Dungeon Defenders was fun, but man it is not SP friendly, anyone here ever need a partner for that game, I would love to give it another spin.

I love Dungeon Defenders. Let me know when you want to play.

Today's Daily Deal is Trapped Dead, a Commandos/Desperados style strategy game set during yet another zombie apocalypse. Strange how the undead seem to constantly keep rising, you'd think we'd have done something about it by now. But I digress. £1.99 / $2.49 for this one.

Thank you for giving me a break from spending lately, Steam :P

There are two midweek madness sales as well:

From Holland With Love pack featuring Diamond Dan, Edge, Greed Corp, Rush, Serious Sam: Random,, Swords and Soldiers, Toki Tori for 75% off at $9.99 You probably have these though.

The second pack is Indie Adventure Bundle featuring Gemini Rue, Jolly Rover, Lume, Mechanarium, Tiny Bang Story again for 75% off at $9.99.

Discounts are available through packs only.
  • edited April 2012
That Indie Adventure Bundle would be well worth the money.

I already have 3 of the games though so, I'll pass.
  • edited April 2012
Hell, Gemini Rue and Machinarium alone are worth the $10.
  • edited April 2012
I was going to say Jolly Rover and Tiny Bang Story are worth it, lol.

I have Machinarium, but have not played it yet.
  • edited April 2012
FFS. I would have bought the Indie Adventure Bundle (since I kind of want Tiny Bang Story) but I already own all the other games. Also annoying - the individual games don't have any sort of reduction, only the pack. Gah!

I want to say "DO IT", but I feel it wouldn't come off well after our King's Quest exchange. :p

Seriously, though, the game's beautiful and it's a very solid adventure game.
  • edited April 2012
Bah, I already own three of the games in that bundle and one I'm not bothered about at all. However I am really interested in getting Gemini Rue but I might as well buy it separately as it's the same price as the bundle. Hmmm, I wonder if they're giftable after purchase...

Just looked into it and it's not possible with the adventure bundle but it is with the From Holland With Love pack. Which is annoying.
  • edited April 2012
I'd love to buy the indie adventure bundle but, alas, I already have five of the listed.

EDIT: By the way, the blue in the banner for "From Holland With Love" is quite fitting, seeing as it resembles Delftware (Delfts Blauw, translated as "Delft Blue"), a form of pottery most widely known for the use of the color blue. This particular one and the title most likely reference the various souvenir panels that can be bought at local gift shops.

I have a gift copy, so I'll trade it to you for something.
  • edited April 2012
Just checked on Twitter, and the Delftware motif was indeed intentional.

Today's Daily Deal is some RTS called Harvest: Massive Encounter. Never heard of it. £2.99 / $4.99.
  • edited April 2012
You know, I consider myself fairly in-tune with the gaming world, and for this entire month Steam has managed to put games on sale that I had honestly never heard of. Impressive.

I wish I could get rid of these stupid guest passes in my item inventory. I have 3 for Nuclear Dawn and 2 for Killing Floor. I feel like they're cluttering it up, but I can't get rid of them.
  • edited April 2012
^ I also have Nuclear Dawn passes. It seems not many people play that game anymore.
  • edited April 2012
I've got some as well. Ah well, at least I've got something in my inventory.

Today's Daily Deal is... oh look! Nuclear Dawn! Fancy that. It's like they knew or something. £5.09 / $6.79.

Although for some reason it's not currently being shown on the specials, the current Weekend Deal is:
Might and Magic: Heroes VI for £14.99 / $24.99 and
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes for £5.99 / $7.49

Also Clash of Heroes is free to play until Sunday.

As I have said before, my hours played are extremely skewed because I'll let a game sit while paused as I do other things.

    Portal 2, 32 hours
    Psychonauts, 26 hours
    Portal, 11 hours
Ancients of Ooga, 11 hours(another one of those games that was well padded by wandering away)

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, 7 hours
Monkey Island 2 SE, 7 hours

    Hector Episode 1, 4 hours.

That's almost all the games I've played through, I have a huge list of games I've yet to play.

Today's Daily Deal certainly won't help! It's the Gothic Complete Pack. The entire franchise for... -£20 and -$25?

OK, yeah, it should be more than that, but someone got it wrong! If I didn't already own them all, I'd totally be trying to buy this to see what happens.

Actually, I seem to recall it happening to something else a while back - anyone remember what happened when you tried to buy that one? I'm guessing it just didn't go through, but...

EDIT: Well, that was a fun ten minutes. Actual price is up now - £9.99 / $12.49.

aww and here I was hoping for credit :P

I never played the series but judging by reviews, it went to complete shit after the second game.
  • edited April 2012
I cannot recommend Gothic 3 it's add on and Gothic 4 plus add on.

Gothic 1 + 2 are a must buy though. Since Gothic 1 can only be sold bundled get the "Gothic Universe Edition" for 5€. It includes Gothic, Gothic 2 Gold and unfortunately Gothic 3. Or better wait for a deal on GOG. The games have problems starting for some users. I had too because yahoo messenger doesn't let them start for me. I have to close it. Others have different problems. But once you get them to play Gothic 1+2 are absolutely stellar!
  • edited April 2012
I agree that G1 and G2 are absolutely awesome, but I think right now it's safe to buy Gothic 3 too thanks to the Community Patch, which (it had the help of the Piranha Bytes employees, btw) improves a lot of stuff that was bad and/or disappointing in the original G3. I actually found G3 really enjoyable with the Community Patch. (and regardless of the Community Patch, GET THE GOTHIC 3 SOUNDTRACK IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!)

Do not buy the G3 add-on as it's total crap (and PB didn't have anything to do with it anyway). Can't say anything about G4. If you're a fan of the original Gothic games, I would recommend Risen as a nice nostalgic trip, and the soon-to-be-released Risen 2 which seems so far to be the same to Risen as Gothic 2 was to the first Gothic. I.e. improvements all the way. But we'll have to wait until it's released to prove it.

EDIT: Although, in my opinion, Gothic games have a VERY BAD English translation... it's so crappy... I prefer the Russian versions because of that, sadly, Russian versions are not distributed digitally...

I don't think it was too bad tbh. I prefer the German version myself but the English one is okay. Gothic 1 is missing a song from the soundtrack though.

Maybe it's the matter of me being used to the Russian translation. I replayed the first two Gothic games, like, A LOT (in Russian, that is), and when I played the English versions for the first time, I was like 'Ooooooooh my god I need to find a way to change the voice packs...'

EDIT: Okay, my problem is with the English voice acting, not the translation of the writing itself.

It's really close to the German voices that I am used to. Maybe that's why I don't mind them.
