Prepare your mind for total dulness!

I personally think Skyrim is the best Elder Scrolls title they ever released.

Now now ladies... put those handbags away.

Apropos of seemingly nothing, the following is 75% off:

    header_586x192.jpg

And yes, most of the individual games are on offer as well.

EDIT: Oh, and there's also 50% off Dinosaurs Go Home!, another bloody tower defence game.

Ahh yes, Bit.Trip Beat, or as I like to call it, "OH GOD MY EYES WHY?!" Seriously, that whole game is based on total sensory overload, and I couldn't even imagine playing it on 3DS without my eyes melting out of me skull.

2008 me is so happy right now. 2013 me realized I bought this on GOG months ago. System Shock 2 is up on Steam now for 30% off.
  • edited May 2013
Finally System Shock 2 is available outside this dodgy polish site.

Also, am I the only one amazed there's no DLC? Amazed in a good way, mind, but still...
  • edited May 2013
No. That's Torchlight standard. Every DLC would be recreated a a free mod anyway. The community is quite awesome like that.

Not DLC, but there was a fairly substantial fanmade overhaul of the game released a couple months back.

I love that Torchlight II has Workshop support now. I would not have logged half as many hours on Skyrim as I have without all the Workshop stuff I installed.

Seriously hoping they have another Sims 3 sale soon so I can get some expansions I'm missing.

Because you REALLY NEED those Katy Perry items in your Sims 3.
  • edited May 2013
The massive cost of expansion content is the main reason I have not and will never buy Sims 3. EA have saved me from myself.

The DLC is even more insulting now since EA announced The Sims 4 for a 2014 release. Probably not going to buy that either, seeing as though it will just be a stripped down Sims 3 saving all the "good" stuff for DLC. *sigh*

It also includes the overpriced crap DLC packs. They are still not cheap enough though.

...yes, again. All the DLC's on offer as well, so if there's any you missed, you can get it now. Or sometime next month when it'll no doubt be on offer yet again. Your call.

New week-long deals as well. Some amazing stuff here.

    33% off Anodyne
    50% off Critical Mass
50% off Hitman: Absolution (gotta meet those stupidly high sales targets SOMEHOW!)
    75% off Hydrophobia: Prophecy
75% off Postal 2: A Week in Paradise
75% off Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
75% off The Book of Unwritten Tales series (this includes The Critter Chronicles!)

Think 2D Zelda crossed with the darker and more mysterious aspects of Earthbound, and you're staring to get a rough idea of what this game is like. It also has suprisingly good dungeon/boss designs.

Not one to bump, but it is steam news. Steam just launched a trading card beta. Yes I'm serious. Apparently you get them to craft badges(yes, those are back) and they level up your steam profile and you get emoticons and discounts and stuff.

If anyone got in and has a spare beta invite, I'll take it :D

"Back"? I've had them sitting in my profile for awhile now.

Back as in "Hey look, there is a real purpose for them!"
Though I'm sure they were planning this for awhile now...

    I somehow want in.
To get a beta invite you must join a Steam group. Or just buy one on the steam market place.

Regarding through the Steam Card Update, reading through the FAQ I found an interesting quote:
Free to play games drop game cards based on your in-game purchasing history. If you've made purchases in-game prior to the Steam Trading Card Beta, or if you purchased TF2 prior to the Free to Play Update, you'll have 4 or 5 drops available for these games. You'll receive more card drops when you buy items in game, approximately one card drop for every $9 USD spent.

So basically if you buy more items in TF2, you're more likely to get more cards to drop for you. Well that's pretty shitty...
  • edited May 2013
That and it seems that you only get the 4 cards and then you are done and have to get the rest by trading. I don't see anything about that counter resetting for games like portal 2.

I read that as "Free to play games don't drop cards until you've actually made a purchase". Which makes sense, because otherwise you could make fake accounts, not buy games, get cards for free to play and then sell them on the community market.

That is very true. I didn't look at it from that perspective, to be honest. However $9 seems kind of pricey for something that gives you "more card drops" if one would be silly enough to buy items for such a reason, mind you.

Yeah, 9$ does seem a bit high. When TF2 went free to play, you could really just buy something for 1 buck and unlock your premium account. Even if you can only drop 5$ in your steam wallet, you could still spend the rest on some other game, rather than dropping it all in one game to unlock it's potential.

    Or a single card...

Loads of great deals over on Amazon. Here's the list of Steam games. Make sure you check the dates they go live.

(If you don't live in the US, here's how you can get around it. It's free, don't worry)

    My own personal highlights:

Batman: Arkham Collection - $11.49 (both games, both GotY editions)
Desert to Sea Bundle - $9.99 (both Bioshocks and Spec Ops: The Line)
F.E.A.R. Collection - $9.99 (the entire collection, minus the Reborn DLC for F.E.A.R. 2)
Lego Lord of the Rings for $7.50
Poker Night at the Inventory - $2.49
Sega Genesis Classic Game Pack - $8.99 (all 5 collections, almost 50 games!)
Star Trek - $24.99 (apparently includes Inversion as well, but it doesn't mention it on the page)
The Sam & Max trilogy for $9.99
The Sleeping Dogs Complete pack - $12.99 (or will be on the 29th)

Yes it does. But at least I have 5 drops there.
DOTA 2 on the other hand requires 9$ spent for a single drop. I own it but I have no drops. That would mean I'd have to spend at least 72$ in the game store to get all cards if I don't get doubles. WHYYYYYY!
And then do it X times to upgrade a badge? No sir.

If anyone is interested in Borderlands 2, Green Man Gaming has the exact same price, but you can use their 20% off coupon on it to knock is down to 11 bucks. Also, they have a 30% off coupon code that can be used on the Season Pass AND the new playable character, Kreig.

I was looking forward all week to buying Kingdoms of Amalur on sale from GamersGate today... but when I went to buy it, I realized that it requires Origin.

Don't worry, the Steam summer sale is coming up in a couple months, and the Rhode Island government finally started authorizing sales.
