I had a dream last night that I was doing maths. Trigonometry, I think.

My old teacher would be so proud...

Well, most of the people on this forum are men. One of them is MtnPeak. You do the math.

    TITTIES DON'T HAVE BIRTHDAYS!

In completely unrelated news, my undergrad university was just named third best in the world, and still remains best public university. My current school is 6th best in the world, so apparently I downsized.

    TITTIES DON'T HAVE BIRTHDAYS!

Sure, they do. Most people just don't celebrate them.

EDIT: I took that completely literally. I didn't realize you were equating women with titties. Does that mean I have a problem? When my brain doesn't automatically understand the idea that women and titties are the same thing to someone, even in a joking or satirical sense?
  • edited August 2013
I wish everyone had that problem.

I want to approach the subject with a logical and well-reasoned position, but then someone said the word TITTIES and now I can't stop giggling, so clearly I'm the wrong person for the job.

Weird thing is, I'd probably be giggling even if I wasn't drunk. What does that say about me?
  • edited August 2013
That there is no reason to get drunk in the first place.

Speaking of titties, I've been playing Conker's Bad Fur Day again. I love that game and it's British immaturity.

But holy shit does that look painful.

Yes, those leaves look very sharp and pointy.

New computer case has USB 3.0 headers on the front.

I assumed that, since there are two rear USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard that there would ALSO be onboard USB 3.0 that I could route to the front.

    NOPE.

Instead of the one 19-pin USB 3.0 socket I need, I have support for EIGHT USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard that I can't even use for anything. YAY.

While you watch that, I'll watch Two Best Friends Play Rustlemania episodes.

    Jimmies will be rustled.

Seems I'll be solving my USB problem by buying one of these. I already have a card with four USB 2.0 ports in one of my expansion slots, so when I replace it with this I'll be swapping out four rear USB 2.0 ports for two rear and two front USB 3.0 ports.
  • edited August 2013
No shut up! We don't talk about that anymore!

Spent all day yesterday helping my sister move all of her stuff from here to her new apartment. Everything hurts.

On the plus side, when I came home, I finally had her old desktop computer, which was identical to mine when we bought them. Apparently it's had some work done, because while I was expecting a GeForce 8300 GS card to test my PCI Express slot with, I found a GeForce 9500 GT when I opened the thing. I was kind of annoyed, but it totally works, so I put in the order for my new card.

It's so damn weird to be back on my desktop PC after almost three months.

Holy shit, I cannot believe just how many Steam keys I've accumulated in the three months I haven't had my PC. It's going to take quite a while to redeem them all, and I hope I haven't forgotten any of them.

When I figured out what the problem was and spent a decent chunk of time searching out the invisible, unsearchable posts that were causing it. There's still a few threads that do it, but every time I notice it, I don't have the time to fix it, and so I keep forgetting which threads have the problem.

Rate The Last Movie(s) You Watched is one of them . . . and 85 pages long.

I have an 85 page long topic? I'll catch up to you yet, Guru.

This thread is 2000 pages long. I was searching for the problem area in 50 page chunks. 85 pages will be nothing.

Edit: It's fixed. Turns out the two problem posts were on page 3. If you guys would like to know the cause, just know that it usually has to do with threads that were posted in by certain Saucerfoot accounts.

Tonight is the night that I listened to Rather Dashing maniacally sing the Super Mario Bros. theme and slowly break down into sobbing.

I hate my friends. I only want to know people who like what I like. I'm tired of hearing from everyone all the time how shitty what I like is. And now an ex high school friend wants to know everything they did to me to apologize. Fucking bullshit. Just wants to feel better about himself. I hate my life.

    Edit:
I don't really hate my friends. I'm just being silly.

As a matter of fact, he's still of a nobler sort. Because the norm is, the second they've got their diploma, those high school 'classmates' are immediately forgetting that they've done anything to you at all. Usually, six years later, they're sending you friendship invites on facebook as if you've been the best friends back in the day. It's so god damn irritating. These are events you've lived through as the ultimate social hardship. And they're just forgetting. I'd want at least one or two of them to at least remember what they've done - or be interested in what they've done.

You have no obligation to respond though. If you don't want to, just don't.

The best hangout moment we've ever had.

And I know it's great of this guy to look me up for these reasons, but I guess I'm just really defensive. I met him when I was five, and he had over a decade to care about me. I'm not going to just make it easy. I want to make sure he's on the level.

I guess it's either some kind of matriarchic pagan tradition originating in the Appalachian Mountains or a euphemism for some kind of porn.

    What is Appalachian granny magic?
It stems from the granny women from the Appalachian and the Ozark mountain regions of the United States (and, as an side-note is where the idea of Granny from Beverly Hillbillies came from) that were midwives and practitioners of alternative medicine (and often the only practitioners of healthcare in the poorer regions).

Granny women were believed to have magical abilities due to the belief system of the people of the region, which is a blend of different types of witchcraft. The belief system of the people of the Appalachian mountain region is believed to have connections to Irish (due to the settlers in the region) and Cherokee belief systems as well.

A summary of the beliefs and practices of Appalachia Magic can be found here.

    FINE, SONY.

I get it. The PS4 is something I will buy. Thank you. I don't need...

...why yes, that is lovely. In fact that is beautiful to the point of moving a person to tears. But I already committed to buying it, so I just....

....Sony, nobody else knows what that game is. At this point you're only doing this conference for me because I doubt anybody else cares about this title. Sony! What are you doing?! Get your mouth off my dick RIGHT NOW

    Vita: Price drop to $199

Vita Memory card prices slashed. Still expensive but with the new MSRP I think retail sales will get them into the territory where I'd buy the biggest one.

Rime is a new PS4 "open world adventure game"(their words) with that kind of beautiful, magical style that doesn't come around often enough and is extremely hard to really pull off.

New Tearaway trailer! This game is a bigger part of why I bought a Vita than most of you would ever realize. There's so many small, "unnecessary" touches that show a lot of care was put into making a digital world feel handcrafted, and I really can't look at footage of this game without beaming(and, during this trailer, making an audible gasp of joy).

Murasaki Baby is a Vita-exclusive touch-based puzzle game that looks like Edward Gorey illustrations come to life, and I love the creepy/cute stylings of it.

PS Vita: Conversations with Creators. Again Sony publicly and loudly proclaim a commitment to smaller studios and innovative indie experiences.

“Indie brings us a vital dimension, being the best place to play has always meant supporting a broad range of experiences. Whether that be PaRappa the Rapper on the original PlayStation or last year’s Journey on PS3. We wanted to provide gamers with endless variety of beautiful, challenging and endless variety of fantastic experiences. And the passion of small teams is critical in transforming that goal into reality. We have been taking the launch of the PS4 as an opportunity to elevate the presence of these indie teams further. On the technolgy we support Unity. On the business side we fully support self publishing on all platforms so it is possible for the developers to maintain creative and financial control. We’re supporting indie development financially in many ways, through loaner devkits, our incubation program and direct support. We’ve been reaching out to innovative teams, to ensure that their projects make their exclusive console debut on PlayStation.

As a consequence we believe that a renaissance of gaming is coming on PlayStation 4. Heavy content will thrive on the platform but in many ways will also result in to creative freedom and broad content that made the early years of the PlayStation so unforgettable."

"And while others have shifted their message and changed their story, we were consistent in maintaining policies and a model that is fair and in tune with consumers' desires."
