That'd be a lot more interesting than The Walking Dead. More probabilities to work on, maybe, so that they can offer a true adventure gaming experience this time.
I actually think like BTTF doesn't offer that much of a probability when it comes to the main aspects what makes a true adventure game, especially within the new standarts expected from Telltale, so they went for making a movie instead. I do agree with Rather Dashing on his views of BTtFtG but at the same time, I can't really blame Telltale. And if they go for The Walking Dead, I believe it'll go for worse.

Maybe they will announce something totally independent that is of their own creation? Would be interesting!
I hope! I love Back to the Future but I really don't care for Jurassic Park. I can't find The Walking Dead on TV so I haven't seen it yet. something with no prerequisite would be nice.
Everyone is wrong. Obviously, Telltale is poised to revolutionize the text adventure genre by releasing a new text adventure Hitch-hiker's Guide. I predict them buying the rights to the entire Infocom catalogue in the following weeks.
So your statement that there is less to work with is based on absolutely nothing.
I would like to be proven false by examples, please. I don't need to follow the entire franchise to be able to dislike it or have vague points that I assumed they applied to the franchise generally. Also, I don't count the TV miniseries as "nothing". But it's true I did not READ any material related to the franchise.
I've been counting down the days until the 17th in anticipation.
My predictions are...
Full Season of At the Inventory
Full Season of Puzzle Agent
Monkey Island Season 2
Walking Dead
New Game Pilot
This better be it, but take out Pilot with Strong Bad.
I love pilots too, but I want more Homestar, Im sure I have barely hit strong bad's lines in Poker Night, but that is not enough.

IIRC, A Telltale Staff member said a second season of Strong Bad wasn't in the works. (This was before I had signed up)
1. Zork
2. Space Quest
3. Remake of Legend of Zelda: Wand Of Gamelon
And a serious suggestion:
4. Star Trek
I think Telltale could make a great game with pretty much any iteration of the Star Trek franchise: TOS, TOS Movie-era, TNG, TNG Movie-era, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, or Star Trek J.J. Abrams style. Actually, what might be cool is if they did a series that sort of spanned a number of years within the Star Trek continuity. So, like, the first episode could take place during Christopher Pike's command of the Enterprise, the second in the TOS era, the third sometime after Star Trek the Motion Picture, and the last two episodes between Star Trek V and VI. Just an idea.
Also, if they did a Hitchhiker's Guide game, they wouldn't necessarily have to use any actors (or sound-alikes of actors) from the movie. Most of the main cast from the original radio series and TV series are still alive and kicking, and of those that aren't, many of them were recast for the Tertiary-Quintessential phases of the radio series. Mind you, they'd still have to get someone else to be the voice of the Guide, as both Peter Jones (who was the original voice of the Guide) and William Franklyn (who took over for the Tertiary-Quintessential phases) have passed away.
Actually, not to toot my own horn, but in all modesty I think I do a fairly credible Peter Jones impression.

If you don't mind me stepping in, but constantly complaining about how you hope Telltale won't develop a series into a game because it would supposedly never work without any general idea of what the series is like sounds kind of stupid.
Furthermore, wanting other people to disprove the point you have yet to back up sounds even stupider.
I forgot all about Gromit! and The Grand Adventures game play could work with just Gromit if it wanted to have Wallace a NPC like Max(till Devils Playhouse).

It will be a blog post (Note to Alan: ermmm... would you prepare this in advance??). Also, one of the main reasons a press conference is held is that the press is supposed to spread the news on their own. So whoever is fastest wins our heart.
Well, I'd hope Telltale would set up their Twitter to make updates every few minutes during the conference thing. It should actually be pretty short, 5 announcements at like 5 minutes each plus a trailer for Jurassic Park and probably BTTF Episode 2.
Hate to burst your bubble be we probably will not find out until people who were invited start posting up articles in magazines or websites.... SOOOO we will probably not hear anything that day.... THEN after those things are posted they might link them in the blog here.

You DARE suggest this?! YOU MUST DIE!
I would think about cutting off one of my toes with a spoon to thank the video game gods if some one ever made a "point and click" Zelda game.
Wouldnt it be hard to have an adventure game with a mute?
In other words, yes.
The anticipation is driving me insane. Good to see that in here, I do not seem to be alone.
Think of it this way, we're all going to be waiting for the same amount of time, but you guys get to spend more of it sleeping than we do.
My god man. I think you have actually hit on a foolproof way to make Navi less annoying. Get Nintendo on the phone, stat!
I'm gonna stay awake all night and wait for them to be announced!
...
oh hi Mark
Will there be a live stream or something, or should we just wait patiently for a blog post?
Telltale's blog;)
