Now all I need is for the combo pack of 1 and 2 to be on special!

It's a staple of the seasonal sales. It will be. Might end up waiting til August on that one.
  • edited April 2013
I've been wanting to pick them up. I've heard great things about the first two, but how's the third one?

Much, much better than the first two(which I enjoyed).
  • edited April 2013
Ah, good. I just might be able up pick it up before the sale ends, after all. Thanks for the reassurance.

"No previous experience with Rain-Slick 1 or 2 necessary!" is what it says in the 3rd one's description.

Not to mention, the first two were kind of shit. Dunno about the third one, though. Anyone played it?

Whatever experience it had may have been overclouded by me not liking Penny Arcade.

Dun look like it had much, though.

If you don't like Penny Arcade, why did you buy a game based on Penny Arcade?
  • edited April 2013

Zeboyd's RPGs have been consistently mechanically interesting and Rain-Slick 3 represents the most recent evolution of their signature style, including the latest upgrade in their ability to render sprite graphics. Rain-Slick 4 seems like it'll have more interesting mechanics and even better sprite graphics, so it's very easy to see how someone who is indifferent about or even dislikes Penny Arcade may decide to play the Zeboyd games.

I don't know if anyone ever mentioned IndieGameStand. It has a new game every 96 hours.

It crops up every now and then.

I could have sworn I posted that in the Indie Bundles thread.... My head ain't workin' quite right lately.

Don't worry - I'd have posted the same response. ;)

A rare EA game that doesn't use Origin, and it's far too expensive, at least in Europe. Ugh.

    Weekend Deals:

Worms is 50% off, as is the complete collection, though only Revolution is individually reduced.

Finally, apropos absolutely nothing, this is 50% off this weekend:

That last one was in one of the Android Humble Bundles.

I played the hell out of Spore for a couple of weeks a few years back, but then I suddenly realized I found it incredibly repetitive and boring. I never played it again.

Hey, check your inventory if you own Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition, Serious Sam 3: BFE, Dungeon Hearts or 10000000, because you'll find some coupons!

Yes, in a promotion designed to reward customers instead of punish them as per usual, if you own Duke 3D you'll get a voucher for 75% off SS3, 50% off Duke3D if you own SS3, and if you own Dungeon Hearts you'll get a voucher for 10000000 and vice versa (don't know the values of those, since I own neither of them).

I adore this idea and would love to see more of it.

    Thanks again.
  • edited April 2013
Hm. Too bad I know I'll never get around to playing DN3...so why bother. Hey, it was nice to finally get one of these coupons. I own enough games, just not the RIGHT ones in the past apparently.

Also, 30% off Surgeon Simulator 2013. Can anyone tell me if this is as awesome as Youtube makes it look?

I like simulator games and I wouldn't touch it even if you payed me to do so.
If you really just want to dick around in it your fun will go deplete fast. You can watch those videos for free and spend your time in the same way.
  • edited April 2013
Might be good for a group of friends to laugh at each other. Other than that, might as well just stick to watching videos. Awful awful controls aren't as funny when it's you struggling with them.

It's like QWOP but with surgery.

Also, oh god, this guy is hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2XkTIYhQC8

But the whole point of the game is to do surgery with terrible controls.
  • edited April 2013
That doesn't make it enjoyable. If some company went out to make a cinematic adventure and it succeeded, it doesn't mean it was a good idea either.
  • edited April 2013
Yes, but like you said, the fun is in watching how badly other people fail at it.

Whether that was the original intent is another matter.

Right. So keep your 10$ and watch that crap on the Youtubes.

Edit: Or get the free version. If you REALLY enjoy that you can think about buying the game on Steam for 10€

Today a little indiegame called FarCry 3 is 40% off.
I heard it uses a strange DRM called "Uplay" though.
