btw: Dashing, I'm glad you pointed out that "Enhanced Steam" browser plugin, so that I can see from the collection page which games I already own.
Enhanced Steam is kind of neat, but it doesn't work well with the second tabbed area on the main page. There's a gray font there that is near unreadable with the green background, and when you fetch more results, none of them are marked as owned. Probably because it doesn't work with data loaded by AJAX, since the first tabbed area works and contains only data that is already on the page but hidden.
May The Fourth is itching my desire to finally buy the Mac version of KoTOR. I've never played, watched, or read anything outside the main canon of Star Wars, save for an episode or two of the Clone Wars CGI cartoon. But I've been curious about it for a few years now.
KoTOR is one of the best Star Wars games ever made, one of the best RPGs ever made and one of the best things Bioware ever made. Do yourself a favour & pick it up - it's an absolute bargain at that price and you won't regret it.
Because in an era of gaming where it's all run-shoot-kill-woo, it's nice to have a narratively strong game that makes you actually think about your actions and reflect upon them in a meaningful manner.
Also, new week-long deals. Some interesting ones here, I'll list 'em in a bit once I've eaten my din-dins.
All right, I've been waiting for the Bridge to go on sale. Not sure if I'll buy it now or wait for it to become cheaper though.
Jack Keane is the only game from Telltale's Adventure Bundle I haven't gotten around to playing yet. I got Blue Toad from my secret santa. It's pretty decent if you're a fan of puzzlers like Puzzle Agent and the Layton series, and the humor is of the dry English variety, which I think is nice. It's nowhere near Layton in puzzle quality for the most part though, and it's partially a non consequential whodunnit, so it's entertaining enough if you're into that.
Because it's a great adventure game. Really well done.
Pretty much this.
It's a bit rough around the edges and the fact it's been translated from German does show at times, but overall it's a very solid adventure game with a likeable protagonist, an interesting plot and great atmosphere.
VERY much looking forward to the sequel. Whenever that comes out.
Today's Daily Deal is 50% off...
Surprised to see that go on offer so quickly - it's barely two months old.
What's it like? The Steam page doesn't give away too much actual information.
At first glance I would have described it as your normal hack and slash, with killing monsters and doing quests to get experience, new gear and levels to get new spells. But it's got some other implemented mechanics that makes it feel different from that.
The character is controlled by the keyboard with 3 different camera styles. You need to use the dodge mechanic to avoid incoming attacks and get away from danger quickly as running in spell blazing is most likely going to get you killed, you need tactical thinking to outmanoeuvre you enemies.
They even added this strange but fun key sequence pressing to cast spells Tekken style, like up-down-left click. Although spells can be assigned a key as well. The game even has puzzles where I was stumped a few times.
It's a cooler version of Harry Potter, but instead of a wand you have a staff. And you can hit things with it, if you choose the melee oriented Blood Mage style.
Wait. How much DLC is there for this game? Dawnguard is still $20.
Just to clear this point up:
Skyrim and its DLC get 50% off deals fairly often, this deal is special mainly because the base price lowered to $30 yesterday.
The total for Skyrim's DLC is $45. Don't pay that. Wait until you can get it for $22.50, so your total is with the base game is $37.50.
If you really want to save, Hearthfire is just mediocre house building with achievements tacked on and Dawnguard isn't particularly thrilling either(and definitely not worth $20). Dragonborn is pretty great, though.
Legendary Edition will retail for $60. Whenever that goes on sale for 50% off, it'll be $30, roughly $7.50 less than buying the base game for $15 and the DLC for half-off.

Oh, and as for GamersGate?
- 75% off Disciples: Reincarnation
- 75% off Total War: Shogun 2
66% Satan.
We get all the best deals all the time.
Did I tell you about the retail copy I ordered because I wanted a CD version of the soundtrack?
EDIT: Crap. They gave me an invalid key! Lame.
EDIT 2: No they didn't, it's just a UPlay key, not a Steam one. Probably should have spotted that.
*DISCLAMER: this is not the most popular opinion.
66% off.
If you don't already have this, please get it. It was Yahtzee's GotY for Christ's sake, what more do you need?
Forgetting that, Spec Ops did have a decent story. Way blown out of proportion, though. Just led to disappointment when I got hyped up loads for it.
So, why do I want to play that?
Or something.
Again. Yawn.

- 75% off Avencast: Rise of the Mage
- 75% off Ankh 2 & 3 (Why's the first one not on Steam? Anyone?)
- 40% off Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle
- 75% off Jack Keane (recommended - I enjoyed this a LOT more than I thought I would)
- 66% off Special Forces: Team X
- 33% off The Bridge
- 50% off Trainz Simulator 12 (with various reductions on the DLC)

Midweek Madness deals:

Weekend Deals:
Also Dishonored for the same price.
And New Vegas Ultimate for $10.
Also other things.
While the quality of games is arguable, that's some wonky pricing looking at the age.
Oblivion: 4.95
Oblivion with DLC: 9.99
New Vegas: 4.95
New Vegas with DLC: 9.95
Morrowind GOTY: 3.49
Morrowind GotY: £7.49
Oblivion GotY: £7.49
Oblivion GotY Deluxe: £9.95
Fallout: New Vegas: £4.99
Fallout: New Vegas: Ultimate: £7.48
Fallout 3/GotY: £4.95 (both are the same price!)
I'm going to wait and see if Dishonored gets a price cut on GMG. Really, I just don't want to create another account just for cheap Steam codes.
Edit: And it's totally not because they're out of codes. Nope, not a factor at all.
You can still buy the game, but it may take them a few days to get you a key.
Wait. How much DLC is there for this game? Dawnguard is still $20.
Should I buy this or wait for the GOTY?
EDIT: Can't wait. bought.
