The Steam page is misleading - you need to be connected to the internet when you start the game and, since the game uses UPlay, whenever you sync up your saves, but after that, you can be disconnected as long as you like.
I hear it's not bad at all. Wish they'd put the first Bad Company on Steam as well so I could play 'em both.
Totally buying this; it's still alive, apparently, and for a really cheap price!
Hope Poker Night is still 5 bucks, or otherwise I'm gonna have to add more money into my Steam wallet. Not that I'm complaining, because having a Steam wallet filled with cash is like getting robbed by Santa Claus. (that was a terrible analogy)
Didn't take long for Scribblenauts to come down in price. Wonder what THAT says about it...
I have no idea. Maybe that it's not meant for Steams customers? I personally really really REALLY like it.
TWD wasn't even on Episode 3 when it was discounted. And what did THAT say about it?
On a side note:
Age Of Empires 2 HD is now officially released and they at least fixed the WinXP-bug in a patch yesterday. Multiplayer still lags and is close to unplayable with a larger number of players.
So be warned before you spend your money.
Well, it's a moot point now that the price is back up, but I'd say even the opening woodland area is an interesting enough gaming experience that it'd be worth $2.50. The game does sort of lose sight of its own themes in the later levels, I admit.
HOWEVER. If you go to Gamefly, they have the same game, Steam and all, for 75% off, along with a few other 'indie' titles. At least, they do in the UK. Not sure about other countries.
Other deals I've discovered: at GetGamesGo, the Sonic Mega Collection is pretty cheap, though the individual games aren't reduced at all, so it kinda sucks if you've got most some of them. Great value if you don't though.
Oh, and just so you know - Sonic Adventure 1+2 have NOT aged well (and Ryan can be quiet, because it's true).
Also at GGG: 66% off Babel Rising, Mad Riders and Zeit2, and quite a few deals that aren't on Steam and therefore have no place in this thread.
This also applies to the story-based DLC / the Season Pass. Bear in mind that the season pass is just two of the story-based DLC packs in one, so don't go buying it at the same time.
I don't think there is an agreement for every Steam sale on games like these(which routinely go on sale). They just opt into it(X times per year...or however it works with them). As long as it is still being sold in the Steam store, I do believe any previous agreement with Valve would be upheld until the new owners decide otherwise when they are able.
I know the sale times are controlled by Valve and not the publishers, so if there is a standing agreement, then yeah.

There appears to be some kind of publisher control over sales. Kingdoms of Amalur was 60 dollars on Steam for the longest time, because 38 Studios wasn't around to authorize a sale.
Yes, they have some control. It's not like one can authorise a sale or price change without the other. I meant that Valve controls prices and times of sales like a retail store. Publishers can lower their asking amount and ask for a price reduction, but ultimately, it's up to Valve. Without this, you'd see a lot of older games(or games by struggling companies) go dirt cheap to milk every penny. They seem to have a fairly constant bottom of $9.99 for triple A and $4.99 for indie.
Also: LaMulana is now on Steam. If you already own it on Desura or in the Greenlight Groupees bundle you will recieve a free Steam key later. If you own it on CoCK you get nothing. As usual they don't hand out Steam keys.
Posted in February 12 by PLAYISM, in the Greenlight page:
Hello Lamulanites! We still don't have a concrete release date yet but believe me we want to release it as soon as we can and are working hard to make that happen. I do have one piece of unfortunate news to share now that the all of the legal stuff has been settled and taken care of. Although users from PLAYISM and Desura(and GROUPEES of course) will be able to receive Steam keys, GOG does not actually offer Steam keys through their site so users who have bought from GOG will not be able to activate their purchase on Steam. We are really sorry about this but there is not much we can do on our end.

Timely, given they're Kickstarting the next game in the series.
EDIT: Weekend Deal!
Includes the DLC that got so many people in a tizz over on GOG.com.
I hear it's not bad at all. Wish they'd put the first Bad Company on Steam as well so I could play 'em both.

That's the entire series - Sniper Elite, V2 and the Kill Hitler DLC. They're individually reduced as well.
Oh well, good to know I didn't miss anything interesting.
And there's some new week-long deals. They're all so rubbish I can't be bothered to repeat them here.
Surprised EA haven't taken it down and forced you to use Origin to play it yet.
Forget I said anything. Don't want to give 'em ideas, do we.
Midweek Madness deals:

Yes. That I agree with wholeheartedly. 15~20$ is what I would pay. Now that it's 10$, insta-buy.
If you don't already own this, then you really should.
Weekend Deals:
WOO! FARMING SIMULATOR'S HALF PRICE! PARTY ON!
I disagree.
Well It has outstanding sound but that isn't really used unless you play the super secret extra bonus level.

75% off
Whatever. Apparently, people think it's great. I guess.
Second one is better, if you get it, you're in waaay deeper.

What do you mean while they still can? There is no THQ, they can't do shit.
Anyway, don't get the appeal of Red Faction games at all. Get bored outta my mind in the first 10 minutes.
Which, as far as I understand, is still THQ at this point. If it did get sold during the second auction, that doesn't take effect until May.
Oh right, Red Faction was sold on the second auction. I thought it was bought on the first one alongside with Saints Row.
My bad.
Though, if they're in the process of selling of their assets, can they even legally do things like steam sales?
I know the sale times are controlled by Valve and not the publishers, so if there is a standing agreement, then yeah.

Some week-long deals for you to enjoy. And hey! Not all of them are awful! Woo!
75% off A Valley Without Wind 1 + 2
75% off AI War: Fleet Commander and DLC
75% off Airline Tycoon 2
66% off Angelica Weaver: Catch Me When You Can
75% off Bad Rats: The Rat's Revenge (obligatory WTF Do I Own - long story short: AVOID)
40% off CameraBag 2
75% off Chrome & Chrome: Specforce
25% off Demolition Inc.
75% off Razor2: Hidden Skies
75% off Shattered Haven
33% off Test Drive Ferrari: Racing Legends
75% off The Spellforce Collection (this includes the recent DLC for Spellforce 2!)

The first one is kinda fun. The second one I cannot get into. Took forever to get into #1 for me too though.
