Anyway, Tom Baker an Louise Jameson have started recording their first audio together today.
This means it's safe to preorder in my books. I think I'll nab the Lost Stories and Season One sometime soonish and if they record for Season 2 that's wonderful and I'd preorder that too.
Also: Watch this six second promo. Then, watch it again from the corner of your eye. AAH, GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER.
Taking mind back off the excitement trail and back onto the Sarah Jane Adventures trail, it just hit me that Episode Four of the past two series were the ones to feature the Doctor, and Episodes 1-3 have all been filmed for the season in Fall.
Theoretically, this would set up an episode where the Doctor shows up and sends the gang on their own adventures. Because it'd be just wrong to write Sarah Jane off without the Doctor there.

Y'see, I disagree. I don't really think he'd be a helpful influence in dealing with a bereavement.
That was a bloody excellent episode. Really curious to see where this is going for the rest of the season (I didn't watch the trailer at the end of the episode - I never do).
At the beginning, I was expecting
the spaceman
to be
River Song
, considering the
'Who did you kill?' 'Best man I ever knew'-thing last season
. I'm not so sure after the rest of the episode happened though. And those
Silents
are awesome. I guess a lot of kids aren't going to be sleeping tonight.
Edit: Oh, and the beginning made me think Moffat must have been playing Puzzle Agent.
Too late, I peeked. Gah. I'll get to see it in about 7 hours though, so it's all good.
I'm worse, I've been following every which spoiler so I already know that
The First Time they see the Doctor in the US it's him from the Future
,
The Silence wipe your memory of them when you look away
, and that *bigtime*
The Astronaut begins Regeneration of the Doctor at the lake within 10 minutes of the start of the episode
. I've been good at keeping out of major ones, but come later this year when we find out who River is may god save us all from the spoiler trolls plaguing the internet.
EDIT: Aaaaaaaay, The Elisabeth Sladen tribute is now available online. Actually, no it's not. Well, Yes, It is. Well, not now, but it was back then. Well, back now from your point of view, which is back then from my point of view. Wibbly Wobbley.
Wow, that was a great episode. Unfortunately I was late watching it because my family were watching something else, and my TV is on the blink. What got me was the amount of things from the trailer that I thought were in other episodes were in that one. And I couldn't help but think
River song is Amy's child. Now THAT would be twisted.
And that Elizabeth sladen Tribute on CBBC was beautiful. Especially seeing as though it was cobbled together in just a few days. The opening sequence was bringing tears to my eyes, and I think that If I watched it alone, I definately would have cried.Sadly no mention of the brig.
And it was a nice change with them being on location for a change, instead of A greenscreen in a welsh quarry.
Also, I hope that American guy stays. I assume he does. He was undoubtedly put in so the americans have a better connection with the series, but I still like him. He's like a non-shapeshifting-penguin Frobisher (audios/comics)
Also, Ribs: that video has been removed by the user.
It's sitting on my hard drive already, A. Six Hours Early, B. In HD, and C. With No Commercials, all things I won't get later on BBC America. I MUST WAIT THIS WILL BE SO HARD AAAAAAAARGH

Wait... BBC America has ad-breaks? Doctor Who with advert breaks just seems... wrong.

From the point of view of someone who watched it entirely on Netflix Streaming, possibly. Everything has Ad Breaks over here unless it's HBO/Showtime/Starz, etc. What's worse is BBC America on Demand doesn't have Ad Breaks, but still fades out in the middle of music and stuff, only to fade right back in where it's supposed to be. Incredibly mood killing.
Also: My only thought during the Elisabeth Sladen tribute, other then the stuff about her, was OH MY GOD WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR HAIR in regards to Matt's do.

Maybe its a part of his look for the next episode
where he has the beard his hair could have grown in lengh to
This may not make me the most popular person around, but... I didn't like it. I thought it was an awkwardly directed, bizarrely paced and just plain confusing mess.
Spoilers!
There's only so much I can take in at one time, and if I can't get to grips with it, think how little kids must feel! How did Rory and Amy get to America, and how on earth did River Song break out of prison and time-travel to the same place? What's going on with the forgetful aliens with stupid looking hands and a voice that sounds like someone's taken a cheese grater to their throats? What was the point of setting it in America if they're not making any real use out of it? Why did they reuse the not-TARDIS set from The Lodger, and why did River not comment on why it looks like a TARDIS? Why does Amy say she's pregnant, cause it kinda rules her out of being a companion is she is? What is going on with the Spacechild that presumably is the same one that kills the Doctor in the beginning of the episode, and did Amy actually shoot it or not, because the editing was so awkward I couldn't even tell? And most importantly, what the hell happened?
I don't think I've ever watched an episode of Doctor Who that's made me turn round and tell the person watching it with me 'what the hell was that?'.
Maybe next week's episode will explain everything. Maybe it'll make sense. But somehow I doubt it'll come with a magic 'make episode one good' button for me.
I just saw The Impossible Astronaut. Now that's what I expected from a Steven Moffat led Doctor Who.
They seem to be tying up some series five loose ends already since
the alien control room is the same as the one from The Lodger. Assuming they're the same aliens, it makes them even more creepy based on the alien's actions in that episode.
I really didn't expect River song to be the Rani![/spoilers]
Haha! I already know that River
Isn't a time Lord and isn't anyone we've met before
from interviews.
EDIT Post-US Airing: Boo! The BBC America added a small bit to the main titles where it showed clips from Series Five and Amy explaining who the Doctor was in narration.
I didn't see anyone complaining about it, that's how.
And re: Darth Marsden: Seriously? It was a wonderful episode because it's written by Grand Moff Tarkin, so we can be much more certain then we were with RTD's two parters that everything will be resolved without silly deus ex machinas.
Also: Hope the doctor finds his Stetson soon and wears it for 200 years.
Also Number 2: Upon rewatching the ending, I'd like to reconfirm my love for Murray Gold and his fantastic scoring.
I know how a lot of Doctor Who fans like to see links and connections between the show and their other favourite series. This can generally be an outside reference or if an actor appeared in both that and Doctor Who as well rounding up all the other actors who've appeared in both series.
Well being this a forum with heaps of Monkey Island fans, I believe I can now say that Doctor Who and Monkey Island both have a small link to each other (if you can call it that).
Spoilered for anyone who hasn't seen the new episode:
W. Morgan Sheppard who played Canton Delaware in The Impossible Astronaut also played Ignatius Cheese in Escape from Monkey Island.

I mean it's not much but it's a start!
I knew I recognised his voice from somewhere!
Anyway, I'm about to watch the episode again. I just noticed: They changed the logo!
And I wouldn't be overly confident about a lack of deus ex machina ending. Afterall, Moffat decided to ignore all previous laws of time in the finale before, with frequent paradoxes. Still, it's won't be as bad as "I'll be a god for a few minutes if people think about me".
So interesting thing I may have read: Apparently this year the episode's may not be so chronological. Meaning, at the end of Episode 9 or something Rory and Amy might leave to be prompted to 1969 by the Doctor. (Completely Made Up Number, by the way). Which'd be... interesting.
Bus to the railway station. Train. Change trains. Tube. Change onto the District Line. Alight Heathrow Airport. Fly to America. More buses.
Really don't think that needs an explanation.
Pretty bloody expensive though. How'd they afford it? (I will keep asking questions like this until you drop it)
And Ribs: like I said, I didn't think much it, but that's just me. I'm not saying nobody else should like it, just trying to explain why I didn't - basically, it made no sense. But again, that's just me.

So it's about 28 to go! Who's excited?

Also @Ribs: I don't get it. There's another similair one on the official site.
And IGN have done an article about their favourite doctors, based on TV appearances alone.
When looking in the corner of your eye, you see a silent standing right in the middle.
Darn it, I still don't see it. It must be wearing a perception filter...
3 hours to go!

They're currently filming Episode

How do we know that it was added.
I really hope they don't do that again.
My only response to this episode is WHAT!?
I didn't see anyone complaining about it, that's how.

It wasnt as simple as that. Hell it took a year (in universe) to do.
It still was the lamest of the RTD Deus Ex Machinas and turned one of the better episodes into one of the worst stories Doctor Who has ever had.
Also: Don't look now, but they also changed the font of the titles with the Cast as well. That bugs me, I liked the Series Five titles!

Oh no. That was just one of many, many problems that three-parter had. Trust me, you don't want to get me started on the RTD-written episodes.
