Oh shit, it is as well. Is it weird I remember her being darker skinned?

(Also, the second picture's Captain Falcon with a Metroid-style suit. Took me a minute to figure it out)

    It's probably Murray's, actually.

I just thought she was fat. :P

More accurately, it's an amalgamation of Captain Falcon, Samus, Batman, and Iron Man. It's also batshit insane.

And it's also known as Captain Iron Power Batman. This is important.

I cannot be bothered to create a custom video with all the Mario Kart tracks I've picked (I tried, but it was taking WAY too long), so here's the tracklist with videos made by other people showing off each track.

Bear in mind that all I've done is replace the tracks (and messed around with the menus), so the music for these tracks is usually wildly inappropriate. It does all work though, so yays for that.

    Original > Replacement

    Luigi Circuit > Wetland Woods
Moo Moo Meadows > Bouncy Farm
Mushroom Gorge > Concord Town (due to me placing this track in slot 1.3, there's some fog on the long straight around the corner from the bridge, but it doesn't look particularly bad)
    Toad's Factory > Kirio's Raceway

Mario Circuit > Green Hill Zone
Coconut Mall > Castle of Time
    DK Summit > Mushroom Hill
Wario's Gold Mine > Hyrule Castle (first track on video)

    Daisy Circuit > Desert Bone
    Koopa Cape > Seasonal Circuit
Maple Treeway > Slot Circuit (LOVE this one)
    Grumble Volcano > Volcanic Skyway

Dry Dry Ruins > SADX Twinkle Circuit (probably the only good thing about Sonic Adventure :p )
Moonview Highway > Halogen Highway (needs to be in this slot because of the cars)
    Bowser's Castle > Lunar Spaceway
Rainbow Road > NGC Rainbow Road (couldn't find another original 'space' track, so went with a classic)

NGC Peach Beach > GP Mario Beach (this is from the Mario Kart arcade game, of all things!)
DS Yoshi Falls > NGC Mushroom Bridge
SNES Ghost Valley 2 > NGC Daisy Cruiser
N64 Mario Raceway > DS Airship Fortress

NGC Sherbert Land > Penguin Cave
GBA Shy Guy Beach > GBA Lakeside Park (NOT a fan of this one, but any track that uses this slot [6.2] HAS to include the Shy Guy Ship that fires bombs onto the track, and very few custom tracks use that, so...)
DS Delfino Square - Rockside River
NGC Waluigi Stadium - Sunset Raceway

(Playing as Diddy Kong is practically mandatory on these 4)
DS Desert Hills > DKR Ancient Lake
N64 DK's Jungle Parkway > DKR Jungle Falls
GBA Bowser's Castle 3 > DKR Haunted Woods
NGC Mario Circuit > DKR Star City

(And these 4 practically BEG you to play as Mario)
SNES Mario Circuit 3 > SMS Sirena Beach
DS Peach Gardens > SM64 Castle Grounds (a little rough, but the novelty of it just won me over)
    NGC DK Mountain > SM64 Bob-Omb Battlefield
    N64 Bowser's Castle > SM64 Whomp's Fortress

I'm not so keen on the ones that are basically rips of levels from mario games. They look confusing! The rest all seem cool. I quite like the DKR ones, personally. Only Rareware could make such bland tracks so awesome. I mean, when you think about it most of the tracks in DKR were just ovals, or ovals with a slight kink!

    Really? I never noticed.

That probably reflects well on Rare, to be honest. :p

Just for kicks, here's a few screenies.

    PI2zkZg.png
Remember that screen that flashes up telling you to be careful with your Wii Remote? Not any more!
(And yes, that is my XBox Avatar. Complete with ponytail.)

    nvndJUb.png
Custom title screens are awesome, even if all you do is add a bit of text.

    MOjtO3C.png
Two things to spot here. Me on the right, and the tweaked bit of text on the top-left.

    v37nFSG.png
Showing off the fact I've got custom track names working on all the menus.
Also, did you notice it's a slightly different font than normal? I'm willing to bet 'no'.

    t6bbcmo.png
The intro to Slot Circuit. Look at all that info in the corner! On multiple lines! Didn't get THAT in the original game.

    RNDnsrZ.png
And again for the Mushroom Hill retexture. Woo.

Also, I'm quite happy to share the collection. It's in the form of a patch (to keep it nice and legal), and you need to run a batch file to make it compile whatever. I've been using it to create a custom .iso that I run in Dolphin, but apparently it also creates a CTGP-style setup you can run using Riivolution, so... yeah.

Well, I just finished Mario Kart 7 (star ranking on all cups, all speeds). And realised that the majority of the courses are incredibly generic. For example, the generic Ice race is called "Rosalina's ice world". What about it, precisely, makes it hers? Most of the races just feel like they've been shoe-horned into the mario theme, which doesn't really work.

I really wish they'd do Super Karting bros or something. To inject some fresh meet into the series. That way we can get Captain Falcon back, and I can stop feeling angry because MK8 means that F-zero is unlikely to return (the franchises could be seen by the larger market as too similar.)

Also, if I ever get round to homebrew (when I get a wii U, my wii will be my new toy to experiment with!), I'll give your compilation a shot!

OK, say what you want about EA, but their new 'Request Refund' policy is one thing they do better than Steam.

I accidentally bought Dead Space 1 instead of DS2 (though quite why it let me do that when I already had DS1 in my library is baffling, since I have two copies of the same game now), and instead of having to jump through a thousand hoops as you would on Steam, it was as simple as going through my order history and clicking the 'Request Refund' option, then going through a brief couple of drop-down questions.

Far and away simpler than anything Steam would have you do - though Steam wouldn't have let me buy myself a second copy of a game I already own, so... yeah. Win some, lose some, I guess.

I’m doing another haunted house this year. This time around, I’m doing a room with a strobe light and a fog machine, where a bunch of fake body parts and hung really low from the ceiling and you have to push them out of your way. Waiting on the other side is a guy in a butcher’s outfit carrying a chainsaw.

Does Origin allow you to return a game if it doesn't work on you system? That's what I hate about PCs, and what puts me off getting a lot of games, like the steam version of Simcity 4.

Dead Space 2 (since it's clearly not coming in the Humble Bundle) and DS3: Awakening.

Truly, I am the devil incarnate.

    Lemme check quick.

EDIT: There's not a specific option for "It doesn't work on my system", but there's a couple of other options ("It's too buggy" being my personal favourite, with "I can't connect to servers" being a close second), and you can always select 'Other' and add in the exact problem as a comment. They'd probably be cool with it.

Bear in mind that if you actually play a game (or try to, anyway), you can only request a refund within 24 hours of first launching it. If you haven't even touched the thing, then you get 7 days. Be aware of this!

EDIT 2: Just got my refund. That took about... two hours? [Checks] Two and a half. That's pretty good.

EDIT 3: I take everything back. They've given me a refund on my copy of Dead Space... and removed both copies. Fucking idiots. And I can't contact them either, because they apparently don't have an e-mail address I can contact - it's either a service advisor or Facebook/Twitter, and neither of those seem particularly reliable.

This is fucking BULLSHIT. It's 1 in the morning and I cannot wait another fucking hour until an advisor is free to handle my case. I just... this is fucking bullshit. All I want is an e-mail address so I can shoot off a message and get someone to deal with it later, but NO. Gotta be a live advisor. FUCK YOU, EA.

    Oh, fuck off.

And the chat session is bullshit as well.
I understand the feeling knowing that you are having issues with your game, Apparently your concern landed on a different queue. I will be forwarding this case to the proper team. Please stay on the chat session. Okay.
And now I've spent 10 minutes waiting for another person to actually talk to me (and I'm STILL WAITING). Christ, WHY THE FUCK CAN I NOT JUST SEND YOU AN E-MAIL, EA?

EDIT: Gave up and tried again, only now the wait time has suddenly jumped from 5 minutes to 45. FUCK YOU EA.

    EDIT 2: Uh...
Would you please mind holding for couple of moments while I find something useful for you?
Not the best choice of words...

    EDIT 3:
Good bye mate and take care
Oh, that just felt wrong. And don't say "cheers!", please.

It's all sorted now, thankfully. Not sure I'll be trusting EA for a while, but hey ho. We'll see.

As opposed to Valve, who asks you 6 times if you want to remove it, has no clear support subtopic for refunding games, and if you want one game from a bundle removed they have to remove the whole bundle of it's tied to the same key.

Well, I seem to have caught Marsden's depression. Yay.

I've no idea what triggered it, but I feel angry, on the verge of tears and utterly deflated. Someone cheer me up, before I start breaking things.

Ah, wondered where that had gone. I've just been left with a sense of world-weariness and frustration. It's not nearly as interesting.
