In other Steam news, Valve just announced and launched a Steam app for Android and iOS.

Edit: Apparently it's in beta, so even though anyone can install the app, you can't log into it unless your account is part of the beta. That said, the action of downloading the app and trying to sign into it signs you up for the next wave of invites.

    Where's the Linux port already!!!??

    Where's the Linux port already!!!??

The library would be extremely thin on Linux. 99% of games do not have Linux ports, and a Linux port of Steam would not magically make them compatible. That said, it would be pretty excellent if it becomes viable in the future.

    Today's Daily Deal is Detour. £2.20 / $3.39

Couple of Weekend Deals. First is F.E.A.R. 3, or F3AR, or FEAR Trinity (if you're me and just like the name). It's £14.99 / $19.99, which is horrendous value if, like me, you picked it up from GreenManGaming when it was on sale for a fiver.

Other one's SPAZ (Space Pirates and Zombies), which is much better value at £2.79 / $3.99

A video on Detour by Northernlion. He also has a Binding of Isaac Interview video on his channel. (which is really good!)

I love that game. Everyone should own it!

    Except Mac users, sadly.

Traded a hat for an invite. The iOS one only recieves chat messages when the app is active (so not running in background/locked), but it'll be fixed soon. Until then, mostly useless.

The Android one seems to run in the background fine (though I haven't tried using it for chat), but it crashes every time I try to search the store.

Yeah, I'm saying iOS runs the app in the background fine, but when it's not active it fails to recieve any form of message.

I've heard the android app destroys the battery, though; around an hour and half of semi-active use to run completely run out on some of the better phones.

Today's Daily Deal is Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark. 6.79, whatever your currency.

Ah. I haven't left it running in the background, so I hadn't noticed that.

    Today's Daily Deal is Glowfish. £1.74 / $2.49

Also, Law & Order: Legacies is available on Steam at a slightly reduced price of £14.02 / $16.99. As with the standard Telltale version, this is for all 7 episodes, with the first three currently ready to play.

Well, I joined the world of Steam earlier today. I figured I might as well grab that free PC port of Portal 2. No fancy cool name since it's linked to my PSN ID. I'll be sifting through the catalogue another day. Perhaps wednesday.

Do you own any Indie Bundles? Since those were DRM-free, you might have snagged them up before, and they tend to have Steam codes to redeem.

On Steam? Nope. Just 2 games so far. Otherwise? I don't know, I don't recall having anything else with Steam codes.

Okay, next question: Why do you hate awesome things like the Humble Indie Bundles?

...because I was not very aware of them? Most mentions of indie bundles that I've seen, were in reference to Steam and since I didn't use Steam, I pretty much just ignored the chatter.

Every Humble Indie Bundle is DRM-free. Steam codes are a *bonus*, but the whole point from the start was to offer DRM-free games at any price with money going to charity.

DRM-free is like, the SECOND PART of the jingle. :P

    Today's Daily Deal is Flotilla. £1.74 / $2.49.

Also, the Midweek Madness is Duke Nukem Forever, which isn't that terrible on PC. I'll have to do a list.

    Duke Nukem Forever: £3.74 / $4.99
Duke Nukem Forever Strategy Guide (needs game for purchase): £3.25 / $5
Duke Nukem Forever and Strategy Guide: £6.24 / $7.49
DLC - Hail to the Icons Parody Pack: £1.57 / $2.50
DLC - The Doctor Who Cloned Me: £1.57 / $2.49

Might as well put a brief summary of the DLC here. The Hail to the Icons pack is purely multiplayer centered, and is therefore utterly forgettable. The Doctor Who Cloned Me, on the other hand, is largely single-player focused, and at that price is well worth getting if you own the original game.

Oh, and completely out of the blue, that Serious Sam game no-one talks about (I think it had a two in there somewhere, I dunno) has mysteriously appeared on Steam with absolutely no fanfare whatsoever. £6.99 / $9.99.

Well, SS2 was never everyone's favourite. Nice to know it's on there now, though. It's the only one I don't have yet.

Johro, I'll send you a PM with a link for the Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle.

It has Frozen Synapse, Trauma and SpaceChem, I think.

Huzzah! A Daily Deal that I've actually heard off. And already own. :(

Today's Daily Deal is the Double Fine Pack. Costume Quest and Psychonauts for £7.99 / $11.49.

    Individually, Costume Quest is £5.99 / $7.49 and Psychonauts is £2.99 / $4.99.
  • edited February 2012
Not really a good price both games have been a lot cheaper before.

I have a 50% off Costume Quest coupon, if anyone would like it. It does stack with the sale, effectively making it 75% off.

I don't know about costume quest (never played it), but if you don't own Psychonauts buy it, Buy It, BUY IT! 5 bucks/3 quid for one of the most creative, hilarious, bizarre and generally awesome games ever made! Doooo iiiittttt. :D

Oh. I doesn't say that anywhere.

And the deal is not really worth the money anyway, Psychonauts is a fun game but it's still too expensive.

Ok, what is it worth then? (also if anything is a waste of money, coffee is)
