Well that was fast. Day four of the GOG sale is a massive amount of daily deals, some of which have already appeared, and some of which haven't.

Also, This Week in GOG, though there's no hint and barely anything to recap.

Gah! My wallet can't take deals of this magnitude! X'O

Does this mean it's the last day of the summer sale already?

Apparently the promo ends at the 5th July. 0_o
  • edited June 2013
Yeah, I was being stupid. Most of these deals haven't been a daily deal yet.

    GOG wins.

    Fuuuuuuuuu...

    I feel your pain dude...

(369 titles now. If I get to 400, then I should chop my own fingers off to stop myself getting any more! XD)

    No, wait, it's OK. I didn't even spent $10.

OK, a little late on the uptake today because of breakfast and acquisition of supplies to work on the floors, but here's day five. If you missed them yesterday, you can get the Indie RPG Invasion bundle, which contains paid Torchlight if you missed it when it was free, and the Fair and Square Bundle, which has a bunch of Square first person shooters/stealth-em-ups, including the Darth Marsden approved Daikatana. Both bundles are 75% off if you buy the whole bundle.

    NEW GAMES, gog?? NEW GAMES??
  • edited June 2013
Welcome to day six, and with it, the return of the RPG Rarities bundle at 75% off and the Builder's Boon bundle at 70% off. Remember, both bundles require you to buy the whole bundle to get the higher discount.

Day seven brings us a pretty big update, so let's get right to it. The daily bundles are the Superb Sierra Selection bundle (no Leisure Suit Larry or SWAT 3) for 69% off and the Omerta All Inclusive bundle for 80% off (still not worth it). That's it for sales, but we're not quite done yet. A bunch of games are leaving the sale early. This list of about 60 games from Interplay, Square Enix, Bohemia Interactive and Capcom will be returning to full price at tomorrow's daily deal update time so... hurry up and get them while you can. Seriously. Remember, Fallout goes away at the end of the year unless GOG can work out a deal with a company who apparently hates and/or fears everything GOG stands for.

By Fallout, do you mean just Fallout 1 or all three Fallout games?

    Thanks for the heads up.

(Decided to snatch up all the Square Enix stuff I haven't already got)

All of the Interplay Fallout titles are apparently going to be reverting to Zenimax at the end of the year. Since Zenimax is not on GOG, and are apparently unwilling to put their stuff on anything but Steam, unless GOG can strike a deal these games are going to be going away.

I got bit hard by the sale bug, and hopefully now I won't feel compelled to buy anything else from this sale. So far I got the free Torchlight, Chaos on Deponia, Slender, Evoland, Strike Commander, Syndicate Wars, Bard's Tale, Shogo, Omikron and (sorry Darth) Daikatana.

Got Magrunner last night. It's... interesting. Judgement reserved until later. ;)

I got Daikatana simply because its the kind of game that will make me laugh everytime I play it! XD

If anyone actually bothered to watch my review, you'd have noted that I didn't think Daikatana was that bad.

Bland and dull, yes. But not exactly terrible.

Maybe I should go rewatch it then. Though maybe I'm basing my recollection of your opinion based one these two posts.

Thanks for the headsup! I have only Fallout 1 now, should get the others before the end of the year. Do you know of any other games that could be removed from the site?

Well, one of important thing to remember is that peoples' opinion on it is not based on just strictly how the game turned out in the end. It's also based on hype and a terrible marketing campaign, and all that combined with huge disappointment? Ugh.

Welcome to the second week of the GOG summer sale. Not only do we get a nice animated submarine replacing the shark, as well as a bunch of games that are officially no longer on sale, we get two more daily deal bundles. We have the Mighty Heroic Bundle (all the Heroes of Might and Magic games) for up to 75% off and the Indie Puzzlebox (probably a bunch of indie puzzle games) for up to 75% off.

Methinks Laura should have a copyright on the puzzlebox name.

Another day, another batch of indie games. Day nine gives us Fez for $4.99, Dyad for $4.99, Hotline Miami for $3.33, Retro City Rampage for $4.99, Waking Mars for $2.49 and Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers for $2.49.

Alright, back on track for Day 10. Hey, guess what, Arma's back! The Arma Recruitment Pack gives you the entire Arma collection for 66% off. However, it has been altered slightly since it was on sale last. See, since Bohemia pulled out of the sale early, the Arma collection is now "Buy all games to get 66% off, or buy them individually at full price". But hey, the other bundle, the Complete Ultima Chest, is still the standard "75% off for the whole thing, 50% off individually".

Bam, boom, out of nowhere release. Check out Rogue Legacy, the latest roguelike where you get a new randomized character every time you die. If that sounds fun, then you can get it for $14.99. Sorry, no early adopter price.

Without the weekend deal, Friday is bringing us a lot more stuff. No change in the daily deal yet, that will be later. However, we have TWO new releases. First off we have the day late but still appreciated Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards Reloaded. This remake of a remake of a remake of a text adventure can be yours for only $19.99, again, no launch discount. And in a release that I hope makes Darth happy, we have Jack Keane 2: The Fire Within for the launch discount price of $23.99.

Also the final episode of This Week on GOG until September gives us a release recap, reminds us the sale is still going on, and gives us a clue for an upcoming release. The hint is that release will be available when "the Demeter reaches English shores".

The launch price is excellent. The lack of German voices, however, absolutely not acceptable. The game has been out for quite some time, no retail sales are undercut and the German voices belong to Deck13. Shame on their Grabstein, Alder.

The artwork on the Leasure Suit Larry remake looks pretty mediocre. I might get it when it goes on sale or something. I can buy a lot of games for 20 buckazoids.

The reason GOG doesn't have the German language version of Jack Keane 2 is... Nordic doesn't own the distribution rights to the German version of JK2. They want to, and they're busy adding German language versions to the stuff that they DO have on GOG, but they are legally unable to sell the German version right now.

Day 11 brings us some pretty serious deals so let's get right to it. Check out the Bullfrog Classics Bundle for up to 75% off and every single Telltale game they have for 85% off each. No need to buy them all to get the 85% off for those babies. Be sure to grab the super cheap Wallace and Gromit for a version that is actually DRM-free.
  • edited June 2013
Sam and Max seasons 1&2 also contains the excellent soundtracks.

Also, I already paid 1 cent for a DRM free version of Wallace and Gromit during the telltale sale on Humble Bundle.

    It makes me very happy.

    And then I saw this:

    Game's got a mother-lovin' airship.

I would SO buy this if I weren't trying to save money right now. OH SO TEMPTED.

Welcome to day 12, and the bundles of the day. We have the Platformers Reborn Pack, which is up to 75% off a bunch of indie platformers with physics, and the Libraries of Myst pack, which is up to 75% off a bunch of Myst remakes and sequels.

All right, I'll cave. It's Jack Keane 2 for me. I had played the German demo back in November and didn't like it - but they have since fixed the point and click movement, as far as I know. And it seems as if the english version finally makes a proper accent distinction (Amanda = US, Jack = UK), so that's one thing to look forward to while playing the not original language. :p

    Off to gog!

If you like adventure games and/or vampires, then day 13 is for you. The Wadjet Eye Selection gives you up to 80% off of the Wadjet Eye adventures that are on GOG (9 bucks for 7 games is a steal for adventure fans), and the Kain and Raziel Saga gives you, obviously, all of the Legacy of Kain games on GOG for 75% off (or nothing if you buy them individually because they're not technically on sale).

Good thing I can't tempt Darth any further right now, because I really like Jack Keane 2 despite some pretty absurd control bugs.
