Game dev Tycoon its a real simple game to be honest and its my first tycoon game but i absolutly love it and i also like that even tough i make the same military based game over and over again i still get amazing reviews :P if you know what im talking about.
I realy like the story elements that they implemented , the only negatives i have to say are that they couldnt get the licenses for the consoles and have to name the xbox "mbox" and the playstation is the "playsistem" and for all the consoles they have ridicolus name but its not really their fault and the other negative is that when you start off it can take a while to get the first hit game and make money since your very limited on your resources when you start out .
Ive almost completed the game and its alot of fun to make games , hire staffe , get scamed by nigerian people hack into other company software and research so many things that your mind will go insane. Besides the game never ends , the story elements end but not the game im currently on year 25 and there is 30 years of story but i will continue to play the game maybe till year 50-60 until i stop playing . And we cant forget about the best thing of all MAKING GAME DEV TYCOON INSIDE GAME DEV TYCOON
I was in the mood for a short game yesterday, so I played Save the Date. I had heard some good things about it but what I experienced kind of knocked me off my feet (or it would have if I hadn't been slouching on the sofa).
The game is probably best described as something like 12:01 PM or Groundhog Day, only interactive. It's philosophical and meta, clever and witty and it manages to balance these elements extremely well.
You'll finish it in about an hour and you'll come away with a very memorable experience. And the best part is that it's available for the low, low cost of absolutely nothing and is available for both Linux, Windows and Mac.
Mass Effect 2's combat is better, but Mass Effect 1's story is better. Also, I personally prefer driving the Mako in ME1 (akin to Halo's Warthog) instead of orbital mining in ME2.
I heard Mass Effect 3 is a decent game now that they fixed the ending, but I haven't played it yet.
After playing it with the new and improved ending... not really.
It was very much a game of very narrow corridors. Railroaded doesn't even start to cover it. It was similar to ME2 in that way, but ME2 still gave you more freedom and the Citadel still felt big even if it wasn't really as big as in the first game. And unlike ME2, you don't even get those fun little character side quests (which were actually my favorite part of ME2... well, for the characters I liked. It wasn't as fun with the characters I didn't like).
Maybe it was because I had just played Bioshock Infinite and really had a feeling for how fun a shooter-RPG could be, but I just would look at the laundry list of quests that got set out for me at the beginning of each section and I realized that the game was more like work than I want a game to be. Because you start off knowing that you won't get the best ending unless you do all the quests, get all the cats out of the tree, collect all the improvements for your weapons, etc... I dunno... it just wasn't fun for me to do that.
I guess I prefer to be rewarded with extra bits of story for my alternate quests, not just a space cheque and a "thanks, man".
Mass effect 3 because of the whole war thing lost all the exploration, sidequests and RPG elements and just became an average shooter...
Mass effect 2 was pretty good and improved the Gameplay but lost some of the exploration and as EA took over began to be a bit more money grabbing with 'costume' dlc

I personally disagree. I didn't like the new movement and I really hated the ammo thing.
Also the DLC crap was extremely annoying in ME2. I payed a lot more for all the DLC (some of them really not worth it at all) than for the game itself.

What is this so called dlc is it necessary to buy dlc to beat the game ?
You do not need DLC (or DownLoadable Content) to beat the game. If anything, DLC can make the game easier.
The problem is that, for what each piece of DLC offers, it can be very expensive. $5 for an extra hour or two may not sound expensive, but when you can get the entire game for $10 or so, then yeah, it doesn't hold up.
Also, most of the DLC just... isn't very good. A large number of DLC packs are new weapons and outfits, most of which break the game a little by making the game easier and therefore less challenging. Not by much, mind, but even so.
Then there's the mission-based DLC. There's four of those you'd need to pay for (the others are free with the Cerberus Network and therefore I won't begrudge them for being a bit basic. Free is free, right?)
Kasumi: Stolen Memory - Forgettable. Very short and the new character (Kasumi) isn't particularly interesting.
Overlord - Actually pretty good. The new vehicle's interesting and the mission's good, but it's also a tad short.
Lair of the Shadow Broker - Excellent. Welcome return of Liara, fantastic mission and a bunch of great set pieces.
Arrival - Nothingy. This is short and lacks imagination, flair and the series' trademark decision-making.

Seconded. Possibly one of the instances where a DLC really felt like part of the game - and consequently just feels cut out if you don't have it. I didn't have any DLC my first run through, and Liara felt all "hellogoodbye". Then again, I didn't know shit about Liara in the first place because I hadn't played part one back then. She felt really tucked on.

I am 100% certain it was cut out. For example to meet a deadline etc. Really Overlord is a really good piece of content and if you get only one of the DLCs get that one.
But then again Wrex and Ashley also feel really hello -- good bye in the second game.
Now I wonder how ME2 plays out with Wrex dead.
And anyway, I actually liked Arrival. I wouldn't say it's "nothingy."
It is okay. And then you have no choice but to destroy a planet.
And yes they clearly made it so you have to have at least heard of what happens to understand why Shepard is in trouble at the start of ME3. But then again if you play ME2 right it ends just fine and there is no ME3. I'd say it's worth a shot.
Personally I like to end the Mass Effect saga around half way through Mass Effect 1 where Saran says you cannot beat the Reapers and I then just agree with him and die and let him win...
Realistically you cannot beat the Reapers unless last minute you find some super insta-win button...
OH wait...
Gunpoint 10/10
It is GOTY brilliant stealth, brilliant branching story, good humour, good jumping, ood hacking, good level editor, good price just brilliant...

Jesus, now they're begging people to buy from Steam instead of their own site so people see it in the platform's ranking and THEREFORE start buying it.
What a fucked up industry. Don't tell me shit about who helps the indies.
But there's a demo it seems - so I might actually find out soon if it's too itty bitty for me.
I did. And here I am back in the "last game you finished" thread less than 24 hours later with a full, eight and a half hour work day in between.
Gunpoint 6/10
Yeah, it really was fun. But roughly three or maybe four hours and you're done. The RPG elements are rather poorly implemented, you don't even strive for anything. For a game with such a... well... spartan approach to graphics, I expect at least 200 levels. RAWR.
Back to the Future: The Game
Despite a very vocal hatred of the game on these forums, I actually quite enjoyed it. Sure it wasn't the most adventure-y of adventure games, but then it wasn't trying to be. It was just fun to play through.
I just wish the locations/timezones were a bit more diverse. I was sick of 1930s Hill Valley by the time the first episode was done. But like a stray zombie from The Walking dead, it just kept coming back.
7.5/10

Oh I agree. I am at the penultimate mission now and only 4 hours in. There really should be more content. We'll see how many user created levels we will see in the future.
Just finished ilomilo. What a great little game. Fantastic puzzles and level design, very mind bending at times which all surrounds a sweet little story of two people who just want to be with each other. The last level was simply sublime.
I'm not going to give a score, just a recommendation.
Have notice that there is downloadable content, another story. I'll probably get it eventually but was just wondering if anyone else already had it and if so what it is. I would guess that it's another level but curious as to the size of it.

I don't think it's THAT hated...just that the haters are more vocal.
Yeah, it really was fun. But roughly three or maybe four hours and you're done.
Yeah, I've finished it too now and I'll admit it's a bit on the short side. I don't mind that but I'd feel better about it if I had bought it for half the price in a future sale.
I liked it enough that I'm still playing it to see how I can solve missions differently and do stuff like reach all the laptops for added challenge. I'm not going to 100% the achievements, but I do think some of the achievements add to the game by either adding some interesting stuff to figure out or make you see funny situations or dialog you might otherwise miss. Those are Steam exclusive though. I also want to see the other final mission. My verdict:

Hey, rather OK for one day.
I found this game in a used section of a Gamestop and immediately fell in love.
Mass Effect 2's combat is better, but Mass Effect 1's story is better. Also, I personally prefer driving the Mako in ME1 (akin to Halo's Warthog) instead of orbital mining in ME2.

GORGEOUS art, but it's really short, and the story is boring. It's rarely funny, too.
5/10

Substitute character.
/explanation
There isn't anything to be won or seen by dead characters in ME2 or ME3.
or so I heard.
And anyway, I actually liked Arrival. I wouldn't say it's "nothingy."

This whole game is just dumb, extremely violent, and fun as hell.
Dead Island Riptide 7/10
I’ve played better zombie first-persons.
It's like it has always been. As an Indie you are either on Steam or you aren't selling much. Deal With It.
I'm doing exactly that. By going boom.

I read that you get 8000$ for it in the steam community section and I am at that one now.
I REALLY like it too but it clearly isn't Game Of The Year material.
It's not 6 points mediocre either.
One of extremely fun game

Isn't there also a countdown on the last three levels? I seem to remember seeing that, but I'm not 100% sure.
