Okay - back on topic, please. :)
  • edited December 2007
What was the topic? Oh, right.

I notice a trend in titles this season: they all seem to be puns on culturally important movies that I feel bad for not having heard of.

Except Night of the Living Dead. I saw that one.

If it makes you feel any better, that's the only one I've actually seen, too.

Well, I've heard of Mo' Better Blues, but never seen it.

But ya, only movie I've seen that the titles Parody is Night of the Living Dead.
  • edited December 2007
Maybe I've seen that movie, but the translation of the title could've been different...like "Star Wars" - "Wars of the Stars" or "Basic Instinct" - "Raw Passions"...whoever translated that ought to get fired. Idiot...

There's a site that translates phrases through multiple languages and back again, leading to similar results. I want to translate some movie scripts with that and see what comes out.
  • edited December 2007
Screw that! Let's translate some Sam & Max dialouge from English to French to Chinese and back into English again!!
  • edited December 2007
*Goes to find quote threads* Be back with results soon :D

EDIT: English to japanese and back again.

    Original quote:

Sam: I wonder what causes these inanimate objects to dance their infernal jitterbug.
Max: I think it's all controlled by really big magnets beneath the Earth's crust.
Sam: You're an ignorant dolt, Max.

    New quote:

Sam: I jitterbug of what kind of cause inhumanity think in these inanimante thing intended doubts which dance.
The highest: I think of that it is managed completely by the magnet where that under the crust really is large.
Sam: The highest it is the stupid person who does not know.
("Max" translated into "The Highest" :D)

OQ: Sweet mother of double jeopardy backstroking in butterscotch!
NQ: The mother whose backstroking double danger is sweet with butter Scotch!

    One more...

OQ: Max: Why don't I get an inventory?
Sam: Where would you keep it?
Max: That's none of your damn business, Sam.

NQ:The highest: Don't I why obtain the catalog?
    Sam: It maintains that somewhere?
The highest: That none of the businesses where you are ugly, is SAM.

How appropriate that Max's name get's changed to "The Highest". Someone should start a religion of him just for that fact alone. :D
  • edited December 2007
Hehehe, my thoughts exactly. Also, my new insult to use will be "That none of the businesses where you are ugly, *name of insulted person here*"
  • edited December 2007
    Engrish is so awesome.

Sam: Someone once told me the contents of a lava lamp make an excellent hand cream.

    Max: That was me!

Sam: Which is why I haven't tried it.
Sam: Someone called the fact that the cream of the hand whose contents of one time lava lamp are excellent is made to me.

    The highest: That was I!

Sam: I why did not try that, whether is, either one."

    The highest: That was I!

 What would lead you to believe that the minigame from Hit the Road is back in this episode? (it's not... and why would it be? that mini-game was awkward and impossible to figure out)
