What setting would this be using? I'm pretty picky with my D&D, if it's not Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Eberron or Dark Sun, it can fuck right off. (ESPECIALLY YOU, GREYHAWK, NOBODY LIKES YOU) Except for Spelljammer. Everyone loves Spelljammer. What's not to love about fantasy + astrophysics?
For the record, I'd probably be making a paladin. SWORDS, NOT WORDS!

This is a homebrewed setting I concocted rather than any of the set text settings. It seemed the best way to accommodate the large number of players and lets me vary missions easily to keep things from getting to boring on you guys.
Also, Spelljammer (ELVES....IN SPAAAAAAAAAACE) was great in theory, but I've never had a good game in that scenario. My DM tended to kill us 1 or 2 missions in.
Well the setting is basically, "Our subcontinent has an abundance of ruins. You are an adventurer or treasure hunter taking assignments from your respective Guilds. Go to said ruins, punch out anything in your way and finish the mission given to you by the guild, be it collecting treasure, exploring or just clearing out monsters." so it could really go either way, depends on how you guys want to play it.
If you're serious about wanting to do doing this campaign and you don't know how to play, I'd recommend that you start with a pre-existing race and picking one of the original classes. Just for the first campaign.
Alright, so quick update, just because I've been organizing stuff for the campaign pretty much all today between falling asleep on my keyboard, doing laundry and going to class briefings.
On the DMing side of things, I've got two missions put together already and I'm working on a third just to make sure that we're covered both in case we blow through the first mission faster than I expected or in case some real life stuff decides to gutpunch me sometime in the near future.
I've got both skype adresses and character sheets from the following players (thus confirming them as members of the campaign):
Tom
Tope
Icedhope
Corruptbiggins (by the way, you put up three character sheets, which one are you using for the campaign?)
Remolay
DoctorCello
Fawful
RetroVortex
DivisionTen
GuruGuru214
Avistew and ShaggE, I have you noted down as possible semi-NPC players and Jen Kollic marked down as a interested player.
From those of you who're confirmed, just a reminder that I need you to start looking at what days/times work for you. We'll then look at the whole time difference issue and find what works best for everyone.
Starting Tuesday, I'm on winter break until April 1st, o I'm fairly flexible. I will be in Hokkaido for one week and unavailable (Feb 7th-13th)
Other than my Saturday morning from 8AM to 2PM (that's NYC time 6PM to midnight on Friday) when I tutor English, I'm fairly free. Since my timezone is so far off from everyone else's, I'll be willing to wake up in the middle of the night one day a week if it's the only way to properly coordinate this. I'm in GMT +9 hours, so I know it's hard.
Starting at Saturday night at 7PM for the poster who is in GMT-7 would be 11 in the morning on Sunday, and fine by me.
I'm also at GMT -7. I'm free pretty much every night except most Tuesdays and Saturdays, though I could swing those too if it's either early on Tuesday or late on Saturday.
Of course, evenings might be an issue here, as they'd be the wee hours of the morning for our DM in the UK. Here's a visual reference.
It looks like if those of us in the US can manage late night on Saturday and mgrant can handle getting up early Sunday morning, then divisionten lucks out and gets Sunday afternoon. Otherwise, the best we can manage is sometime in the afternoon, making it late night for mgrant and early morning for divisionten.

Another option is doing Saturday Morning for those in the US, Sat afternoon for the GM and Sat night for me.
Again, I'm flexible. If I need to wake up at 4 AM, I have no school or work for three months. I don't mind, honestly.
Now that I've actually got my schedule mostly finalized, I'll post my availability.
As it stands for me right now, All day Monday (Class and D&D in York) and Sunday (LARP/Persona D20 campaign) are out, as is Saturday(Stormwrack Campaign) Evening. Tuesday I've got class until around 5-ish and I've got a 2 o'clock class on Friday that ends around 4. Wednesday I've got nothing aside from the LARP RP session on campus that runs until after 11 PM, but I generally stay up 'til about 3 or 4 as it is, so if that works, I'll sleep in.
So basically, I'm available to DM Tuesday evening, Wednesday during the day and after 11, all day Thursday, Friday (except from about 1:45 to 4) and Saturday until about 6-ish.
Lets see, I'm gmt-5 and in highschool, so unfortunately saturday until about 6-ish seems like the only good time, if I remember to wake up before then (1 pm)
Basically, I sectioned out an entire week into hours, GMT. All unformatted cells are available hours. I want everybody to go in and mark any hours that they're absolutely unavailable with a strikethrough and any unformatted hours which aren't ideal for them but are technically available if necessary as bold. Hopefully that makes sense. I made it a public document that anybody with the link can edit, so a Google account isn't necessary for it.
In case anybody needs it, here's that quick reference for time zones again.
Guru did a good job of outlining my schedule pretty well a couple of posts, but just to lock it in I've already been on the doc and crossed out completely unavailable times. I'd mark off stuff in bold but a lot of it depends on either my profs letting us out earl (that'll happen on a cold day in hell) or the buses, you know, not being late. Basically stuff out of my hands.
I may now be unavailable on Tuesday evenings (from about 7 to 10, GMT), it depends on whether or not I want to play football then as I used to do that regularly but I've grown unenthusiastic with the idea recently.
I'm fine with the two hours blocked out. It's Saturday night for me.
The two hours in bold? Bold means that someone marked it as a time that's not great for them but they can make it if they have to if there isn't another good time.
As it stands right now it looks like Tues, Thurs and Fri evenings are the open times for a good session. Greg, who I added to the skype chat, can't do Thurs however, so that leaves us with Tues evening and Friday evening. Any preferences?
EDIT (IMPORTANT, ALL INTERESTED PLAYERS PLEASE READ): It has been decided via Skype chat that our sessions will be on Friday evening starting @ 10:00 PM GMT. The first one will be tomorrow, if there are no major objections. If there are it will simply happen the following week. EDIT TO THE EDIT: MY BAD, timetable is open about 2 hours earlier, @ 8:00 PM GMT, we'll try to start then, unless the original time works better.
What pantheon are you using Mgrant? Given the large amount of less-than-serious characters so far, I'm very tempted to make a weimic paladin who refers to everyone as 'my good biped'...

uhm, I hadn't selected a specific pantheon since this campaigns taking place on what is essentially a continent of travellers (my character worships Lirr, but she's a bard on the trail of seeker songs) so go nuts.
My schedule will be all over the place for the next couple of weeks, but I'd love to sit in on a session to see how it all works (if that's ok with everyone of course).
CRAP. I just realized that Friday nights GMT is the one time I can't really go. I tutor English from GMT 12:30 to well into the night for you. I can be there from 10 to midnight GMT, though. AND I WILL BE!
I sort of missed this whole thread, but I'm interested in playing. I don't think I have enough time to devote to a full on character but I'd be happy to play as a random peasant or something like that if there's still room.

For the record, I'd probably be making a paladin. SWORDS, NOT WORDS!
You should say "Sword, not words" this way they're anagrams!

Better?
This is my 2000th post
Not in the /pitch/ dark, man.
Much, he's usable for the campaign. ^.^
Not that's a fighter, woop woop!

Also a coincidence is that I don't have Skype
And who the hell added the "satanists" tag? WTF?
Who, indeed? Only the truest of bastards could have made that tag.
As for what times I'm available, well as I'm currently not working or doing anything really I can make any time right now.

Also, holy crap, Remolay is an American?
Edit: I have an idea for how to coordinate schedules. Is everybody okay with using Google Docs?
