  • yes... invert option please... its frustrating on consoles when I can't invert, even "game breaking" for some games for people like us!!! LISTEN TO US TELLTALE!!! something very simple can make your games alot better!!!

  • +1 to inverted Y axis. TELLTALE developers kindly add a patch to the game! It truly takes away from the immersive experience of the game.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Why do you find inverted controls better? I wouldn't know how to play like that...

I know I am always struggling with the controls on consoles, because they have these joysticks and my instinct tells me to push the joystick down if I want to make something go up. Now if I wouldn't have the option to tell the game I want exactly THAT to happen, I just know I would get frustrated to no end and might even consider dropping the game. That's why I agree with OP that such a function should definitely get added. I hardly think it is even a problem to program this.

  • Just attempted to play and couldn't do it. This is the first game I have found that doesn't have inverted controls. and if it doesn't get inverted controls then it will be returned. That should be an automatic thing to have inverted controls in a game. With as many people needed inverted controls and they still haven't fixed it? Doesn't seem like they care too much. So probably won't be buying TellTale games in the future.

  • You press up, you expect the cursor to go down, you press down you expect the cursor to go up. Makes sense. I wish the could make inverted controls while driving. Turn left to go right? Cars Reference

I am an old-time gamer and have money to spend. No invert Y axis is a deal breaker for me. Until you patch the first season, so I can buy and actually play it, you don't get my money. Seriously, you are depriving yourselves from some serious earnings as there will be tens of thousands of gamers like me, who won't buy games because such a simple choice is left out. We want to have fun, not fight with the controls, period!

  • How can anyone play with inverted??? It's simple, you press up it goes up and you press down it goes down, thats logical.

  • I'm sorry people but if your brain needs the inverted cursor than you have a problem and you are going to die soon :P

Just a joke people... I never played anything with inverted mouse so it's no problem to me, but I guess some of you who are actual gamers are used to it from some other games and I guess Telltale should think on doing that or Microsoft I don't know who makes that calls

  • Dude hold the controller upside down.

    Problems solved?

    Glad I could help :)

  • Makes sense to me

  • I think this would be fixed by now. I check every 6 months or so because I want to play, but I can't. It's just a matter of preference, and I prefer to play inverted.

  • Another person solely registering to say this game needs an invert option. I could take it if there weren't time pressure situations but it sucks the fun out of the game to constantly die because the controls don't have a simple invert option.

The game is fantastic, please fix it so I can enjoy this game and continue to purchase and enjoy the rest of your games.

  • Ditto. Please fix it.

  • I'm an older guy and for as long as I've been able I play with inverted Y axis, it's just as natural to me as using my right hand to write. Trying to write with my left hand, or play first person non-inverted, is really awkward. Imagine trying to read an entire novel with the words placed in reverse. Not impossible, but the mental ergonomics of make it a more a hassle more than an enjoyable experience. I don't expect a fix by now, it's taken me this long to finally play the game and only now do I feel my money and time have been wasted.

This abysmal oversight on a game made in the last ten years in inexplicable, frustrating, and because you have my money for a game I cannot rightly play or enjoy infuriating. You could have at least warned your customers of this very real and serious limitation, had I known this was an issue you can be sure I would have never bothered.

Shame on you all for duping your customers. Yes, you never promised playable controls, but the inference of a playable video game is in place when the publisher and developer release a product of this nature to the public. I made this purchase, as I imagine others did, in good faith that it would be a playable game. It is clearly not for myself and others.

  • I don't understand inverted controls. People say they are used to it, but I'm used to the real world, where up goes up and down goes down. The mouse goes up the mouse pad, the cursor goes up, the mouse goes down the mouse pad, the cursor goes down.

I dropped in here to say I was very sad there was no option for inverted controls in the walking dead. Those of us that are wired to see a emulated world inverted are just wired better than the rest. Its odd to see people intolerant of such an odd thing, its like being left handed or a number of other things. We simply see an emulated world like this.. Alt text

"Many games allow the player to control the camera, typically through the use of an analog stick in the case of a controller, or by movement of a computer mouse. Taking a console first person shooter as an example, by default moving the stick upwards will pan the view upwards, and moving the stick down will pan the view downwards. For some people this isn't intuitive however, as they link the movement of the stick with the back of the head of the character they're playing . As a result moving the stick forward would make the head tilt downwards, which should make the view pan downwards with it, and vice versa for pulling the stick backwards. In other words (particularly in third person games) when the controls are inverted, what you are really doing is rotating the camera up and over the characters head so it is then looking down." ]

Even some Telltale games that put you near a first person view with a aiming crosshair will trigger this want to see the world as if we are in it.

Be jealous your are not as immersed in your game world by default... just by being a inverted gamer.
