Rofl....this is probably some of the most downright blatent misleading crap I've read on this forum which clearly ignores fact and tries to twist was was clearly written in black and white
It's not that someone wants to sue TTG. It's just that people are quick to sue or threaten a lawsuit when they don't get their way or want to make a quick buck.
Ahhhh I see, though I have a feeling any lunatic who did attempt to sue TTG wouldn't be doing it for the money, I think they'd be more interested in achieving some sort of "Fuck You TTG, you ignored my emails and the forums but this you can't ignore", just a way of getting their point noticed because they are frustrated at being ignored.

which if true is probably the lamest form of trolling.
since most likely ttg will win and the poor sap customer will be further out of pocket...
This whole talk of lawsuits is hilarious. A game is delayed. It is not the end of the world.
If you get an better game, why does it matter that it's delayed? Or are you one of those people who would rather have it rushed, then complain that it's buggy?

so you knew what has happened in the past, you chose to spend 75 bucks, you chose to ignore the warning signs and yet you still spent the money ?
sorry dude but thats your own fault..
What you should of done is bought the game once then told your 'gf' and buddy about the game and let them play it with your account then ONCE the game was complete bought it for them at a reduced price and they wouldn't be busting you chops..
welcome to the forums :D:D
First of all, letting someone else access your Steam account is ignorant and stupid. If that is what your solution is, you obviously are just as ignorant as the rest who defend TTG for this terrible marketing and publicity. (Let your girlfriend and buddy let play with my account - LOL are you serious? Would you let people access your Blizzard account for this?) So it is MY fault that the company has again let all it's consumers down with a false advertising promise? Wow, i sure hope TTG doesnt follow your train of thought, if they do, then they obviously are completely oblivious to what a real consumer wants.
take one day off checking posting on here and everyone starts raging !
I still think people are missing the point.
Planned monthly..= no SET release date so therefore means they have not broken a law.
TTG have stated reasons in subtle ways, if you listen or read carefully..
The whole monthly release is now approximately monthly..
apples and oranges ? two fruits but are different in looks, taste and composition the fuck does that have to do with anything ?
something went wrong the certification was delayed for some reason..
accept the simple fact that is SHIT HAPPENS with episodic games, people bring out the torches and pitchforks if it's one day late now it's a month accept the fact that ttg are doing something different/new (choice system changes story) which means problems aren't always going to be easily fixed..
some complaints seem to be from people who misread stuff they see monthly and 'go yay monthly release, me buy NAO' and they don't bother to check further..
to me it is not ttg's fault if people FAIL to read the terms and conditions. which you have to click on to buy stuff so yes most people don't read them but sometimes you should.. especially for a pre order/ season pass.
bottom line season pass is for the full set of episodes not how many you feel like playing regardless of delay/ time between you will get them and IF ttg can't deliver they will give money or a voucher of equivalent value...but only when they are sure of that... if the game is STILL IN development (another point people don't get) they can not guarrantee an exact date but they do when they are sure..
and don't go saying i don't understand or i miss stuff i don't i haven't i just have read it so often now it's obvious...
Ok, but still the fact remains that not one single update or communication has been given by TTG since May 22. That is a serious issue, don't you think? So we are all supposed to ASSUME that this "planned monthly" is just that, planned and not concrete. So in other words whenever it is released, just be happy and quit complaining, even if that date is say, August? Then what if Ep3 is delayed until Christmas?
The main reason I got this for myself and friends was so that we could fill in the gap between Season 2 and 3 of the tv shows. Personally once the tv shows start back up, I may not even be interested in the game as it is just a stop gap. Unfortuantely the lies about release dates is causing more irritation than anything else as i have played EP1 3 times through just so I can keep fresh what was going on. I really do not wish to play through each episode multiple times just to keep it fresh in my head while waiting endlessly for any updates or communications.
you could let them play twd on your pc while you do something else like watch tv or play on a games console..yet you can watch them....do you have trust issues ?
or you could just tell them about the game..and did you watch e3 ? there are 2 video's up with a ttg guy talking about the certification process and a end of june release...as for communication like emails from ttg, you bought it from a third party aka steam.... ttg direct customers have also not heard anything cos of the simple fact ttg don't know with a 100% accuracy yet.. they hope and plan to get ep2 out by the end of june the word plan is key here..
it's been splashed over these forums a fair bit but again people lack the common sense to scroll down the topic list and or use the search function...
yes WDH i agree, it seems ignorance is bliss for some people..and the world does not revolve around them but some think it does..
I just read the wonderful posts which were written here in the last 2 days.
1) To the ones who complained about just getting 1/6 of the game - please go back to school and learn some math
2) There are some who complain about the fact that they had to wait for 2 Months know. This maybe correct in one way - but one month waiting was part of the deal so no complaining needed for thios month here.
3) There was one user who wrote such "beautifull" things as "f*uck yourselfs" and such - please buy yourself some manners. Everything and I mean EVERYthing can be told in a nice way. Swearing around doesn't help anything - even if you are right.
4) There are some users who are speaking of wanting a refund and wanting to sue TTG. Just a simple question to those - did you get your refund or better asked for it? Does TTG communicate with you?
5) There was the assumption that TTG maybe are ordered not to tell anything here...this might be? If the problem really is in the hands of sony and microsoft - maybe THEY ordered TTG not to tell that they are responsible for the delay? But I still don't understand why this delay also concern the PC versions....
To those who complain here in a civilized way I think you have every right to do so - why not? It may not help but it doesn't hurt either. And you may feel better afterwards.

I did tell them about the game, that is why they wanted it. Given my girlfriend had a Bday, i purchased for her as a surprise gift. Same with my friend who graduated college and i wanted to surprise him with a TWD gift.
I guess i was mistaken in the hopes that the release dates would be somewhat set. Apparently as a consumer, it is my responsibility to judge a game and publisher by past failures. But yet, I still wanted a TWD game and this was my only option. All of the biggest complaints is simply the lack of any information or updates. I would never have any issues if we were at least given some feedback or updates. But the lack of any communications should be a huge warning flag that there could be some serious issues at TTG that they just refuse to let the public in on.
Isn't it weird, that crushing and irrational feeling of own responsibility if you give your girl a gift and it somehow doesn't work out for her as planned? I can certainly relate to that.
Concerning the "huge warning flag", I'm not even sure if the reason for the delay and the lack of communication are actually related matters. In any case, there will be a second episode soon, and nothing can force Telltale into communication more effectively than the impending release of said second episode. So at least we'll see how that is handled in the immediate future.
900 post or 4 post is irrelevant, everybody's has a right to voice concern and put their point across.
TTG are clearly prepared to ignore their customers call for an official explanation so that just leaves the fans of the game who all seem to be pro TTG to spit at each other like junk yard dogs. That's not acceptable, we should be discussing the virtues of the game but instead are left wondering and arguing about when the next episode is going to be released, coupled with hearsay and speculation about the delay.
If as some have said that TTG have a pattern of releasing the second episode approx 2 months after the first one then TTG should be happy to be up front and have said approximately in the beginning not to slyly change wording after the fact still with no explanation. Monthly means monthly, not check further to see if there is another obscure definition of the word monthly.
Fore armed is fore warned customers would have then chosen to put their cash down knowing what to expect. TTG DO NOT NEED ANY FANS TO BE APLOGIST FOR THEM, they are big and ugly enough to look after themselves and will release the episodes when they are ready, but that does not stop people having the right to be pissed about the lack of clear communication from a company that has taken our money in advance of delivering all the goods.
Guys, guys, guys (and girls), let's not fight among ourselves. This is always the problem in a zombie apocalypse. It's your fellow humans you have to worry about, not the undead.

I can't fathom how you posted this with a straight face. A customer doesn't need to read between the lines when they buy a product. It was advertised as monthly, don't act like it's the customers own fault for believing the advertising.
If it's not monthly, don't advertise it as such. Especially after the fact. Just because you can change a FAQ or a Steam advertisement after people have already paid for it doesn't give TTG a "get-out-of-jail-free" card.
I understand people not wanting to see constant complaints and I truly didn't want to add to them, but the constant posting by people defending TTG and calling some of us that have politely voiced our discontent "Ignorant" or saying that because we are first time customers that our opinions are less valid than anothers is getting pretty old too.
and IF ttg didn't care at all / ignoring fans they wouldn't of bothered turning up at E3..
getting new customers at E3 has nothing to do with current customers. Seems people that went to E3 have more info on ep2 than the ones who paid for it. that to me is not caring for customers.
Hi all,
Since I bought the 5 episodes for my Mac...I'm waiting quietly.
I read all the comments in this topic each day...when I check the availability episode 2.
I understand a lot of positions in this discussion but two things:
1.Why are the PC and Mac versions sold with 5 episodes and not like the Xbox and Playstation with a price per version?
2.Why is there no communication from Telltale about the delay?
Point 1 would solve a lot of problems.
Point 2 would calm a lot of players that are complaining.
I'm 37 years old and run my own business, but acting like Telltale would kill my business.
Like a lot of new forum-goers, I have lurked around for about 2 months now and I finally decided to give my input. I know my comment will probably be shot down by the people, for some reason, defend TTG to no end but here it goes. Here is episode 1 of Playing Dead. Around 11:50 he says: "Over the course of 5 months, you'll get to really know the characters." I'm really surprised this had not been brought up or I just missed it over the 72 pages. They promised monthly and they failed to deliver but that's not the worst part. The worst part is the lack of communication. A certification process is no reason for a 1 month delay. That have ignored us yet they praise themselves on their Facebook about how great their game is and how much it has sold. I'm sure everyone would have been fine if around May 25th or so they said Episode 2 will be delayed. Sure people would have been angry but we would have known, not guessing for 2 months when it's going to be released. Even Activision and EA act like they care what we have to say. TTG just flat out has been not caring. Thanks for reading.

I hear people say that Telltale has a bad track record, and I get confused. I've been here since they released Sam and Max Season 3. I remember that being a monthly release. Same with Law and Order and BttF.
There may have been a delay here and there, but for the most part, monthly releases were the norm.
Occasional delays in episodic games are to be expected. It's the nature of the beast. And to be fair, delays are quite common even from big studios who don't release things like this.
What's unusual here is the lack of communication. We usually DO get updates. It kind of upsets me when I see people posting about Telltale's terrible track record which doesn't exist.
For those of you who are upset with those of us who are defending Telltale, why? Don't we have as much right to voice our opinions as the rest of you? When somebody is attacking my favorite company, I would feel the need to defend them, even if I completely understand the other person's point of view.

my gripe is not with every anti ttg member it is only the idiots who hurl abuse and stupid arguments that boil down to their mistakes and try to justify them selves when it is clear they did no research or just bought with out reading stuff.
on the other hand there are users on here that are aware and simply don't like the delay and lack of comms i accept them no problem.
customers need to read the small print...going over the same ground again and again..

does that need further explanation teece ?
i put that because i am aware of why people complain...and HOW often..
ttg may not need us to say good stuff, but when people are being unreasonable, stupid and petty. someone has to stand up for what they believe.

And that is all.......
