Jesus £600!? It's like they don't know how much $80 is!

and yet, people will pay $500 or more for a fricken iPad. You know who you are.

If it can play games, control your TV, TiVo, Bluray player, external speakers, and whatever else; watch Netflix (et al), get NFL Sunday Ticket (all NFL games live and on demand), and whatever else... then you can bet that some people would pay for it.

After all, people are willing to pay a thousand dollars for a simple surround speaker amp.

Something that wasn't announced on the stream: apparently it needs to connect to the internet once every 24 hours.

I was actually going to mention that,I knew someone would beat me to it though,at least it was a Telltale employee.

Holy fuck that buggeroffkinja guy is a fucking tool.
The delicious irony is if you can afford to waste the bandwidth reading this article (and complaining about the connection requirement). You can sure as hell connect your xbox to the internet once every 24 hours to validate your session.

Let the irrational nerd tears flow!

After quite a few legit reasons why people can't get (stable / reliable) Internet, some being people who travel a lot, people in the service, people in certain parts of the US that don't have any coverage from any ISP, cases where the router just randomly dies, cases where the Internet might be down due to maintainance or perhaps even a fucking hurricane, in case of moving to another place, cases where Microsoft's servers are down, those are only a few of the instances, this person is just saying, "just purchase a PS4 then."

    Also, a nice counter-argument:
    1) Phones have Internet.
    2) Libraries have Internet.
    3) People can browse the Internet at work
    4) People can browse the Internet at friends' houses

No nerd tears here. If the system requires validation once a day, then the moment Microsoft stops supporting it EVERY GAME EVER BOUGHT FOR IT IS GARBAGE. So the games have no value. There is no need for "tears", Microsoft just fucked up massively. Done and done.

The availability of internet in some regions might be a valid argument, but sincerely, absolutely not why I'd protest. I simply do not see why I should allow a miserable company to routinely check whether I'm an actual customer of theirs every 24 hours. In fact, I demand that they leave me the fuck alone with the legally purchased product.

    xb1 = bigbrother gaming edition..

i have a webcam but i always disconnect it when i'm not using it which is most of the time as that nagging doubt someone could see me through it..

can you imagine the problems if the authentication system goes down / temporary web shutdown' you take a day off work to buy/play a new game.. but you get home and find out you can't do squat with it because of the above reasons...

and what's the penalty for not having the system linked up within every 24 hours ? is it cos they feel the system is going to be akin to windows full of bugs? and needs patching almost every freaking day ?

'hal' quote 'i can't let you do that (insert name here 'portal/synth voice optional')

then proceeds to do a system check/update scan then refuses you access to anything till it's finished. occasionally popping up a qte moment to make sure you haven't just left it alone and if you have it then restarts and waits for you to come back, and cos of kinect it'll know you're there ;)

Can the Xbox One even order Pizza Hut?
  • edited May 2013
  • edited June 2013
You have to order a pizza once a day or the pizza hut app shuts down.
  • edited June 2013
Note: all games are launched through the Pizza Hut app for the optimum all-in-one user experience.
  • edited June 2013
You are all wrong. Your Xbox will first scan you and if it thinks you are fat or your blood pressure is too high it will order a salad instead.

It should order non refundable pizza for you based on when it thinks you are hungry.

Nah. I know you're joking because that would actually be something useful to the world. They put a lot of time and effort into purposely making a product that has nothing useful about it. Well, okay. That's a lie. They're giving us the brand new ability of being able to watch TV through our TV while we're playing a game. I mean, you used to have to go through the tedious process of tapping an input/source button but they fixed that. People can now be even more lazy, give the kinect a little Nazi how-ya-do and it's off to the races.

Well a new rumor is that a leaked image shows the Xbox One's E3 lineup here's the link

    http://www.screwattack.com/news/rumor-leaked-picture-suggests-halo-5-fable-iv-and-new-banjo-kazooie

So after you have checked out the link what do you guys think? Some of the games are ones already shown at the Xbox One reveal and then there's Banjo Kazooie Grunty Land shown on the image. Its cool BK may get a new game if this turns out to be true but i have a bad feeling it could be a mini game collection or something like that. Its just a bad feeling from two things. One is Rare has only been working on Kinect Sports for the last few years which is a mini game collection and then there's the title BK Grunty Land because it sounds like a mini game collection made in a theme park that was created by Grunty. It could be a platformer but this is just my personal thoughts on some speculation on what it could be or if the image is even true :/
  • edited June 2013
VERY unsure about this. Grunty-Land sounds, as Ryan says, like a mini-game collection, while Fable IV? They're remaking the original one, they don't really have time to make a new one.

    Will wait and see.

As a massive Banjo-Kazooie fan, allow me to say-

    ZGp.jpg

On Xbox One? Dead to me.

    If the leak is genuine...
They finally have some good news and it is possible it will be a real Banjo-kazooie game and Fable has always been the best thing on the Xbox...
  • edited June 2013
Fable 1 yes. 2 or 3, not so much.

It would probably be the first Fable game without Molyneux, which could only be a good thing.

Meh still not enough to warrent getting an Xbox One. Even so, my trust in Rare to make a good BK game is gone completely because it sounds like a Kinect mini game collection like Kinect Sports and wasn't Fable 2 & 3 crap?
  • edited June 2013
and perfect dark zero was utter trash, killer instinct looked great but played like crap or was that number 2 i dunno..

the xbox live arcade remake of perfect dark '64' was pretty good.

and goldenye was remade by someone else and they ruined it...the wii version is awfull i may have to get it on xbox lol

    Leak disproven, topic locked.

Not saying nothing is true, I mean, Spartan Assault is definitely coming (on Windows 8), but the leak is most likely not legit.

I wana play WWE with a kinect game so I can wrestle people using a camera.
  • edited June 2013
The problem with Fable was they wanted to innovate and 'abolish all menus' etc
What they didn't realize is we like Menus, we like complex levelling up systems or at least more complex than opening chests...
You don't lock features such as marriage until you level up to be able to...

Hopefully as they are making a Fable 1 remake...
They can learn from their mistakes...

And I think it is plausible A 1 remake and 4 to be made at the same time as the exact same thing happened with Halo...

You'd make the 'last item you purchased' thread explode. :o

Not sure if Grunty land will be a platform or a mini game crapfest. Since at this point ********** has raped Rare long enough.

It's nice to see Microsoft clarifying some of the... let's be generous and say "controversial" decisions regarding XBO. Though I'm still not buying that Microsoft's privacy policy is going to hold up against a legally obtained warrant.

OK,let's try and summarise Milo's post, for those who don't want to click half a dozen links.

    The Good
    - You CAN turn the Kinect off.
    - You can share your games with 10 'family members'.

    The Bad
    - Games "can only be given once". This is incredibly vague, but I think it means that you can delete a game from your account and give it to someone else to install on theirs, and they can do the same. I THINK.
    - The XBone has to connect to the internet once every 24 hours.
    - Games CAN be traded in - if the publisher allows it (which they won't).
