I would find it kinda ridiculous if she wasn't drop dead (and maybe even moaning) and my Main Char wouldn't just left his romance not so dead on the street to be eaten by Walkers
They flirted a lot ^^;
Because when we had conversation near RV, Сarley sad "Thank You Lee" and in the left top of the screen, it shows a massege "Carley will remember that"... Why did is shows?
To confuse you. To make you think she was going to be around for a while. To make her death even more shocking.
She's dead unfortunately no doubt about it, but what upsets me was they just left her body there. She was shot in there head so they didn't have to worry about her coming back. I would have at least brought her into the RV and wrapped her in a sheet or something and give her a proper burial as opposed to leaving her body to the walkers.

Open road, getting dark, walkers all around, everyone shocked and confused and fighting...yeah let's stop and sing Amazing Grace too.

to me that appears in the middle of the argument, and i lol so hard at the second time i play because it should appear "Carley will remember that...for the 30 seconds she got left"

I don't like your snippy tone haha. Obviously not bury her there, but bring her into the RV and bury her some where when they had a chance like when they got to the train. I'm not opposed to the amazing grace through, beautiful song.
I think this game gave me a few of the biggest OMFG moments I ever got in a game. That point were Carley died was sheer shock, really felt like I was in the game. And when Katjaa shot herself. ):
I don't think Carleys death was random either, you could tell Lilly was falling apart. And that Katjaa was depressed.
Honestly my only concern about this episode is that it may have killed too many good characters in too short a time. it's literally Clem and Ken now and three strangers I know nothing about.
(spoiler alert!)I think that Carley should have lasted longer. They should have kept her alive until the end of episode 4. Then there would have been more impact, particularly if Lee had slept with her. Romance hasn't been explored in this game as it has in the comics. In the comics deaths take the readers by surprise, they are sporadic. In the game someone dies every episode so it's less shocking and has less impact. I'm getting used to them dying now. Telltale should have had an episode without any of the main characters dying to give a false sense of security like what Kirkman has done with the comics then drop a bomshell like with comic issue 100.

This episode was a bomb shell, only 4 of the original group is left.

Any chance of romance in the series should now be killed off with the death of Carley. Like the first time you fall in love in real life, you will never feel quite like that again.

Yup, i think same... It was too fast... She should last longer... Well, (we met her in the end of ep 1), she almost didn't appear in Ep2 (just right at the start and at the end) and she just die right at the start of Ep3? it's too fast... And i thought it will be another dead, like bandits. No shot by a teammate...
Maybe Carley didn't really died. After being shot there wasn't any blood coming from her head, like Katja or Duck. There were some blood, but she wasn't bleeding. That blood could be from the bullet that scratched her face and knocked her out or itcould belong to the walker that Kenny hit with the RV. And you can hear a faint breathing. So she could be alive, just unconcious. I hope TTG will bring her back.

I thought that was Carley at first too, but now I think that was just Lily realizing that she dug her own grave when she pulled the trigger

The main char was married before and killed a Senator over it.
So I guess he is past his first time real love experience,..
Apart from that, something I find rather annoying about the game is that I have no clue how the murder has happened. Almost every Charakter in the game, who's read about the murder case (like Carley, the Lillys Father, Lilly,..) does know more about it.
So it's kinda frustrating to be not sure if I make the main char lying or not (assumed first that he got setup for the crime / was actually innocent)
Alright everyone, I FINALLY got the chance to finish episode three, between work and the debacle with Steam (which honestly didn't bother me that much because I didn't really get to play it until today anyway!). Here are my thoughts:
The beginning pacing felt a bit rushed to me. Don't get me wrong, I love a game that sticks you right into the action, but to me there seemed to be little bit of vital background information missing, even as you walk around and talk to all of the characters. I believe it is a case of seeing it, versus talking about it. I didn't really FEEL the tension between the group that was so vital to the story until we were all seated together in the RV. The pacing improves in the middle of the game, but the ending felt a bit abrupt - I honestly thought that there could have been a bit more interaction with the rest of the group after we got the train moving again.
The mini games were the best that they've been, in my opinion! I felt the rush of adrenaline as I was stuffing my bag full of supplies, as I shot at bandits to give my party the cover they needed to get to the RV, as I took out the walkers to give Doug enough time to get the RV running. I had already predicted the train start-up in another thread, but I think you managed to balance the level of technicality with believability perfectly. Also, I think the amount of interactivity was PERFECT in this episode - I really felt more as the driving force of the story as opposed to merely a passenger.
The decisions in this episode were not as difficult to make - but my emotions making them were a total WRECK! Choosing to shoot Duck so that Kenny wouldn't have to - I KNEW I had to do it, but I bawled like a baby the entire time (especially because Duck now thought I was incredibly awesome!). I put the poor girl in Macon out of her misery, and completely resented taking the flack from EVERYONE back at camp for it. The hardest decision to me was whether or not to let Lilly stay on the RV - there were so many different levels to influence my choices there that I almost found myself frozen when I was given the option. I eventually let her stay, but let me tell you, I doubted myself the entire time about it. I'm not the kind of person who EVER regrets past decisions, so hats off to you Tell Tale Games!
The story twists were AMAZING in this episode. I was floored when Doug was shot by Lilly - and the shock of it didn't fully wear off until we were driving away in the RV with his body left at the side of the road. I was both saddened and royally PISSED that Lilly took the RV and left us all to die. I knew Kenny and Katjaa were going to have a hard time with Duck's death, but I would have never expected Katjaa to have taken her own life (I had always imagined it would be Kenny!). And when Ben confessed to Lee, I was forced to choke on my defense of him. Hearing the voice on the walkie-talkie chilled me to the bone! I was super-glued to the edge of my seat the entire time.
Now for the new characters. Okay, admitting this now - I was utterly WRONG about Christa being a man, but in my defense, the still in the video we had did not do her justice. She looks incredibly more feminine within the game (she even looks like she is wearing makeup!). Omid is a bit too aloof for my tastes, and he makes a stark contrast with Christa's harsh and unforgiving criticism. Chuck has my alarm bells sounding off - I have yet to decide if I can trust him or not (trust in that I can reasonably predict how everyone is going to react to a given situation, which is ultimately selfish). I do like that it seems he is the only person around that had NOT been affected by the apocalypse - he seems to live his life in the exact way he would were it NOT the end of the world. It will be interesting to see how the new group dynamics play out (especially should Kenny find out that Ben is responsible for the bandit attack, which in my opinion is destined to happen!).
I have never written up a "review" before, but I need to say this now - up until episode three, I had given TWD a score of about seven out of ten. I can safely say that this is now shaping up to be one of my favorite games of all times, and only looks to continue getting better with each episode! 10 out of 10 for episode three, and I can't wait for episode four!
Catch you all on Monday - can't wait to hash out all of the gritty details!
Apart from that, something I find rather annoying about the game is that I have no clue how the murder has happened. Almost every Charakter in the game, who's read about the murder case (like Carley, the Lillys Father, Lilly,..) does know more about it.

My Lee snapped at Ben because of it
When he learned that Ben was indeed the selfish, coward and betraying liar he is. ^^
yeah they keep dragging the specifics of the murder out, when i told katjaa i killed someone she asked for specifics and i dont think Lee could have been more vague , all i know is that it was a fight and that's it
I am disappointed in this episode. Not because there was bad writing or no story as I have read some others post but because it was WAY to SHORT. Episode 2 had a whole lot more exploring and missions to accomplish and this one was the least of them all so far. Another thing what is the deal with releasing this Episode on consoles before it is released to already paying customers? That just pisses me off. I finished this episode inside 45 mins and that was twice. Beef it up guys come on I know you can do it I saw what was in episode two already. You have got to do better!!
I was actually really disappointed with this episode. The way they got rid of so many survivors was really frustrating.
I was just starting to bond with Lilly and then she just murdered Carley and stole the RV, I was so pissed about that. Carley was my favorite survivor aside from Clem. Then there was Duck, I never liked him and even resented him, but it was actually a really painful experience for me to see him die, and Katjaa killing herself over it. I'm honestly more upset about how selfish Katjaa was with what she did, she was the only one with medical training, we really needed someone like her, not to mention how Kenny has to feel, that he wife would rather die and leave him all alone than try to cope with the pain together. Kenny and I had a bit of a falling out, between Larry and him damn near leaving me to die at the start of episode 3, but seeing him lose his wife and kid was heartbreaking, and really made me feel bad for him.
Idk all in all I think it was a pretty bad way to go about it, killing off most of the survivors.
Episode three was amazing, better than the others I will admit. My game did glitch a lot which really began bugging me.
Most shocking - When Lilly shot Carley, I was SHOCKED. I really liked Lilly as a character because I knew there was a softer side to her. Now I'm glad I kicked her out. Carley was one of my favourite characters so damn you Telltale! I admired Carley for speaking her mind and how friendly she was towards Lee during the Episodes.
When Clem had turned in the RV I thought it was for real, I was so gutted until I found out it was just a dream. Love you Clemclem<3
They really need to make a romance between someone and Lee, it would be an interesting story. Carley and Lee would have been and was beginning to becoome interesting until Lilly killed her off.
To think it was Ben that was stealing supplies to give to the bandits, if it was up to me I would of kicked him out for not confessing. Real shame Carley died.
The walkie talkie?! I can't wait to see who it is and what happens. Reminded me of the comics for some reason, the Woodsbury incident.
Here's what's funny. I started playing Episode 1 all over again and guess the first thing that happens when you arrive in Macon?
Carley shoots a zombie attacking Duck.
Lilly shouts at Carley for letting your families into the pharmacy.
Carley shouts back that Lilly was just going to let them die.
Lilly shouts about how hard it is being a leader and that Carley should shut the hell up and just let her tell everyone what to do.
Carley shouts at Lilly for being a paranoid dictator who was going to let everyone die.
Lilly shouts that, damn straight, she was going to let them die. She even shouts that they should kick them right back out the door.
So for those of you surprised that Lilly turned psychotically paranoid and shot Carley in the face for sassing her...we all should have seen that coming a LONG time ago. Lilly was ALWAYS a cold-blooded asshole and anyone thinking anything different was trying too hard to justify her flavor of crazy.

All I can say now is, who's up for Episode four!
Yeah, i really liked idea about Romance between Carley And Lee... Until she died... That was really... Awful, i don't really feel good about it... I will miss Carley good advices... That'll be great if she come back in one of later episodes (5? She knew about Savannah.)
The intensity of this episode was phenomenal and telltale consistently deliver something so original, refreshing and indulgent. I adore these games and, although the release dates frustrate the hell out of you, this is just a real achievement. This is the most emotional investment I've ever given to a game and that is astonishing.
To hear that they intend to do a second season is an absolute delight.
Phenomenal stuff.
Now I've stopped gushing, I'll get round to reviewing some aspects in the coming days.
I don't think anyone said he died, just that he was gone. The picture of Terry in the St. John's house looks like Chuck, he said he had a family 14 years ago... and the photo of the family with two boys is just gone from the train engine after Chuck shows up.
I don´t think hes Terry St. John, because if you take a good look at the picture in the train you will notice that the boy on the right is wearing a red t-shirt with a symbol like the one Glen is using. Do you remember when Lee ask about Glen´s family? He began to stutter and trying to avoid answering the question. I think hes Glen´s father

Glenn's father? Glenn was stuttering because he hated his parents. This was clear in the comics.
Episode 3 was amazing and there were many jaw dropping moments (RIP Carly). Well anyway I have an thought as to whom the mysterious person shown at the end might be.....get ready for it......HERSHEL GREENE!!! Dun Dun Dun. Lol. I know that it probably is not him but it was a thought. He could still be pissed about his son getting killed and could be out for revenge. But I digress, I guess we will see who it is when episode 4 comes out. P.S. Perhaps Lily has something to do with the mysterious person....who knows.
I just wanna say straight up, I was an extremely loyal fan of this game from Ep. 1 -2 and couldn't wait for Ep. 3 to come out. However, it saddens me to say, I damn near hated Ep. 3 (after leaving the motel), and it's not only because of the huge Carley/Doug death scene (which did suck but whatever) and Katjaa/Duck's death, but it's more the fact that I had no chance to stop or even alter those and other events.
I'm realizing that almost none of my choices are beginning to matter, whether I choose to say I'm the traitor or Ben or Carley/Doug, there's still only one outcome. No matter what I do/say to Kenny and Katjaa, there's only the one outcome. And honestly, it pisses me off, it's been such a great ride till now and I don't think I can continue.
Basically, my point in all of this is saying, unless there's plan to change some of this, don't pull a Mass Effect 3 and leave us with a false sense of choice. Whenever this season is done and before it gets released on the inevitable retail disc comp, PLEASE, go back and fix Episode 3. Give the choice back to the player, I don't mind sad situations in video games/movies/etc, but when a game says on the screen, it's tailored to how you play and your choices alter the story, I want that to be true!
My suggestion is go back and fix things, take a queue from Heavy Rain, where what happens to you, is based on how good you are, not so you're helpless to the writing gods of TWD. For example, where Lilly is making them vote who to kick out of the group. There should be an intense voting scene or attempt to stop Lilly physically before something happens. Or notice that Katjaa and/or Kenny has a gun and try to get it from them before they leave to "say goodbye" to Duck. It would make so much more sense and give you a serious feeling of dread when it's intense and fulfillment when you know you stopped something from going wrong. There are so many ways to go with that and in episode 3 I felt pivoted into a single path. A seriously uninteresting path, where these 4 characters I got to know and care about for 2 episodes are all gone within 30 minutes. It goes from sad to WTF moment.
I didn't mean for this post to be this long and ranty, but I hope that, TTG, you guys take this to heart. I think it's reasonable and constructive, it'd also give more reason to keep going back and replaying this even more. I know there's gonna be haters, but screw it, it's the internet.
From a former fan and to whoever responds with courtesy and respect, thanks for your time.

Lastnight I started playing with my Silence save, got to the part at the motel when the bandit's first show up.
Lilly says to stall them, just talk to keep them from pulling the trigger.
So I go outside, but since im playing this time with only silence, I chose the ****, the head bandit then says "you think this is a fuckin joke?" BAM!! bullet to lee's head!
I laughed my ass off!!
Good one TellTale. They know alot of people play the silent version and this was (in my opinion) just kinda a joke.

I started out by insulting the guy. I think lee said something along the lines of fuck you or something to that effect. I found it funny when the bandit said: "You think you're a hard motherfucker don't you?"
Glenn's father? Glenn was stuttering because he hated his parents. This was clear in the comics.
Yes! But that does not mean he is not the Glenn´s Father. Right? I have not read all the volumes of comics and that is why I thought he could be Glenn´s Father.

Yeah, u have no chance to stop or even alter those and other events... U can't stop Lilly from killing Carley, and other events... I knew Ben was traitor , and i couldn't do anything about that too... I Think Ep 1-2 was better than that one...
I've been lurking around the forum since completing ep. 3 and I've seen two main complaints repeated over and over, both of which I agree with:
1: The death of Carley (+ Doug)
2: The lack of impact our decisions have made on the story
The lack of influence in this episode and the loss of many key relationships makes eps. 1 and 2 feel slightly hollow. Every decision we made up to this point, while awesome at the time, has lead to nothing more than a couple of alternative dialogue options. It also makes me slightly nervous about future episodes. I don't feel my contribution has any meaning and the only character I really care about is Clem.
IMO, all of this could have been fixed in one moment. If we as players could have influenced Lily to shoot Ben instead of Carley/Doug, it would have killed two birds with one stone. This would have made eps. 1+2 even more relevant, with Lily only trusting us if we had sided with her and not Kenny earlier on in the story. This one big decision could have changed the entire feel of the chapter and the game as a whole, even if everything else remained exactly the same.
(side note: IMO it would have been even better if the drama focussed on Katjaa and Duck, rather than Ben and Carley. Imagine how Lily would have reacted had she known Duck had been bitten, especially considering the Kenny/Larry incident. It would have really emphasised the Lily/Kenny divide that had been brewing since ep. 1 and put Lee right in the middle. The battle between those two kinda just deflated which was a huge disappointment...but that's another thing entirely.)
The thing is, I don't have a problem with the episode itself, as such. The RV scene was a hugely impactful and emotional moment, especially considering we found out later on that Ben WAS the 'traitor'. The thing that bothers me the most is that it could have been better. The drama could have remained just as impactful, but we could have felt like we were actually influencing things. If we could have nudged Lily one way or the other, I would be sitting here thinking, "this is the best thing I've seen in a long time." Instead I have a gnawing feeling of disappointment that I'm just a passenger in this story after all.
Part of me would like to see such a decision patched in, but even if it was (which it won't be) it's already too late. The moment has happened.
Other notes: The Katjaa/Duck scene - thumbs up. The new characters - thumbs down. I don't care about them at all. Maybe I will in time, but right now, meh.
The game also loses a review point IMO simply for being so unbelievably buggy. From graphics errors to lost saves, I've had problems pretty much everytime I've switched the game on and that's not really good enough.
Anyway, that's just my opinion. Probably not worth the effort, but it felt cathartic typing it
yeah a big bug when they are next to the train at the beggining before we get it sorted, we don't see duck in his mother arms for a while, she's carrying an invisible duck
wanted to kill the walkers who attacked the women instead of put her out of his misery but i failed (not sure this was possible, perhaps someone did it?) so it said i've choose to let her alive and i didn't like to hear her crying while i was taking some stuff, will have to play again just to change this choice who wasn't really mine.. and kill her if i can't kill the walkers.. that would have been good to be able to save the game when we want so we can do it again in case of we did a choice we didn't want..
same for carley i didn't want her to be killed and would have like to say it was me but the time was running out and i press a choice i didn't want.. not sure it would have changed something either..
i don't know what impact will have our choices in the next episodes but we don't have a lot of time to choose and sometimes it's not what we really want, specially for people like me who are not english and need a bit of time to read and understand all options..
but again that was a great episode, i hope we won't have to wait too much for the next one this time...:(

Lilly's a good shot.
Im not sure Lilly hasent been sleeping in days and is very paranoid, angry so was she a good enough shot at that point to kill either Carley or Doug?

Might explain why Lee didn't react much towards Carley's death, but from the player's perspective Carley was the first in-game love interest.

Catch you all on Monday - can't wait to hash out all of the gritty details!
yeah they keep dragging the specifics of the murder out, when i told katjaa i killed someone she asked for specifics and i dont think Lee could have been more vague , all i know is that it was a fight and that's it
I was just starting to bond with Lilly and then she just murdered Carley and stole the RV, I was so pissed about that.
All I can say now is, who's up for Episode four!
Yeah, i really liked idea about Romance between Carley And Lee... Until she died... That was really... Awful, i don't really feel good about it... I will miss Carley good advices... That'll be great if she come back in one of later episodes (5? She knew about Savannah.)
hell yeah he aint that cool!!!and he looks like sid the evil neighbor in toystory
To hear that they intend to do a second season is an absolute delight.
Phenomenal stuff.
Now I've stopped gushing, I'll get round to reviewing some aspects in the coming days.

Probably not worth the effort, but it felt cathartic typing it
wanted to kill the walkers who attacked the women instead of put her out of his misery but i failed (not sure this was possible, perhaps someone did it?) so it said i've choose to let her alive and i didn't like to hear her crying while i was taking some stuff, will have to play again just to change this choice who wasn't really mine.. and kill her if i can't kill the walkers.. that would have been good to be able to save the game when we want so we can do it again in case of we did a choice we didn't want..
same for carley i didn't want her to be killed and would have like to say it was me but the time was running out and i press a choice i didn't want.. not sure it would have changed something either..
i don't know what impact will have our choices in the next episodes but we don't have a lot of time to choose and sometimes it's not what we really want, specially for people like me who are not english and need a bit of time to read and understand all options..
but again that was a great episode, i hope we won't have to wait too much for the next one this time...:(
