You beat my thread by half a minute LOL merging mine with yours...
Seems like it will be a first person game and based off the TV show more than the comic.. for ME the more the better.. and it will provide an alternate vision of the franchise I will be keeping an eye on this one.
I much prefer a story driven walking dead experience like TTG game.. but I cant lie and say I will not be interested in giving this a shot... Im particularly interested in seeing how they handle being able to avoid or fight.
Plus some of those characters back stories will be pretty cool to see... I really hope its not mishandled.
On the business side of this.. it shouldn't cause any problems because the two games are not being released anywhere NEAR the same time.
Yay. A zombie shooter that was everything The Walking Dead needs to avoid. Why not make more adaptations that miss the point?
Activision Presents:
Epic Mickey: Disnepocalypse. We took out that lame painting feature and instead focused on making a brawler where you pit Disney characters against each other. No, there are no Final Fantasy characters.
Mass Effect 4. Finally, a purely linear story with no choices and no customization in character building. Takes place (only) in rural Arkansas.
The Elder Scrolls: Modern Magewar. All the balls out action you expect from the most extreme FPS series ever! Equip your soldier with magic missiles, burning handsgrenades or the popular MP-47! Melt terrorists, defend freedom or just teabag lesser mages! The choice is yours! (Not featured: dragons, fantasy or Tamriel.)
Lets hope it uses CoD's engine. Only reason I enjoy CoD (game mechanics-wise) it that on console it gets 60 FPS.
Otherwise, this is the type of game I've been waiting for (hopefully). Only thing that'd make me happier is if it's sandbox. Oh god, the buckets I'd fill.
Activision has announced a new game based on The Walking Dead. Not to be confused with Telltale’s episodic The Walking Dead adventure game, Activision’s version is a first-person action game based on AMC’s The Walking Dead TV show.
Developed by Terminal Reality, The Walking Dead will revolve around Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle on a “haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta.” Players will control Daryl as they attempt to avoid detection from zombies that hunt using sight, sound and smell and will choose between fighting them or using stealth to avoid detection. According to Activision, “No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.”
Supplies will be scarce and players will need to carefully manage food, ammunition and supplies as they make their way through the game. Daryl will encounter “a slew of other characters” along the way that can help or hurt him. Whether or not these characters accompany Daryl is completely up to the player and “represents just some of the major decisions that will constantly be made while fighting to survive.”
The Walking Dead will hit stores in 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Few other details are available, but check out the game’s official site for more info in the future. Until then, keep an eye out for all the latest announcements about The Walking Dead TV show before it returns to AMC for season three later this year.
I smell two-player co-op, regenerating health, ten thousand zombies being blown apart in an hour, and a considerable lack of survival elements in the name of broad marketing appeal.

And they use Daryl and Merles good name and reputation to sell the stinky product.

Ok just watched this and checked its info on ign sounds like a half decent game accept I am now looking for gameplay/screenshots anyway thought I would show you lot, sorry for advetising it but yhh...
The Telltale game is perfect. The Walking Dead is all about the story and characters, after all
It does say that you'll meet different people through the game and decide if they're the type of people you want to group with. You'll also have to preserve food, supplies, etc.

I am sure to like the TTG more.. I am a firm believer that there is some fun to be found with different experiences.
When people were trolling the boards with "WHY ISNTT TEH GAEM A SHOOTER!!!1!1111!!?" threads I would reply that every game doesn't have to be a shooter to be fun. Now on the other side of that coin Just because WD works pretty well as a story driven adventure game.. it doesn't mean that a more action based shooter stealth survival game cant be fun as well. I am going to keep an open mind. I hope its great, you never know.
Well when I said "I have a bad feeling about this" I was right in more ways than one
Oh, wow. It's strange really. I love everything that has to do with the Walking Dead and Daryl is my favorite new character from the T.V. series. There's something about this game that's making me go... meh.
Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't think TWD is really fit for a FPS. Seeing who is making it gives very little hope though.

Yup, definitely getting this game.

Crystal ball??? Can we atleast see some gameplay before bashing it? Anything Walking Dead and I'm at least going to give it a chance.

A cheap production to make quick profit.
