I just noticed something in episode 1. When you save Carley and Doug gets bitten by walkers, listen closely and he does a Wilhelm scream.

You say it's a brand new cast on this game. Then is Glenn one of the original cast members? Cause he is from the walking dead series. And Hershel?

yes. those were just brief references to the comics. neither character plays a big role. If you didn't notice, Lilly is from the comic too;)

Glenn, Hershal, and Lilly are all members from the comics, but Glenn and Hershal were mainly used for fan service and to start the story. Lilly wasn't shown much in the comics, so Telltale decided to tell her story before she... does some spoilery stuff.

Everyone else are original characters though.

is it just me or did anyone else keep confusing the reporter girl with larrys daughter?
they look so similar, sound similar and they have very little character.

larrys daughter had no leadership qualities except having a big dad, why was she leader? reporter girl had more balls than larrys daughter did and that aint saying much, why didnt they make reporter girl look totally different from Larrys daughter ( as i have heard she is in the comics and couldnt be changed) she could have been a busty blonde or whatever, just something that would make people se the difference from far away

I like Carley's design. I agree that Lilly and Carley have the same facial features, but Carley has shorter hair as well as a shorter height.

i dont know about you but i decided to avoid as much as possible about the game until i played it so i was seeing these characters for the first time (and i have a problem remembering names) so unless one of them was holding a gun or talking about her dad i couldn't always tell the difference, height and hair length are very minor details.

i think its a bad idea to have actors in films or tv that look the same in the same show, but at least they have an excuse of saying that the actors were just the best for the role, but this is a game they could have made one different looking just so everything is clear right from the beginning, in real life it isnt much of a problem, but in films and games people have to be different enough to remember them separately,
eg. kenny has a handle bar moustache and larry is big old and mean looking

If I may ask, what happens if you side with Lilly in the meat locker?

nothing changes, kenny does the deed , but kenny will not like you as much but lilly will like you more

You help resuscitate her dad with a clickable chest to administer CPR. If you click enough times, he stirs just before Kenny interrupts with the same action as in the other decision.

Actually, you can keep up the CPR one or two beats even after Larry's head is smashed, which happened the first time I played. That is so gross.

that could be proof that he was a zombie rather than proof he may have been saved, no zombie like to be touched by humans

Try it. It's awesome trying alternatives and helps you to see another points of view. I saw Kenny hater's point when I played again and sided with Lilly.

But that didn't happen in my real playthrough. :p

Loving the game so far, Telltale. I was concerned that there would be a lot of "episodic asset recycling," but you guys have gone out of your way to avoid that, and that is fantastic.

The game really does match the style of the books very well. I picked this season up during the Steam Summer Sale, and am actually disappointed that I'm now all caught up, because now the wait to mid-August seems devastating.

The visual style, the voice acting, the characters and the way you vary up the gameplay -- these are all flawless. Keep it up guys.

I never really had a hard time confusing the two from each other. Aside from the physical differences (i.e. shorter hair, height). They both have contrasting personalities, but then again that's based on my choices from playing. Lilly seemed to be more confrontational, definitely not like Larry, but she was definitely an argumentive character. Carley seemed to be more....reasonable/rational when it came to difficult situations.

Loving the game so far and loving the nice informative thread. But I just wish there was a way to back up my gamesave to my flashdrive so I wouldn't have to worry about losing it when I format my Ps3 :(\

But yeah other than that keep up the work Telltale :D
  • its like the original resident evil(s), or the old NES shadowgate, in the sense that you click on things in the environment to interact with them.

its pretty awesome that you can pause the game during the cutscenes, & if you turn the subtitles on, each character has a distinct color for their dialouge, adding an extra element of flavoring.

i also highly recommend turning off all the assistance in the options. makes searching the environment more satisfying & thinking/reacting, on the fly, is also more immursive as well.

i just happened to have some extra microsoft points, glad i chose to spend them on the first two episodes of this here pretty unique game.

it was great, how that cop in the car ride was telling a story, how he thinks lee "didnt do it" allofasudden, "look the f out!!!!"

...great way to kick off preceedings. ;)

I have a mid-2011 Macbook Air. Do you guys recommend playing the game on Mac side, or on Windows Bootcamp? In episode 1, I hade some problems with the Mac version doing some weird stuff in the Lee's family store. As I recall, it was something with clicking or menu refresh being absolutely awful.

Episode 3 running okay on Mac?

When I was playing Episode 2, I got Andy's gun for not punching him and spared his life near the end, but Andy's gun did not show up in episode 3 since nobody is using it

I'm reading The walking dead comics, and Rick's son, Carl survived shot in face, so u can make something like that.

Lee Everitt of Macon that was, his ka-tet is broken but so continues his journey along the path of the beam.:D

Can't you just make more ways out of problems? For Example, stop trying to Calm down Lilly, and just slap her, when she get the gun out? Or Carley back in future episodes (She knew plans about Savannah)? That will be cool after leaving Clem only as a likeable character. Or just a good theme for future episodes.

For the last two episodes opening characters seems to be put through the ringer.
Mark talks about food and how he would not want to be stuck in a room with Larry only to get chopped up and kept alive to be a meat source. In episode three Kenny starts by talking about how it is looking like a good day only for his son to be bitten and for his wife to end her life the next morning.
    Is this foreshadowing intentional?

Just played Episode 1 on PS3...It's SOOOOOOOOOO good. If you EVER touch Jurassic Park again, do it like this. There are too many great things about this game to count.

Nothing official here, but I think that train has departed. The Season DVD has never before been announced mid-Season.

Well... they confirmed a disc on the last Playing Dead episode. They just didn't say if it was for consoles or PC.

The game is a simulation of what life would be like if society crumbled and you were a complete moron.

Basically, it goes like this - anything you might actually be interested in if you weren't a complete moron and society had crumbled is not available to you in the game, which leaves everything else to be active in the game, things like signs and door knobs and simply stupid observations that don't move the game forward at all.

And then, laughably, the game has the audacity to state "This game adapts to your playing style..." Hahaha. It only supports one style of play - that of complete moron. And that statement could only partially be true as you will be lucky if you can start episode three based on your prior saved games - I couldn't.

Anyway, I find it boring and utterly moronic in terms of activities to perform after society has crumbled.

Carl also got IMMEDIATE medical attention, and was in a coma for about a week, in a well guarded area around proffesionals with good equipment.

Carly got NO medical attention to treat her wound, is in the middle of the forest so walkers could've gotten her, is HUNDREDS of miles away from the group, and she is also unarmed.

She is dead, get over it and to everyone, its good you liked a character, but quit whining that person is dead, its walking dead, the comic book where to celebrate 100 issues of the series, they killed off the fan favorite of the ENTIRE series by beating him to death with a baseball bat in front of his pregnant wife and 8 year old child.

I'd think you guys would want Carly to die a painless death so she doesn't get a fate like the above wrong, but screw logic!
