This has nothing to do with comparing the TTG fans to the TWD fans. I'm purely talking about the fans of the show and game against the fans of the comic. When it comes to me as a Telltale fan versus me as a Walking Dead fan, it's the fan of the comic that thinks the show fans shit up the fanbase the most. Sam and Max doesn't even come to mind when I think there's an entire demographic out there that thinks the show is watchable.

In the pre-walking dead days, on the few post were people actually responded, there was plenty of shit talking. It's never been nice. The community has always been bad. I saw one post with an employee pleading for peace on a Jurassic Park blog post.

For what it's worth, in the strictest and most exclusive definition, you haven't SEEN the "old community" yet. You've experienced like four or five; and those were the ones who like and play The Walking Dead game.

I just asked a question. Seriously not clear on what necessitated this response. I don't see the reason for a divide in fanbases and really think everyone is making way too big a deal of this, but if you're inclined to create two separates fanbases for one game, you're certainly not making a strong case that "your" fanbase is particularly respectful.
The one thing I can say about the TWD fanbase compared to the old is they are a lot more enthusiastic about the game. They complain about dates but not the game.
I'd never heard of Telltale before TWD and I'm pretty lovable, if I do say so myself.
Nobody doubts that Pride, but the whole point of this post is that with all the good that TWD has brought to Telltale, it has brought some trolls as well. That is who the original poster was talking about, and not yourself unless you intend to make an ass of yourself running around posting comments where they have no business being.
Personally, I do find some people annoying but don't qualify them based on when they began posting. I don't think I'll be that into Fables (not that I know anything about it yet though) so I plan on integrating into the "shitted up" fanbase.

I feel like you are missing the point. A while ago, there was a blog post about Sam and Max, and instead of it being about that, it was BOMBARDED with angry Walking Dead fans. Now Now. I'm new to this whole community. Not a ton of people are like that. I personally can wait as long as they want for another release. Would it i like it sooner? Yes. Am I going to yell at them if they don't? No

It's not so much the case with other games.
There's a visible shift in complaint topics, I agree that much. But first of all, there's a reason release date complaints were on the rise this time, which is that Telltale could not keep the advertised monthly schedule, not even by the usual five to six week definition.
This has nothing to do with the TWD fanbase. The BTTF fans might have reacted in the same way had they been confronted with a one month delay right off the bat. The Sam & Max fanbase, well, they at least have a fighting chance to have escaped their slight mobification - as after three Seasons, they have the firm expectation that Telltale will eventually deliver; and a LOT of these people have already argued three to five years ago that Telltale shouldn't "rush things" and "take their time" to make a better episode. Experience isn't gathered with a single game, and trust isn't spilled easily if your first experience is a negative one.
And second, yes, there are of course complaints 'about the game'! About this character killed and that character killed; about choices without lasting consequences; about the psychological depth and believability of the characters; about comic/novel canon violations - and so on. And if these topics are addressed in a calm manner, well, that's exactly what most of the community is here to do, to not passively digest this story, but to voice opinion about it too, criticism included.
I love The Walking Dead so far. I think it's the best thing Telltale's done since The Devil's Playhouse

There are no "fuddy duddy" people telling others to get off their lawn. There are people who have been legitimately offended and hurt by the unacceptable and inappropriate behaviour of others (as Vainamoinen has previously mentioned, in addition to the generally beligerant behaviour on the blog and elsewhere, there've also been very direct and targeted acts of hate against individuals), and I find the dismissal of that to be tremendously uncool.

It's very obvious that I'm not talking about general release date complaints. Your ability to misinterpret, misconstrue and misappropriate the words of others almost seems intentional.
Are you denying Vainamoinen's account of people being stalked? Are you denying lucidity02's account of being attacked on these forums? Are you denying that comments like "walk off and die," "It shows how pathetic and imapteint you are," "So shut your mouth and go play your stupid dog and rabbit kiddie game," are more hurtful than saying that people who say that sort of stuff are "huge jackasses" (as if being accused of being a large mule is particularly offensive anyway)? Are you denying that comments like "All these people saying they don't care about Sam and Max make me want to cry.
In case you're not aware, you are coming across as unnecessarily aggressive, and I'd like to ask you to please consider your attitude when posting. You can refute my arguments without resorting to cheap inflamatory or snide remarks like "Wow. You have things so backwards," "Way to stick with your guns," or repeatedly attempting to use my own words against me.
I find your comments to be amusing, but I am know there are others who would find them offputting and chose to not participate in the discussion because of that - which wouldn't be a very nice outcome, and is (at least in part) the sort of thing that we would hope to prevent by discouraging the kind of behaviour that this thread is about.

Not all of us are bad you can't judge an entire book by its cover. Plus this is a breakthrough to tell tayle games. This is what they wanted isn't it? high success rating. With this game being this good bringing in new fans which is great for business. Keeps them floating.
There's a visible shift in complaint topics, I agree that much. But first of all, there's a reason release date complaints were on the rise this time, which is that Telltale could not keep the advertised monthly schedule, not even by the usual five to six week definition.
This has nothing to do with the TWD fanbase. The BTTF fans might have reacted in the same way had they been confronted with a one month delay right off the bat. The Sam & Max fanbase, well, they at least have a fighting chance to have escaped their slight mobification - as after three Seasons, they have the firm expectation that Telltale will eventually deliver; and a LOT of these people have already argued three to five years ago that Telltale shouldn't "rush things" and "take their time" to make a better episode. Experience isn't gathered with a single game, and trust isn't spilled easily if your first experience is a negative one.
And second, yes, there are of course complaints 'about the game'! About this character killed and that character killed; about choices without lasting consequences; about the psychological depth and believability of the characters; about comic/novel canon violations - and so on. And if these topics are addressed in a calm manner, well, that's exactly what most of the community is here to do, to not passively digest this story, but to voice opinion about it too, criticism included.
