This series is my first Tell Tale games series I've played. So far I'm really suprised at how much I'm loving this series and the second episode has been awesome! I've really loved seeing how my previous choices are playing out, sure there arn't massive differences yet. Honestly I think it's crazy difficult to make games with so many choices whilst keeping the overal quality of the game high and so far Tell Tale has done an amazing job.
I've played through episode 1 and 2 making my decisions as I go but I've also started playing another two saves. In one of them I'm playing kinda silent so If anyone who's not Clem, Carley, Hershals son or Mark talk to me I just let the timer run out or pick ... where I can, It's suprisingly hard to let things pkay out like this but interesting to see everyones reactions! The other one I'm playing as an a******e to anyone who's not someone I really like (the four above), it's actually quite easy to play like that and kinda fun making enemies... wonder how that'll play out futher on!
:spoil-o: Hi Guys Just Wanted To Say That The Walking Dead Episode 2 Was So Good I Was Looking Forward To It For So Long And I Finally Played It , It Is So Good.
One Player/Character That I Really Hate Is Larry He Is A Dick Not To Bothered Any More I Killed Him Ha Well Technically I Didn't But...
The One Bad Thing Was That It Skipped To 3 Moths Later Which Means You Don't See How The New Character Shawn Joined The Group I Have Read The Comics So I Don't Know Weather Its Related Or If They Are Going To Do Any Background Info On Shawn In The Next Episode Over All I Think The Game Is So Good And It Is Defiantly Worth The Money I Would Recommend It To Any One. The TV Series Is Great Too I Have Watched All Of Them And I Cant Wait For Season 3 I Just Haven't Read The Comics Which I Would Love To Do One Day. Jesus..Larry has a fucking temper!! Why can't you afford a guy with a temper? He might come in handy if you ask me..A physical fight between a zombie and Larry then guess who would win, Larry BISHES..
Hate to disagree with that last part, but my money's on the zombie because Larry's a uncaring, hotheaded, dickwad of a asshole who keeps jumping to conclusions and doesn't bother to keep his mouth shut and listen to anyone's advice. He hates Lee for the sole reason that he got branded as a murderer by the press when it doesn't fucking matter at this point (as Daniel Faraday from Lost would say, what happened happened!), and he ALWAYS is the first to get fired up once bad shit starts happening! Also, the fact that his daughter Lilly is just as big of an unreasonable asshat at times just makes me side with Kenny and the others even more than those two. I swear, once I get the opportunity in this episode, I'm gonna let the son of a gun get killed off, same with Lilly later on down the road! That's how much I HATE those two characters!!!
*Deep breath*
I'm sorry, I just needed to vent a bit. I mean, at least Carly, despite knowing your backstory, is at least nicer about it and an much friendlier and helpful person in the game! That's why I chose to save her at the end of Episode 1 (that, and she's a great shot, too; a valuable trait during any zombie apocalypse, just so you know). So, as one last last bit of venting, here's what I have to say to both Lilly and her jerk of a dad:

The Walking Dead is the first experience I had with TTG and its quite amazing. It's refreshing to have a pure RPG with no FPS at all. It has a lot of tension and good story telling but so far it has failed to make me jump out of my seat... yet. Consider that a challenge TTG.
Hats off to the creators, designers, writers and the voice actor to Clem. In two episodes I came to adore that little girl (actually, she won me over in episode 1). I never went through a game where I became an adoptive parent before. I'm looking forward to episode 3 and what other surprises you have in store for us. :-)
Please keep what you are doing TTG. Yes, it sucks when a game is delayed but after suffering with the mess that was the ending to Mass Effect 3, I rather have a game late than a rushed POS.
Great Story...The Game is too easy tho. Two hours of game play every month
That's what you get for a strong story with interactive elements. You can't just make that a 20 hour game just by throwing in a few more zombies to shoot. It's just_not_that_kind_of_game.
Well that was an absolutely laughable disjointed mess of completely erratic behavior and giant plotholes. The writing really isn't working. At least the wait for EP 3 will be easy because I sure as hell won't be waiting.
Just registered to say that i just loved the second episode, i saw the "twist" coming from very far, being used to this universe, but i had a very good time, totally loved it.
Holy shit! This episode was f*cking awesome! It takes alot to make a follow-up to that 10/10, it had everything! And those St.John folks can just burn and rotten and be eaten in hell! Finally killed Larry!
Hm. I absolutely loved the first episode, but didn't particularly care for this one, unlike most people.
The thing is, it wasn't even poorly done; the story was good, the characters were good. I just didn't like the direction the episode went. I liked the first one because it was more about man vs. zombies than man vs. man. Man vs. man is definitely a legitimate story option, and it's often used in zombie stories. There's absolutely nothing wrong with man vs. man, I just personally prefer to be fighting about and worrying about zombies.
I found this episode to be emotionally exhausting, stressful (neither of which are bad), and ultimately kind of unsatisfying. I guess I would've been more interested in finding food, ammo, and safe lodging and dealing with zombies directly in that regards.
Oh, and I was shocked at how much I liked the character of Mark; I was really hoping that nothing bad would happen to him, but was expecting something bad to happen. I gave some of my food to him. He was a cool guy.
I killed those brothers; I wish I could have beaten both of them to death with my bare hands. I don't care if the group was watching; let the whole world watch on a Jumbotron, I don't care. They are dead men.
I was very, very, VERY, very frustrated when Lee killed Dan and DIDN'T TAKE HIS RIFLE OR ANY WEAPON WHATSOEVER (like the sickle I had been using). I was just shouting at the screen, "Oh COME ON, man!"
So those are my thoughts. This episode doesn't leave me wanting more like episode one did, in part because of how emotionally exhausting it was and I need to rest, and in part because it went in a direction I didn't personally care for. I was hoping for a bit more "Dawn of the Dead Remake" and a bit less "The Road." Which again, I want to reiterate that there's nothing inherently wrong with that, that's just my own personal tastes.
I was really disappointed that Carly looted the car at the end. I didn't. I wonder if Doug would have?
Edit: Oh, and out of a 1-10, I would give the first episode a 9, and this second episode a 7.
Edit again: Oh, oh, oh, and I REALLY didn't like how passive you had to be in regards to Mark's fate. Every time I asked to see him, that woman who owned the farm would be like, "Oh he's fine, he's resting, blah, blah, blah." I was talking to the screen and was like, "No, bitch. No. You let me see him now. I want to see Mark NOW." But Lee was just like, "Oh yeah, it's cool, baby. It's all good." No, it isn't, Lee! It is not!
An absolutely fantastic episode - well worth the wait!
Regarding the cannibalism, I didn't expect it at first, I thought something else: I thought they were keeping a walker alive upstairs (either Brenda's husband or another son), feeding him Mark to keep him "alive".
Well that was an absolutely laughable disjointed mess of completely erratic behavior and giant plotholes. The writing really isn't working. At least the wait for EP 3 will be easy because I sure as hell won't be waiting.
I rate it a 0 out of n.
That's what I call black and white thinking... I guess your scale only consists of either 10 or 0, right? An opinion not worth to be taken seriously, thanks.
@Scelous:
TWD has always been more about the "man vs. man" or "man vs. himself" aspect. The zombies are just scenery - a plot device. The comics are about how people behave in the situation of a zombie apocalypse, that's what differenciates the series from the usual zombie "formular".
The one thing that bugged me was that Doug (or I guess Carley, but in my case it was Doug) wasn't involved more. I guess it would've been too complex to have a more expansive dual storyline for the two of them (depending on who you saved in Ep 1). It'll be really interesting to see, how much the storyline branches out in later episodes... also I guess I have to play Ep 1 again, not save Doug and then play Ep 2 again...

Oh, I know. I read TWD comics, and I watch the show, and I know that's how both of them roll. I know that a lot of zombie stories are like that. The original Night of the Living Dead had the crazy ass father (Larry) providing the group tension there, and at the end it had the whole cops dealing with the survivor thing.
I just find more satisfaction in stabbing a zombie's face with a screwdriver (ep. 1) than I do investigating the mysteries of a farm (ep. 2). I say that there's nothing wrong with focusing on man vs. man, and I still believe that, but I'll admit that after reading the reception, I'm kind of disappointed so many people loved the direction this episode took. I thought there would be a bit more zombie fanatics out there. I noticed people also said they didn't like the beginning of episode two, whereas ironically, that was my most favorite part. My second favorite part was taking down the zombies from the electric fence. Basically, anything that focuses more on zombies and less on human drama, even though I know that's a legitimate problem.
Edit: And actually, having said all that, I want to point out that my most favorite part out of the entire series so far was the initial motel part, where you find the axe and kill those zombies. That was very satisfying, and there was really nothing like that in episode two.
I guess, no matter if people like the direction of this episode more or not, the season will definitely focus around human drama in the episodes to come. But hey, that's what you get when you buy "The Walking Dead"
There are games better suited to do that... Left 4 Dead, Dead Nation, Dead Island, the upcoming Dead State on Kickstarter (although that one might focus more on the living again)...
Played them all, liked them to various degrees. However, they all take a more action movie approach to killing zombies. I've enjoyed killing zombies in TWD because it really feels like you're struggling with the zombie, playing as Lee. You're not just walking around shooting non-stop; you're fighting for your very life, and I appreciate that feel and the difference between those games.
Oh, I see... guess there's no game that utilizes that mechanic more. Now enough with the off topic
And ON topic: I guess the decisions in this episode didn't feel that important, but I sense that the repurcussions depending on who you sided with will play a bigger role later on... Bye bye boat? As that would ever have happened...
That's what I call black and white thinking... I guess your scale only consists of either 10 or 0, right? An opinion not worth to be taken seriously, thanks.
No my scale consists of 0 to n.
Here are some factual complaints then:
The whole cannibalism thing is ripped 1:1 from the comics, except in the comics it happens differently (as in, in a way that actually makes sense).
First off, these farmers can somehow keep people alive after amputation, a feat which a trained vet does not manage to pull off. They do this because the "meat will go bad otherwise" which is complete nonsense.
After slaughter meat is hung for days or weeks, which is a hell of a lot longer than someone who had his limbs cut off with a buzz saw will last without professional medical attention.
But for that they'd need some kind of I dunno, meat locker. Oh wait they have one. Oh but you probably need electricity for that. Oh wait they have all the electricity they could ever need apparently. Well damn. Where in the hell did they even get all that morphine?
Or let's talk about bumbling around in the woods, finding a camp where water is boiling and then assume its probably deserted, let's just hang out here for a bit.
Then Clementine's mom miraculously shows up, dressed in a little vest from a store of some sort, even though she had supposedly been on a trip so either she makes very strange wardrobe choices or found that later and decided to put it on because ???. You might say its probably a sort of gang thing with the raiders but she explicitly says she's not with those anymore. She then confronts the man who she knows has her daughter, who seems to be alive and well and under no duress (this she has witnessed) and instead of mentioning her daughter even for a second, she demands the men leave at weaponpoint. Okey dokey.
That guy with the glasses who gets his legs ate, who was that even? Did he just get introduced offscreen, wth is up with that.
Go into the barn, gotta get into that locked room says kenny, I figure whoa don't be paranoid. Then I look at the door and there is loving blood seeping into the barn from under it. Not to mention there is an IV bag in the wheelbarrow. So then you gotta distract the guy, and the only way, the ONLY way to achieve this is to turn off the thing that is protecting us from the zombies, (if you didn't notice the blood you are doing this completely on a hunch at this point).
First I tried turning it off. The guy just comes out and turns it back on, completely nonplussed. I do it again. Same result. I unscrew the hatch and remove the belt. The guy comes out and is not at all surprised to find the hatch unscrewed and the belt not broken but MISSING. No that happens every day.
Get in there, unscrew all four screws manually (padding for time are we?) and oh look its a murder den! The dude then walks in, sees that I saw the murder den, does nothing about it. Just comments you weird lol. My protagonist at this point also does nothing at all and just goes to dinner with the dude.
Every single choice that I know the alternate outcome of leads to some bizarre parallel universe where the character that bitches at you ceaselessly for doing the thing if you do it, just does it him or herself. So basically the characters are just completely different people depending on your "choices".
You cannot "bring someone back" from cardiac arrest with cpr. A soldier would surely have the most basic first responder skills and know this.
An ongoing theme is people trying to murder the protagonist but you just "have to stick together" because...
All the craziest things just happen to happen. The fence works again later, presumably psycho brother A fixed it, but then if you kill him it instantly breaks as zombies approach. Not to worry though because they don't actually follow our jolly heroes who just walk into the woods to encounter a magical parked car full of goodies. What are the odds?!
Then Clementine's mom miraculously shows up, dressed in a little vest from a store of some sort, even though she had supposedly been on a trip so either she makes very strange wardrobe choices or found that later and decided to put it on because ???
Erm.... that wasn't Clementine's mother. Not sure where you got that from.
She was a woman who used to be with the bandits until they raped her and took her daughter off her for the same thing. That's what sent her over the edge. Her videoed fixation on Clementine was a substitution thing.
All this is pretty clearly spelled out during the encounter at their camp and on the video recording.
She worked at Save Lots (where some of the bandits also worked) hence the vest and her being with the bandits to start with.
I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that she was actually Clementine's mother, unless you took what she said at face value without paying attention to all the other clues.
I'm still amazed this game is getting such rave reviews, despite nothing you do effecting the storyline at all.
You could play through the game twice, choosing the complete opposite decision/dialogue/action the second time round and the storyline would not differ at all.
It wasn't boiling. It was just water.
I wrote off your previous post completely, but come on, man. Are you trolling without having even played the game?
Did you even read your webMD link you posted? CPR does not save you, it staves off brain death for long enough for the paramedics to get to you, who then take you to a fancy OR and do complicated surgery on you using expensive precision machines. You don't just do cpr for a bit and the person will be fine because it just pushes blood around artificially, it does nothing about the underlying cause.
If crazy lady is not clementine's mom then what on earth was the point of the video recording and the inexplicable hat stealing?
If the water wasn't boiling why was steam coming from the pot?
What airforce base. I never went to an airforce base in ep 1 O_O
Anyone else getting tired of the "you can't change the story" people. They bash the game and say it sucks just because THEY don't have complete control over it. Alot of entitlement in the video game community these days.

It's not really entitlement if the developer claims that you can change the story and that turns out not to be the case at all.
ME 3 does it for the ending and nerdrage all over the globe.
Telltale does it for an entire game and it's apparently just fine and dandy.
First I tried turning it off. The guy just comes out and turns it back on, completely nonplussed. I do it again. Same result. I unscrew the hatch and remove the belt. The guy comes out and is not at all surprised to find the hatch unscrewed and the belt not broken but MISSING. No that happens every day.
you do understand that the guy explains why he thought it was broke. He said "damn thing threw the belt again. Which actually does happen ALOT (almost every day) for a generator that doesn't work well. Lol And for the other compalints...do you not listen and watch cutscenes or something? Because you missed alot of info. I vote for a replay on ep 1 and 2 for you
Did you even read your webMD link you posted? Yes, I figured you would think that and hadn't read the entire article if you weren't paying attention to the game.
Okay. Shall we go into this? "In the 506 cases studied, a "return to spontaneous circulation" was achieved 58% of the time when the CCF was 0% to 20%, but rose to 79% when CCF was 81% to 100%. Return to spontaneous circulation means that the heart began to beat effectively again on its own."
Now, as a medical student, we all know that ROSC, or return to spontaneous circulation occurs WITHOUT ANY IMMEDIATE IMPETUS from another tool. That means no defibrillator, not even CCF. CCF can assist in ROSC, however, which increases the odds of ROSC, as you can see from the article.
Yes, you do CPR a bit and they can revive. That can happen, there are plenty of cases of that happening. I'm not sure what to tell you.
In fact, I'm not even sure why I'm discussing this. Laserschwert, don't reply to this guy, please.

It just goes on and on.
No YOU'RE awesome!!!
Erm.... that wasn't Clementine's mother. Not sure where you got that from.
It wasn't boiling. It was just water.
It wasn't Clem's mom.
It was Mark, who they found at the Air Force base.

I wrote off your previous post completely, but come on, man. Are you trolling without having even played the game?
You could play through the game twice, choosing the complete opposite decision/dialogue/action the second time round and the storyline would not differ at all.
It's not really entitlement if the developer claims that you can change the story and that turns out not to be the case at all.
ME 3 does it for the ending and nerdrage all over the globe.
Telltale does it for an entire game and it's apparently just fine and dandy.
you do understand that the guy explains why he thought it was broke. He said "damn thing threw the belt again. Which actually does happen ALOT (almost every day) for a generator that doesn't work well. Lol And for the other compalints...do you not listen and watch cutscenes or something? Because you missed alot of info. I vote for a replay on ep 1 and 2 for you
Yes, I figured you would think that and hadn't read the entire article if you weren't paying attention to the game.
