Really? Shame. I got Anachronox working fine, and it was the original retail copy. Patched up the wazoo of course, but it's not let me down yet. PM me if you want more details and such. As for Outcast, it takes a while to get into, but once you get past the opening snow-based island, it really does open up and become a lot of fun (if you can put up with the graphics).

On topic, I've recently found myself with a lot of free time, so I've been getting my Duke3D collection up and working. Just finished Duke It Out in DC, and I'm amazed at how easy it is to get stuck on some of the maps.

Also playing Tomb Raider: Underworld on the PS3 (controls like a completely different game from Legend and honestly, I do not like it) , and Lego Star Wars Complete on the 360, (I've 100% it about three times already on various different consoles and it's really boring going through the whole thing yet again).

All the patches are on in original order, but it's still shot. Might be specific to Win 7 64bit. If you have anything that I could try to make it work, much appreciated. The gamekilling bug is described here.

Wow. I have genuinely never heard of that bug before. Very, very bizarre. I'm guessing you've tried holding down the backslash button for a minute or two before initiating the level change? Short of that, all I can suggest is using one of those savegames provided. Or asking me very, very nicely to 7-Zip my Anachronox folder and upload it somewhere for you. (Yes I'm kidding)

I got SimCity 2000 of Good Old Games.

And I've mostly got used to it.
(I played the DS game and its not that far off it)

I was actually making very good money, till a tornado obliterated half of my city!

Recoverable, but I quit, since I wanted to have more money before having to face disasters.

Very addictive game though. Can spend hours playing and planning.

Minecraft. Becuase I couldnt find a new controller and I aint paying $15 for the deus ex dlc without a review of it!

By the way, it may just be me, but losing your inventory for dieing is a little unfair for dieing, especialy if you are traveling/don't have a proper shelter yet.

The only game that matters now is Arkham City.

Your words suggest that they are released in different months, but they are not.
In fact, they release only 5 days apart from each other.

EDIT: Ohh.... the console versions of Arkham City released already. Well, that has no bearing on me, since I have neither console.

I feel poor and uncool now. All my facebook friends are talking about Arkham City, and I'm not playing it... :( I'm play testing The Sims 3 Pets now that it's installed. (Side note: EA must have gotten their heads out their asses, because the game is actually running with very little bugs so far. Unlike the landslide of broken features in the previous titles.)

I've been playing my way through SBCGFAP in the order 2, 4, 3 (just finished) and 5 (probably starting tonight), leaving 1 out completely because no part of it wows me.

Strong Badia the Free feels good every time I play it, as it plays to both my thirst for Adventure and hunger for Real-time Strategy land. Love the way it plays on KoT being a hungry dope.

Dangeresque 3's graphics and writing are perfect for the way Strong Bad thinks. Very immersive but gets tiresome in places.

Baddest of the Bands is one I normally neglect in playthroughs because I remember the band sabotage act to be very tedious. However, when KoT started beating the crap out of the speaker to kill the lobster, I couldn't resist laughing so hard. Brilliant final act. Love the Metal too.

8-Bit is Enough plays on my love for retro gaming and the Doom-like ending was the most fantastic end to the series they could have done.

SBCGFAP had some highs and lows, the lows mostly Telltale's old arbitrary "do these 3-5 boring things", a puzzle model which I hope they gradually stop using in time. The highs in SB4AP, they were the gameplay, storyline, references and keeping true to the franchise. We got these in abundance with ToMI, S&M S3 and BttF, so I'm confident they will continue to shine.

Finally, there needs to be a Homestar Runner Metal band, featuring (dark rebel Sultry Buttons version of) Marzipan and Strong Bad on vocals, Strong Mad on bass, The Cheat on drums and KoT on guitar, perhaps with Pom Pom on the keyboard and/or Bubs on keytar. Perhaps Poopsmith could go round smashing stuff up. Just an idea. One rule: keep Homestar, Homstar and Coach Z away from vocals, lest they turn into the next Matt Tuck, John Osbourne or Zack De La Rocha.

Playing some Orcs Must Die! from time to time to get 5 skulls on War Mage difficulty, I am only missing 3 maps. After that I will try and complete Nightmare difficulty.
3 seconds between every wave, no breaks and instant start. It's going to be fun. :)
Also playing some more Titan Quest, just found out playing as a Paladin (Storm Mastery + Defence Mastery) is really fun.

Zelda II was once the bane of my existence. I could barely finish the first palace and make it into Death Mountain before the game totally overwhelmed me.

Then I started playing it seriously, and I learned several things that made the game easier. After that, I wouldn't say there was no challenge, but I also didn't have a problem finishing the first six palaces.

Then it came time to make the journey to the Great Palace. Holy. Shit. Talk about a steep difficulty curve.

    But I made it.

I may have thirteen more games to go for this run of the series, but as of now, I've finally beaten every game in the Zelda series.

Which means it was time to figure this out:

    FourSwords-1.png

Looks like I'll have to play A Link to the Past via emulator rather than on my DS if I want the save data to link up with Four Swords later on. And since my PSP GBA emulator is reporting that my save data for ALttP is corrupt (even when I delete the save file entirely) and refuses to save (and only for that game, everything else works fine), it looks like A Link to the Past is not going to have a portable option for me this time.

Now that I am done with Bioshock 1 I am on to Bioshock 2, and it was a horrible experience before I even started the game. First there is the need of Windows Live ID to even play the game, and as that installed wrong so the game kept crashing I had to reinstall it.
When that problem was fixed DirectX 10 kept making the game crash. Forcing it to use DX9 got it to work, but I don't have DX10 to see bloggy texture. Now it's set to run as administrator and it runs fine on DX10 now with no crashes. But only time will tell if it's going to last.

Ok now that that rant is over. The game so far is quite good, a bit harder than Bioshock 1 but I like that.

Ya know, you could just get a DS. Just sayin'.

Playing Duke3D (still) as I sort out all the mods I've downloaded for it. Also figured out why Vixens 2 wasn't working properly, but I won't go into details - except to say that fixing the fight with Lara involves copy-pasting some code from the original game since the new battle was bugged up the wazoo.

(Incidentally, has anyone played the 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3D' TC for Duke3D? It's really weird and the cutscenes are full of Engrish, but it's fun and I can't help feeling that the Sonic Adventure games should have played more like this.)

Also still going through Lego Star Wars Complete on the 360. I've unlocked so many different cheats (Perfect Deflect, Explosive Shots, etc) that I am now a walking god. Definitely helps with the grind of replaying the game for what feels like the 100th time just to get some sodding achievements.

I have a DS. How else am I supposed to play Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks when I get there? The issue is that I need my A Link to the Past save file from right now to be compatible with my multiplayer GBA emulator so I can play Four Swords by myself when the time comes.

I've tried playing two games of Four Swords at once. Trust me, you need a second player. The game's hard as and of itself, but the bosses are absolutely impossible. Bribe someone if need be, but get someone else to do it with you, because otherwise it's an absolute nightmare.

I've managed to get through Sea of Trees and Talus Cave in the second quest when I borrowed a friend's copy of A Link to the Past. I think I also managed Death Mountain but didn't get enough rupees for a key. Unfortunately, there's only one person left who I could possibly persuade to play it with me, and it's a long shot. And then I'd still need the A Link to the Past save file for the emulator because I no longer know anybody around here who owns the original GBA cart, besides myself.

And I hear that the DSi/3DS version of Four Swords that came out recently has a new single player mode, but the most upgraded DS model I own is a DS Lite.

Finished A Link to the Past. Next is Link's Awakening.

Edit: May have to play this one via emulation. My cartridge is acting up in all sorts of ways.

Edit x2: I'd rather play the original Link's Awakening DX cartridge, so I decided the best route was to put the cartridge into my Game Boy Player, get it working, and leave it there until I'm done, so I guess I won't have another portable Zelda to play until I hit Oracle of Ages. I swear, this cartridge is more finicky than an NES cartridge.

i got hydrophobia off the PSN for free. It's just alright in my opinion. It has the same type of Adventure gameplay you get from Uncharted or some of the later Tomb Raider games. But the story, although an interesting concept, isn't really as engaging as it could be. The water effects are impressive enough as you see a lot of it. There are plenty of chances for enviromental takes downs such as drowning, explosions, and electricty.

It has all the ingredients for an entertaining game. But the fact is that it's just adverage at best. It short too but after you beat the game they're are challenge rooms that you can take part in.

So overall, a very adverage game but worth a playthrough if you are a PS+ memeber. But I wouldn't say it's worth buying it. And the added Playstion Move controls that they added are not necessary and just down right harder to use.

Gemini Rue. So far, it's...interesting. I just reached the point where I can switch between characters, and I'm not really sure who I should be working on right now.

Just started on Champions Online, and my god there are A LOT of character customisation.
It is so staggering I sat with it for hours trying to make a good looking Super Hero.

I am sure I am going to spent some time with this game, if not only for the character creation. :D

Dead Island, and I'm having a lot of fun despite a few bugs and general control problems. There was this one bug which was very annoying - after going down some stairs into an underground transformer station and switching it on I could only get back up the stairs if I went very slowly, otherwise I would only be able to struggle (and I mean struggle) up to near the top of the stairs where an invisible barrier would push me back down again. But luckily that has only happened that one time and I've not encountered any other bug as annoying.

Also watching a lot of Burn Notice got me in the mood to replay GTA: Vice City, though I can only guess that the reason is the fact that one is set in Miami and the other is based on it. It would have probably made more sense if I got the urge from watching Miami Vice but there you got.

Actually, my will to replay San Andreas is much stronger especially after the GTA V trailer but having it crash every time it got to a certain point in a cut scene very early on (I think it's the 4th one overall, just after the funeral scene and the point where it crashes is when a car explodes) and I've no idea how to get past it, if I can at all (skipping the scene doesn't work either, annoyingly). I dare say I would be nearer to a solution if the Steam forums weren't still down as just about every result of my Google search leads to those forums. So while I wait I'll play Vice City. Which is still fun.

Staring at the character creation screen.

What to name this Argonian? WHAT?

Oh, hey, since I don't have Skyrim, I should play Morrowind or Oblivion.

But I would end up playing for four days and then completely drop it when Assassin's Creed comes out. I think I'll stick with the indie games and Zelda for now.

And Dashing, since Tope isn't on, I'll say it for her. You should name it "Butts".
  • edited November 2011
    No, no, no. Seymour Butz.

Seriously, people, have you not gone through middle school?
  • edited November 2011
I personally like "Butts" because it has the feel that you're not even trying.
  • edited November 2011
No, my standard RPG name "None" has the feeling of not even trying.

This is mainly because the first time I used it, playing Fallout, I didn't actually know that I could change the character's name and so he was named None.
