There's a thread about this press event on the Jurassic Park board, and it looks like there's indeed going to be a press embargo. Apparently it'll be short, though.
Ah, the suspense never ends. At least I'll have Get Tannen to hold me over while I wait.
If you reveal your upcoming projects one by one in a silly teaser campaign, I will find you.
A silly teaser campaign that reveals the game names one by one, but doesn't present any actual information, not even concept art, because nothing is done at the time. Yeah, that sounds like TTG's marketing all right.

You forgot to add a tie-in with Gametrailers TV and that asshole who runs the VGAs.
We need an adventure game based on a popular franchise, but one in which some guy can combine seemingly random objects in his environment to trick the bad guys without it seeming entirely out of place...
The plan is you'll get to find out what one of the announcements is this evening (Pacific Time) at IGN. The rest of the announcements will come in the following day(s) since there are embargoes on the information from the event.
Alan, how do you ensure there is no leaks of the announcements once the press is aware? A stray tweet, for example...
Great question. In my experience it's actually a bit of professional courtesy combined with the fact that breaking an embargo could potentially get you removed from a company's review code lists, future press event invitations, coverage requests, etc. That's pretty standard across the board in the games industry.

Sorry for the nosy questions, but I think I should ask this: Will the information we get tonight be an announcement of a whole new game, or just the new Jurassic Park info? (Since that seems to be the main piece of this event.)

I'd be willing to bet that if it's not Jurassic Park, we'll be getting news about the Walking Dead(/whatever it actually is) game today.
I share many of the misgivings and disappointments expressed in this thread (and elsewhere) in terms of what Telltale's games have become as games, but I still admire them a good deal from a storytelling perspective. I'm very curious to see what Telltale have up their sleeve in the coming days (and, being the perennial optimist I am about these things for reasons that don't always translate to RL, continue to hope there's an upswing in the offing ... ).
Oh, and my current predictions are along the lines of: start off with the "least exciting" announcements and build up day-to-day from there. Such daring and shockingly specific prognostications, I know.

Yeah. It's not an iron-clad guarantee -- nothing is, of course -- but it's still better than the honors system. At least there's potential consequences for not holding up your end of the deal.
And hey, if something does leak, maybe we'll get lucky and it'll be like what happened when Alexandra Boyd blogged about ToMI well before the official announcement: the source will be sufficiently obscure as to be ignored.
Hello, I'm posting from approximately 9 hours into the future, and there still haven't been any announcement. So I'm sorry folks, it was all just a lie.
While nothing's official, I'd honestly be more surprised if it isn't The Walking Dead.
The only other recent TV shows based off comics I can think of are Human Target (which isn't exactly "changing life") and the new Young Justice and Avengers cartoons (and even if a superhero game could fit Telltale's style, I think the DC and Marvel licenses are quite a bit out of Telltale's league right now).

Human Target is more likely to becancelled then renewed, which'd be a mess for the video game.
Whereas The Walking Dead is already renewed, so it's leagues more likely.

Yeah, more like 30 hours from the moment of posting.
Again, don't expect any info as there's a high chance an embargo is on most things at the event.
Clearly, you missed the Zelda reference.

So only one week? Two?
Edit: One of their posts says the info will be revealed in "the days following the events."
hehe. Well played sir.
Dear Telltale Games,

Ramune sours...mmmmm...that's all I'm saying.

Fix'd. We'll find out who won this bet soon enough, Icedhope.

You'll just have to wait and see.
All right, then. Thanks for getting back to me.
(P.S.: I'm going to start Get Tannen this evening. Wish I could start sooner, though. Looking forward to it!)
