    More facts, more links!
Sausage links are an alternative name for breakfast sausage, a small pork sausage that is usually served at breakfast in the United States.

However, sausage in general has a history much older than that nation, or even most modern nations, since the first known sausage was served in ancient Mesopotamia.

    Ohhh Rime looks cool.

    Vita: Price drop to $199

Vita Memory card prices slashed. Still expensive but with the new MSRP I think retail sales will get them into the territory where I'd buy the biggest one.

Rime is a new PS4 "open world adventure game"(their words) with that kind of beautiful, magical style that doesn't come around often enough and is extremely hard to really pull off.

New Tearaway trailer! This game is a bigger part of why I bought a Vita than most of you would ever realize. There's so many small, "unnecessary" touches that show a lot of care was put into making a digital world feel handcrafted, and I really can't look at footage of this game without beaming(and, during this trailer, making an audible gasp of joy).

Murasaki Baby is a Vita-exclusive touch-based puzzle game that looks like Edward Gorey illustrations come to life, and I love the creepy/cute stylings of it.

PS Vita: Conversations with Creators. Again Sony publicly and loudly proclaim a commitment to smaller studios and innovative indie experiences.

    A bunch of indie announcements!

“Indie brings us a vital dimension, being the best place to play has always meant supporting a broad range of experiences. Whether that be PaRappa the Rapper on the original PlayStation or last year’s Journey on PS3. We wanted to provide gamers with endless variety of beautiful, challenging and endless variety of fantastic experiences. And the passion of small teams is critical in transforming that goal into reality. We have been taking the launch of the PS4 as an opportunity to elevate the presence of these indie teams further. On the technolgy we support Unity. On the business side we fully support self publishing on all platforms so it is possible for the developers to maintain creative and financial control. We’re supporting indie development financially in many ways, through loaner devkits, our incubation program and direct support. We’ve been reaching out to innovative teams, to ensure that their projects make their exclusive console debut on PlayStation.

As a consequence we believe that a renaissance of gaming is coming on PlayStation 4. Heavy content will thrive on the platform but in many ways will also result in to creative freedom and broad content that made the early years of the PlayStation so unforgettable."

"And while others have shifted their message and changed their story, we were consistent in maintaining policies and a model that is fair and in tune with consumers' desires."
OH! AND I forgot to mention that one of my most anticipated Vita games, Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, is going to be FREE on PS4 and PS Vita through the PS+ Instant Game Collection on release. That's insane! Sony, Nicalis, I was GOING to pay you for that port! You didn't have to GIVE it to me!

Also, a NEW TEASER for the port!

Ugh. I am never going to get this custom Mario Kart Wii thing done.

I've only got one cup to go, and I can't seem to find 4 good tracks that fit a theme to go in it. My latest attempt (Mountain) failed when one track was just crap, two were Ok and the fourth was supposedly 'almost Nintendo quality' but far too unrefined to even remotely have that claim. I will never understand why people want to include Bouncy Mushrooms in their tracks when they're SO unpredictable, to the point where every on single lap I will, without fail, lose my place because I got screwed over by the damn things.

...oh well. Back to the list of custom tracks to try and find some others. Sigh.

Tonight, I saw Heart doing Led Zeppelin with Jason Bonham. It was pretty damn awesome. My ears are still ringing a little.

Only four concerts by age 25 seems like a low number, but they were all pretty awesome, so I'm not complaining.

It's incredible how that stuff can just jump back into your mind at the most inopportune moments (even after decades, I tell you!!). But there's no way around living and letting live eventually. High school is behind you. Leave the high schoolers behind as well. :(

Oh I hope they will release it here. But if they do I doubt it will be the limited edition you get. I'd so love to get that one but I refuse to pay the price for these extras alone since the game is completely useless to me thanks to region-locking. :(

I had my car in for its MOT today. It went in at 11, and I was told it would take less than an hour. It took them 4, so when they finally rang I was bricking it, assuming It had exploded and taken down the whole neighbourhood or something.

    It hadn't.

Honestly, the worst was middle school. And I've gotten to the point were I literally can't wait until we have a reunion so I can indulge in the visceral pleasure of lording about how being a nerd actually turned out to be a huge benefit in the long run. I used to dread those things, but now I feel I a) don't care what those people think of me (actually, I never really did, but I acknowledged that I might have to deal with them again) and b) am really curious about what they ended up doing with their lives.

Really, some of them could barely get through reading a paragraph in the eighth grade. Where do you go from there?

Oh, I seriously hope not. Thankfully, though, I don't think any of them were particularly charismatic, so I don't have to worry about them getting very far.

Oh, you know quite well that our politicians are well schooled. They have at least learnt to copy and paste, which has brought them all the way through university.

Working on a small RPG soundtrack, free to use for all, since I'll be using CC-BY.

For those interested, here's the first song I've made, specifically for gentle towns.

I might need to create a SoundCloud account.

    YES!!!

My collection of custom Mario Kart Wii tracks is now at a point where I'd feel happy releasing it! Woo!

I'll try and cobble together a video showing it all off tomorrow. Sleepy time is now.

My move to a new PC case is not going as smoothly as I would have liked. On one hand, the things I thought I was going to screw up are working just fine. On the other hand, stuff I thought couldn't go wrong are going horribly wrong.

The guide and design book is useless. The slipcover is a big cardboard sleeve. The soundtrack is neat, but I don't think it's incredibly long. Not sure. I didn't open the soundtrack.

Not only has everyone from HS gone on to be successful in everything they do, but they're all incredibly charismatic....and hateful. At least one person acknowledged his hatefulness.....doesn't mean I'm just going to naively believe it without action instead of words.
  • edited August 2013
Don't words have, as a prerequisite, the most important action of all? Somebody had the necessary empathy and introspection required to acknowledge that another human being had feelings that they had hurt, that apologizing would be the best course of action, and the willingness to actually go through with it, even if that meant facing somebody who hated them?

I don't know, it seems like it's a difficult argument to make that it's unimportant. Maybe it's time to let go of the bitterness already. At least this once.
  • edited August 2013
Maybe.....I can let go of the bitterness regarding him....but he's friends with a hundred people worse than he is, and they all hate me. It's a bees nest.

I was just doing the same. Something either isn't connected right or I fucked up some hardware. I got it transferred and started it up and ....the dreaded hardware issue beeps. I had to go to work and I'm about to just start taking another stab at troubleshooting.

I went from having a weird graphics card issue to finding myself in a boot loop for two hours when I tried to fix it. Now I'm back to where I started.

    32, so it'll be a long video. :p

Fixed mine. Even though it's NOT the beep code it gave me, the issue was with the RAM. One stick managed to wiggle itself out juuuuust enough to cause an issue, but not enough to be noticeable.

Time to sleep. Good luck and keep fighting the good fight, Dashing.

Maybe it's just me, but I have no idea who either of those pictures are supposedly depicting.

Also, Origin is having a sale on a bunch of games for GamesCon. I'm tempted to get Dead Space 2, but I can't remember if it's going to pop up as a bonus for the Humble Origin Bundle. Should I buy it now, or wait and see?

(Also, why would you get the Mass Effect Trilogy for £20 when the three games can be bought individually for £12? Are Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station really worth the remainder? I'm thinking NO.)
