They do that because that is how they do things. It is their release model. Every game series they have made has been released like this, with one exception - Jurassic Park. With just the smallest bit of research you could have gleaned this nugget of information.
Is it really so hard to answer a question without being rude?
You didn't have to add that extra bit about how I should do more research, you could have just you know answered my question without the snide remark.
I'm sorry that I am new to TTG and don't know a whole lot about them. I didn't figure it would be such a terrible idea to ask people who do know about them a question, I see that I was mistaken.

I apologise but there have been a lot of questions like this today and I got a little annoyed with some idiots on here and I took it out on you so again I'm sorry.

I do just want to point out that you posted this in the FAQ thread which leads me to wonder if you read at least the first post in the thread before making your own post? I'm not having a go, just curious if you have or not. 'Cos if you haven't then it most likely means a lot of people haven't today which as lead to a lot of similar questions in a relativity short space of time.

I looked through most of the thread and I didn't see anyone ask a question about being charged for each chapter of the game which was my only real question, so I asked.

    Hi,
Loved and smased Episode 1, how can I get Episode 2 please.

I bought the first one on Steam and it said to get a 'Season pass', to episodes 2, 3 and 4 (I think) but I cannot find a link....must kill more zombies...this game is so Cool.

    Thank you.

Question: I currently don't have internet at home, can I download the game at work and then install it and play at home without an internet connection ?

I guess not but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Sorry, but there is a one-time online activation required to run the game if you purchased it through our site.

Episode 2 will not be released until next month. Ep 3 a month after that and so on. If you bought the $24.99 Steam version, you bought the season pass. Each Ep will be available to you as soon as it is released.

Thanks for the quick answer. That's what I was expecting, no problem.

Mike, why hasn't Telltale released the Walking Dead game through the PlayStation Store in Australia and New Zealand.
  • edited April 2012
So I've never watched the show and really don't know anything about the books or comics. I playe the demo and decided for 5 dollars I'll give it a try. Well I stayed glued to my TV the entire episode 1. I'm so impressed. I know their are 5 episodes, but I hope their are more seasons of this. I went back to PSN and bought the rest of the season. Awesome job!!!

When running the game through Steam on Windows 7, how can you take your save games from one computer to another? Copying the files in "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Telltale Games" doesn't seem to work. The game doesn't recognize the save games brought over from the other computer.

Probably another thing to mess you up when you use the TTG installer to play episode 2.... it's not going to work

I really enjoy the game I hope they make the seasons longer.

    Is/Will there be a demo?

Hay guys I have an xbox360 but still can't download it. I just want to know what is wrong.

Telltale, this is your finest game to date. I felt a genuine emotional attachement to the people I encountered in episode 1, and the time limited dialogchoices is amazing. It makes you feel like your actions and your responses to people actually matter. Sure, there are some grapchic and audio hiccups, but nothing that hindered my enjoyment of this game. For me, this is one of the best games of 2012. Congrats on bringing Kirman's comicbook universe to life in such a convincing way. As nerds say; GJ!

No entiendo nada...

NO TIENEN EXCUSA.

PStore y Xbox no deberían dejar poner a la venta estos juegos sin minimo Subtítulos. Es mi opinión y así quiero dejar constancia.

Espero que tomen cartas en el asunto.
    Saludos desde España.

Just finished episode 1. Best time I've had playing a Telltale title since Sam N Max season 2! You guys have really outdone yourselves, congrats!

I am agree with the spanish guy. It's a wonderful game, butr the spoken scenes are very hard to understand without knowing english very, very well!
I know the difficulties of an integral dubbing, but...the subtitles at least!!! Does anyone know if we have a hope about subititles translations?

Está confirmada la traducción al español, tranquilo.

Si no hablas en inglés, los de Telltale dudo que se enteren mucho. :p

Spanish translation is confirmed, don't worry.

If you don't speak in English, Telltale people won't understand you so much... ;)

so its ready when can i get it for the xbox 360
  • edited April 2012
So I played around with the installer. It does recognize the steam version. It mentions that you already have the game installed and that it can uninstall that version and keep it's saves and settings. So for those worrying about your saves carrying over if you want to get rid of the steam version and use Telltale's version you can rest easy because it will read those saves and settings options.

I am confused about the Steam vs. Telltale website version of the game. I ordered at the Telltale website, and then because of their technical issues, received a Steam key for the game like many did.

I have already installed the game through Steam and it seems to be working fine. However, then I received an email from TT saying I can download it from their website now. It is worded in a way that makes me wonder if I HAVE to download it from their website in order to get the rest of the episodes.

I would like to leave the Steam version installed and not use their website version, but I don't want to miss out on anything because of doing it this way (such as getting the upcoming episodes, etc.). Are there are differences between the Steam version and the TT website version? Will I be missing out on anything in the game by not installing the website version?

    Thanks,
    Jason

According to posts made by Mike, the email is not correct. The Steam key you were sent is for the entire season and will not be revoked or limited in any way. If you wish to just use the Steam version, you can.

I am getting terribly annoyed. I really want to play this game (Xbox 360), but it hasn't even shown up in the marketplace. I've searched everywhere and there is no explanation to why this is. Can somebody PLEASE answer this question.

Thank you. That is what I was hoping for. I found this thread by Mike which was also helpful:

Is it planned/are there plans by Telltale and Kirkman to continue the story after the fifth episode?
  • edited April 2012
Its probably been asked but I don't want to read through the entire thread :p Not mentioned on the first page anyway

Will Walking Dead have the usual physical special edition copy that you can order from Telltale once the game's complete? I don't see it mentioned on the store listing and this is one game which I'd love to have in physical form

Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this game, great job Telltale! Looking forward to episode 2. Hell, looking forward to season 2 if there is one.

My only gripe with the game, and it's a trivial one, is that the timer for the decisions moves way too fast. I read slow so more often than not I'd be halfway done reading the second choice when the dialogue options would start to fade out.

Nothing has been said and the only official answer is that they don't know. Mu guess is that it won't be available on physical disc.

    1. If I buy a PC copy and I buy a PS3 late August. Will I be able to use the same season pass to buy PS3 episodes?
    2. Is it good to buy through Amazon or through the official website? Amazon is given 2$ discount?

    Thanks

Please stop making a new thread for every question you ask, particularly if your old thread is only a couple of minutes old. Use the FAQ thread for those basic questions please.

If you can get a discount, why not go for it? But you will only buy the game for one platform. If you buy for PC/Mac, you don't get the PS3 version for it.

Is The Walking Dead a 1st person or 3th person ?
