrong again. As long as it's this type of quality I don't mind the two months of waiting.

Also just wondering, what replaces the slight hints of romance and the telling of your crimes if Doug is in your play through?

Signed up just so I could review this awful/wonderful chapter, and my god this episode really knocked me around emotionally...I feel the whole Carley/doug dying thing was just cheap writing, however I'm probably just mad because I thought Lee and Carley had something there. (kind of hypocritical given lee's past but I threw that murderin b*tch out too) anyways, not sure about the homeless guy. Giving the kids candy seemed kinda....weird to me, but he did have some good tips with Clem. Overall it was a good episode, kinda reminded me of
the sophia being a walker in the barn thing from the t.v. show
Just in terms of emotional impact. Anyways, looking forward to what's next. I'm just hoping it get's happier, this episode just depressed the hell out of me.

Anyone leave Duck hanging by the gate?
  • edited August 2012
Absolutely NOT! Of course I had to be incredibly awesome and high-five him. Poor little guy.
  • edited August 2012
Omid is really cute and when he said about saving her life "thousand times... ten times... sometimes" and then smiles :D What a real cutie, I have found a new fave character after Carley got shot but I bet Omid will die next episode (I always have that luck).

I got really tears in my eyes when Carley got shot and the scene where Katjaa talk w/ Kenny about Duck and the shooting. When Katjaa shot herself I was like: "Oh, no why Katjaa", because I wanted to see more from her and interact more with the group. She remind me like Carol :(

I wonder why Clem lie the whole time to the group & Lee about the walkie-talkie beeing broken and talking with a guy... but does the other walkie-talkie not have Glenn from Episode 1 ?? Is it the Senator or what? Did Glenn gave it to someone or what? I wonder also if we see after that mysterious guy also a other new character?

Just want a other a woman in the group, Christa is kinda... well... don't know how to connect with her and that achievement I read in 1 of the next episodes is something like: "We have to cut it off", so I bet we must cut Omid leg off that he survive, but we don't have a Katjaa anymore who could fix him. Jesus what a damn crazy twist here lol

I thought Lee was gonna bang Carley at one point during this, too.
  • edited August 2012
Okay, that's it for me, Lee and Carley are my favourites char, and i'm shocked about Carley killed by this bitch Lilly. This is absolutely frustrating, Sorry, Telltale, this would be the last episode i bought from you. This stinks. F****** end. Dont' need more episodes. Blah blah 'bout choices etc. Good char killed, Assholes live? Not with me. Totally disappointing. Sorry 'bout the wasted money.
  • edited August 2012
well damn. Aside from one or 2 noticeable bugs, telltale is really hitting their stride.an emotionally charged powerhouse with some walker wacking to boot? fantastic episode.
  • edited August 2012
When Lilly shot Carley I was like: "you mothafawker. I'm going bash your face in just enough so you are still alive. Then I'll fire 3 rounds in the air so some zombies come and eat you." and when she said lee was a killer, I was like "well I'm a hypocrite" but I still didn't give 2 sheits, I left here to join the Ricktatorship. And what's lolworthy is that everyone didn't give a crap.

I will kill Ben in a heartbeat if I have the opportunity.
Starting a revolution of 'Kill Ben'
  • edited August 2012
That episode was depressing! When Carley got shot I was actually off the rails angry and didn't hesitate in leaving Lilly behind even after siding with her to save Larry. Just when things could get any worse then we had Duck and Katjaa. After growing to hate him, I felt horrible for Kenny as our group started to drop like flies. Then Ben admitted in being the traitor which got Carley killed, I just wanted to throw him off the train. OMG! I'm afraid what TTG might throw at us next.

Guys is this game actually canon? I am looking on the Walking Dead Wikipedia and it says things like (the links have spoilers to the comics):

"Her (Lilly's) father, Everett Ray Caul cared deeply for her, and sacrificed himself to protect Lilly."

"After the apocalypse broke out, Lilly and Everett stood together for a short while. When they were attacked by a smaller herd, Everett saved Lilly by locking her into a bus."

"Everett saved Lilly by locking her into a bus, causing himself to be devoured."

"In the Video Game by Telltale, Lilly's dad is named Larry."

    http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Lilly_Caul_(Comic_Series)
    http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Everett_Ray_Caul
    http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/The_Walking_Dead:_The_Road_To_Woodbury

I think all this comes from the Walking Dead book, The Road to Woodbury that is coming out later, but it looks like this is gonna conflict with The Walking Dead Video Game. If this is true that is really kind of annoying. A few references to the video game in the book would have been good, but it looks like they are completely ignoring it. I really liked the idea of this game being canon to the comics and it's kind of disappointing if there not.

Edit: Really enjoyed this episode, forgot to mention that.

What kills me is they give you long enough and enough of a connection with Carley to where it just punches you in the face when she dies. The subtle looks when you look up to her on the balcony while you investigate the missing drugs was brilliant. "Dont call me small"
  • edited August 2012
The game is canon to the original set of comics in so far as it's the same universe that happens to cross paths with a few characters from the comic. It is not the place to look to for the comic's future though. The game uses the comic as its canon.

That said, it's still Kierkman's property and if he didn't happen to want to do things as they are in game (or perhaps he already had this story written up in his mind and didn't tell telltale because it wasn't yet highly publicized- or any other reason he wished), then that's obviously up to him. I mean, I highly doubt that Telltale and Kierkman are sitting around discussing every detail of each story with each other. lol

Pretty sure this didn't happen to anyone else who has played? Perhaps making a topic in the support forum might help Telltale work on it though if it seems to have happened to you.

This episode was great. When Kat showed Lee that Duck was bitten, my heart sank. I suspected that not only would Duck die, but I was expecting for Kat to do exactly what she did do. In her shoes, I would have done the same. Her child was her life and without him she had no reason to live any longer.
  • edited August 2012
You'd think she would kill Duck THEN kill herself though. Leaving him there seemed a bit harsh.
  • edited August 2012
I can understand why she didn't. She knew it was going to be done and didn't want to see it happen.

impossible!! as this has never happened to any save game i ever had! IT IS NOT MY SYSTEM! IT IS THE GAME! AND IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!

I kept expecting Duck to turn while in Kat's arms and bite her. O.o
I felt bad for Kenny though. His wife, instead of staying with him, kills herself because she cannot handle the thought of watching her son die. I know she didn't think about Kenny in that moment, but man, he has to go through his son and his wife dying.

    Alright, tone it down there.
You're starting to sound a little like a hobo trying to convince me that I am damned lest I throw on a tinfoil hat.

Even if it does happen to everyone (though I have already played through episode three and nothing happened to my saves), you're better served making a topic in support.

Is Lilly like evil now? Why did she even kill Carly? Anything different happens if you pick Doug? Did she just finally snap? In the beginning is there anyway you can save the girl and kill all the zombies? Or is the only option to shoot her or leave her?

So anyone else think Chuck is Terry St. John? Just me?

    I found some information dude!

It's unkown that he is dead, and it's very possible Chick could be Terry St. John. It even says it on the wiki!

    http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Terry_St._John

It's in the trivia section -

Fans have speculated that Chuck is actually Terry St. John due to both of them looking somewhat alike and Chuck's brief description of leaving his family 14 years ago along with the family photo in the train carriage that disappears after the first visit.

Doug was in my group & it was an "accidental" death. She didn't mean to kill Doug, she meant to kill the teenager (I forget his name) for stealing the meds & giving them to the bandits. There was no way, that I saw, to stop her from doing it.

As far as the girl in the beginning, I chose to let the zombies get her, I'm pretty sure, though not entirely certain, that it wasn't a choice to "save" her.

ok this episode was good but more glichy then the other episodes and didnt have the flow as the others did to me. there was no really high tension where you need to make a choice quick in this episode plus there was no crazy beating, bloody, gory seen when usually the camera is zooming in with your actions i love those seens. the hammer in the babysitters face got me hooked on the game. and loved the axe seen in the begging of episode 2. nothing like that in episode 3. now there was some crazy heavy seens where the content was mentely brutal which is great but i woulda like a mixed of everything and it needs more gore to compete with the other episodes. but hey it is certainly not a deal breaker in the slightest. episode 2 really set the bar high so i could see it being hard to continue. i still diffidently have high hopes for next episode and cant wait. episode 2 is basically my favorite and this episode 3 being my least favorite with episode 1 smack there in the middle.

I picked Carly and she meant to kill Carly because Carly called her a bitch and a 'little girl' something like that. But wow, I really wish she killed Ben instead (the teenager). Because he later confesses that he really did do it -_-. I wasn't so pissed off that he actually did it, I'm more pissed off that he LIED and didn't tell the truth. Also, this episode was really long for me. I played 1 am to like 4:30 am. Is it me or are these episodes getting longer?

I don't know if it actually was longer, but it did seem that way to me as well. To some degree it was longer for me, but that was because I kept dying at the motel/camper scene where you had to shoot all of those walkers. The target thingy seemed a little wonky to me & it was hard to get a good, quick shot off.

Wow. In mine she was going to shoot Ben, but Doug went to push Ben outta the way & ended up being the one to take the bullet.
