Right, last offer, I swear: The Tail from the Crypt, the Tam O'Shanter, 2 Duelling Mini-games, and a Zepeniah's Greed paing for 8 coal. Anyone? :(

That is ridiculously valuable - pop on over to the SPUF and you can easily trade it for a game of value anywhere from $40-50. Or you could trade it for like 90 coal.

I've had a look at the SPUF and I've come away with the knowledge that I've very little idea what most people are talking about there though I do see that there are a fair few BMOC up for trade. So to put it simply, I've little to no idea what I'm doing in there.
Whatever. Easy or not, point is that I've beaten Krampus and picked up his coal twice now and I still don't have the sodding achievement. This thing is screwed up.

Have seen people being directed to this thread with that sort of problem: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2216833

Close Steam (ie. not in the system tray) then restart it, and make sure you're not "offline" on your friends list when you start the game.

I don't know which (if either) of this matters, but I had problems getting both the holiday achievements in Psychonauts until I restarted Steam, and I kept my friends list online just in case.

    That got it. Thanks!

Oh hey, I've got like 5 achievements. How'd that happen?

EDIT: 7 coal. Do I craft it or not?
  • edited December 2011
Save it. You actually have a better chance of winning something from the big drawing than you do getting a decent game from the pile.
  • edited December 2011
    agreed.
  • edited December 2011
    Consider it saved.

    More deals! Woo, yay, etc.

    Magicka (+ DLC)
Might & Magic franchise - Various Reductions
    rochard - 50% off
  • edited December 2011
Magicka one seems easy, but a bit grindy since I barely used ice magic.
  • edited December 2011
Bah, all I got was a crappy 25% off any Valve game coupon. And I already have a 50% one.

To get the Steam Guard one, go into Settings and click 'Manage Steam Guard Account Security'. Another window'll pop up. Select 'Enable Steam Guard' (or, if Steam Guard's already active, 'Keep my account protected by Steam Guard' will show instead. Select that one) and hit Next. Follow the instructions to activate Steam Guard (or, if it's already active, Steam will tell you you've made a good choice. Thanks, Steam!).

If you already have Steam Guard active, you still have to go through those steps to get the achievement.
    Just so you know.

I didn't. I just went to the Great Gift Pile page and it unlocked automatically.

Same here. People really SHOULD have Steam Guard active anyway though, so if you don't have it on then you better turn it on for the sake of protecting your games.
  • edited December 2011
Steam Guard unlocked automatically for me as well.

21 coal so far. 4 coupons (two of which are Valve discounts), and one free game (Flatout).
  • edited December 2011
I need four coal. Giving away all my coupons and the Tam'o'Shanter and Greed paint. Please, anyone?
  • edited December 2011
Ok, so I heard Spacechem is a great puzzle game, and Ive been in a puzzly mood(yes Im getting PA2), but the more I watch on youtube, the more confused I get.

What is this game? And is it any good?
EDIT:And which Magicka DLC is the best from the bunch?
  • edited December 2011

Huh. Must have just been a delayed reaction then. Oh well. Better safe than sorry.

EDIT: Best Magicka DLC? Go for Vietnam and The Stars are Left. Only two with any actual substance to them. The others are just new outfits and co-op maps, which are nice, but hardly essential. The two I mention are actual add-ons, like in the old days, so they're probably the ones to go for.

Ok the stars are left intrigue me more than vietnam, so it looks like Ill get that, some Sanctum DLC I missed out on, and PA2.

    All for $5. I love steam sales.:p

I got Half-Life 2 Episode two as a reward for an achievement. And I already own it. Will throw in 50% off Valve, 25% off Square Enix/ Eidos Interactive, 50% off Wings Of Prey, 33% off Focus Home Interactive, 50% off Disciples 3 franchise, and 25% off Lord Of The Rings War In The North. Interested in trading for another game or something. Anyone interested?
  • edited December 2011
No offence, but you're not gonna get anyone willing to trade games for vouchers.

Also, I think we all own Half Life 2: Episode 2: Blackburn 3.

Stars Are Left, gamer robes (Tentacle robe!)

My perfect record of coal is broken. I just got one coal and two 33% off Valve coupons. What a load of bullshit.
  • edited December 2011
If you want the game Flatout I'll take all your coal.
  • edited December 2011
I'm done with the sale/competition now. Have yet to spend a cent.

    List of things acquired:
AaaAAah! A Reckless Disregard for Gravity
    Counter Strike Source
    EyE: Divine Cybermancy
    Fallout New Vegas
    -Honest Hearts DLC
    -Lonesome Road DLC
    -Old World Blues DLC
    The Oddboxx
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
    Rock of Ages

(I also redeemed the key for Dungeons of Dredmor I didn't realize I had if that counts)

I've also gotten every achievement possible based on the games I own aside from Trine (which I doubt I could run, tbh). 28 total achievements. Neat-o.
  • edited December 2011
Do you wanna trade for Rock of Ages? I'd be interested in scooping that up. My profile's in my signature
  • edited December 2011
I'd love to have New Vegas, but all I have to trade for is Flatout and some coupons.
  • edited December 2011
That's all the stuff I kept. So no, you can't have. :P
  • edited December 2011
    Ah. :)
  • edited December 2011
Hah. Glad I saved all my coal.

    Yes!
I have all the valve games I need.

Although that does explain the 33% off all Valve titles I got yesterday.

Holy lemon muffins soaked in raspberry sauce with a light strawberry drizzle skiing down the hill towards a trapped buffalo! I won Portal 2!!!

In case anyone's wondering, the Holiday Sale ends tomorrow, not today. So you've got another 25 hours or so to get any last non-Daily Deal offers you were interested in.
