Wow, I'm utterly amazed at how many ways and times you can split that hair. :D

Exactly the point I was trying to make - trying to pin the deaths of Katjaa, Duck, and Carley/Doug on Ben is just splitting hairs.

Let's just leave bad decisions where they should lie - in the past. He didn't want to hurt anyone.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions, after all.

And I don't see how Ben's decision is splitting hairs.

And around and around we go......

Edit: Ok, maybe I'm getting the terms wrong... but it seems he's guilty of Manslaughter instead of Murder then.
  • edited September 2012
Manslauter makes him sound like some demented butcher who cuts up people and stores them in their...wait a second. That sounds familiar.

that's crazy all Ben is guilty of is not wanting to die and having nobody to turn to for help

And stealing medicine... people keep forgetting that.

...and possibly letting the bandits in.

if anything ben is guilty of being a complete witless wonder...

people like him get people killed, oh wait..

Can't really blame Ben for being scared and not wanting to die. Sure he handled the situation wrong, REALLY wrong, and three good people got killed because of it. He'll learn from this, as small a consolation as that may be.
  • edited September 2012
    rofl... I'm sorry....

Sure ben, you got three people killed, but that's alright, better luck next time... lol :D
  • edited September 2012
I hope Ben does learn, but any learning he does will be away from my group if I have anything to say about it.

I'm sure Telltale will have him redeem himself somehow. He DID promise he'd step up once we reached Savvanah.

I'm pretty sure they let themselves in. Don't you hate it when people don't knock first?
  • edited September 2012
Actually, Ben did let them in. The bandits attacked the Motel before and were repulsed without casualties. While getting the bag from the grate, you can have Lee look at the wall and he'll notice the bullets and arrows left on the wall from previous attacks, which, IMO, proves that the bandits didn't have the numbers or firepower to just march on in.

i think their attack proved they did, we must have killed 10-15 of them and i don't think that was all of them

If they could then their previous attack would've succeeded. From what I remember there were 4 bandits holding your group hostage, and then 6 in the second wave, with more firing at you from further away out of which Lilly killed 1, Carley 2, Lee 5, and a walker got 1 before your group leaves, and this was despite the bandit attack being a complete surprise, thanks to Ben. As for armaments, the bandits had handguns, crossbows, and I think I saw one with a shotgun, while Lee's group had handguns and scoped rifles, so no real advantage or disadvantage in the actual fight, but your group's weapons should perform better if the group is prepared and fighting from a fortified position which would be the case if not for Ben.

IMO, though, the best proof for believing that the bandits didn't have the numbers or firepower to take the motel is that they did try before and failed. I'm not saying that staying there was worth the risk from bandits or lack of supplies, but the group would've been far better off if Ben acted like a real member of the group and talked to everyone else or at least Lee after his first contact with the bandits than trying to keep a deal going behind everyone's back. Hell, the group would've been way better off if Ben was never found, which is why I wouldn't keep him around.

There's 4 bandits holding everyone hostage at first. Carley killed 2, Lilly 1, and Lee shot the final one in the rear as he hopped the fence. At least six more bandits came out of the woods to actually storm to motel while several others provided covering fire from the woods. Plus, the ones that stormed the motel (who we killed) all had scoped rifles. Bandits had the numbers, and the firepower. The only thing keeping them out was the wall.
  • edited September 2012
I looked again, the second wave had 5 bandits with rifles without scopes that Lee kills and 1 bandit with a handgun that was killed by a walker. I don't think Lee's group can win without the wall either, which they would've had if not for Ben.
  • edited September 2012
Oh yeah, in a stand up fight Lee's group would have been wiped out. Good thing Kenny fixed up that RV.
  • edited September 2012
How do you feel about Ben? I mean, he Indirectly caused Doug's death and if Ben wasn't taken into the group then he wouldn't of given the supplies to the Bandits and then Carly wouldn't of died. So would you kill Ben is given the chance to? Or would you try to defend him? I would kill him.

I feel like there are more then enough threads about Ben. Go and read them if you care about our opinion.
I see that you're new, but seriously, most of the Ben threads are even on the first page.

Ok i'm sorry, I didn't know that we weren't allowed to post stuff that you wanted to know, and yes for your information, this is my first time making a thread, ever, i usually stay away from threads, because people always ruin it for me with bad attitudes.

That was an FYI and not a personal attack. If everyone has to repeat themselves 10x over in every duplicate thread that opens, it ceases to be fun. Stick around awhile and you'll see for yourself.

I meant that YamiRaziel's response wasn't meant as an attack, you seemed to take that way:
because people always ruin it for me with bad attitudes.

If you didn't, good. However, you may want to search for topics by keyword before posting a thread.

I like Ben, hes a naive teenager who made a mistake. what do you expect the teenager to do? hes still a kid.

If Ben was to be shot over Darley I still would have been surprised by the whole situation. I intend to keep Ben as long as I can, theres no reason I shouldn't, as long as I keep a eye on him.

Ben you cost me Carley and Lily. If you die or not is solely up to how you act around Clem and how she approves of you.

Not only is Ben responsible for Lily leaving but he's responsible for the deaths of Carley/Doug, Duck and Katjaa. I'm done with this group, taking Clem and leaving them to it.

Am I the only one who does not completely hate Ben, and who didn't completely love Carly? I mean Carly's fine and Doug is a cool bro, but still... Ben did something he thought was justified. He made a choice that did not end well. I mean, come on: Lee and Mark pretty much exclusively chose for the group to go to St. John's farm and look what happened? Larry dies (causing Lilly to be angry and bitter at Kenny and - maybe - you), Kenny get's shot, Clem gets traumatized (if she eats) . . .

Just in case that horse isnt totally dead; Im gonna give him one more whack:
He's a coward; he's a liar; he caused the death of 3 people; he is a threat to any /all human life. The details have been laid out in multiple threads.
