Plenty of games on sale. Too many really! Just checked out my wishlist to see which of the games I want are on sale and the answer is most of them. Might make a rule and only go for the offers of 75% off or better. Which just leaves Mass Effect 2 at £4.99. Can't really say no to that...

I can, since they didn't convert the price at all. Always annoys me when they do that - enough to not buy it.

I wouldn't Secret Santa until the holiday sale either.

Word of Advice: If what you want isn't a daily deal, wait out the sale to make sure it doesn't become one for one of the days.

Here's hoping we'll see some more Telltale games on sale. I still need to pick up Puzzle Agent 2 and the Hector games. My backlog is too big already, but I won't see no to a good deal.
  • edited November 2011
Hector and Puzzle Agent 2 are 33% off right now.

    THIS:

    Portal 2 - £6.79 / $10.19
    Portal 2 Twin-Pack (one for you, one giftable) - £11.89 / $18.69

makes me a bit of a sad panda. TEN DOLLARS for Portal 2? WHUT.

I paid $25 a couple weeks after release, you know.

This is a Valve game. I more or less expected this.

For you who haven't gotten Orcs Must Die! now is a perfect time to get it.
    Do it, do it now!

    :)

I'm going to watch to see if LIMBO goes up as a daily deal. At either that point or on Monday, I think I'm also going to pick up Eversion.
  • edited November 2011
I picked up a fair few games (as anyone I've friended on Steam will know!) while they were cheap. If they go any cheaper, I will not be best pleased!

Oh, and it turned out I already had Mass Effect 2. See, I've so many games I literally don't know what half of it is. These sales are bad for me, man. They're bad!

Quick question: how many games do you have on Steam? Just curious to see if anyone's got more than my 408. Check the Gameplay Stats section of your Steam profile if you don't feel like counting them by hand.
  • edited November 2011
    358

and you wouldn't believe how many of them I actually played.
  • edited November 2011
I've seen your games list. You barely have an hour on most of them.

    ...still better than me, mind.

    http://www.steamcalculator.com

Up to 379 games here with a value of $4708.22. I've played maybe a quarter of them.

But I'll definitely get around to playing Faerie Solitaire some day. Definitely don't regret spending money on something called Faerie Solitaire.

You guys make my 318 look modest.

I really need to cut down on buying games. I'm buying more than I have the time to play.

The manliest man I have ever known. As for me, 76 games. Granted, being a Mac user severely limits the max number I can have.

The total of games there is probably inaccurate. Steam says I have over 400, but that site says 285. Hmm.

Oh right, Onlive are doing a deal where new members can buy their first game for £1 or $1. The deal includes recent releases such as Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Arkham City, and Saints Row The Third. Well worth a try if you have a good enough net. The picture quality isn't amazing, but it's far from unplayable, and for one quid, you can't go wrong really.

Hasn't started yet, but when it does http://www.onlive.co.uk/go/fragfeast/http://www.onlive.com/go/fragfeast will be updated.

(I didn't know where to put this, so I figured here would be fine?)
  • edited November 2011
    Yeah, here's fine.

Anyone else tried OnLive? I would, but my connection would never be able to keep up, especially with all the Mexican Donkey Porn I download in the background.

    ...what?
  • edited November 2011
    Yeah, here's fine.

Why do the donkeys have to be Mexican?

Well I had a lot of them before steam started recording playtime permanently. But yeah a lot of them deserve more playtime and some just don't run on my current PC or were only bought because my old CDs were getting heavily scratched.
  • edited November 2011
I tried it with my 400kb/s connection and it played fine which surprised me. Really wasn't expecting it to. The only downside is bandwidth, it eats it like candy. If you have a limit, don't bother.

Yeah, it's the same with mine, says 216 instead of 318. I think it's because certain games have been removed over time from the store, and so the site can't match them up with the price. If you swap between US/EU/UK currencies you can see that at work. US says 218, UK says 216. I know for a fact one of those missing games is Saints Row The Third, which isn't available on the UK store.

That game is great and addicting. I played it 7 hours straight until my eyes started bleeding.

Onlive is amazing technology if you have a decent connection for it. I've had issues with it on DSL, but with a solid cable or FIOS connection, it's pretty impressive.
  • edited November 2011
I only have 212 Steam titles.
But if you add my GOGs and my Gamersgate titles, then that exceeds about 450 PC games! XD
  • edited November 2011
That onlive offer has now officially started.

...note that for Two Worlds II, the price on the front page is £8.49 / $19.99, but this price is never mentioned on the actual game pages. I suspect it's meant to be for a bundle deal that hasn't been put together, but I don't really know. It's pretty misleading though.

Caved and bought the entire Fallout: New Vegas series for £12.28. Shame there's no package deal for the lot, would have been much neater. Oh well.

There will be a GOTY next year and I am waiting for that one. Also I would have really liked to see the Fallout 3 GOTY go on sale.

I am now officially more broke than MC Hammer broke. I thought I couldn't get more broke than MC Hammer broke, but Fallout: New Vegas set me back about €16.

Also doesn't help that I spent $5 on the Humble Bundle and Indie Royale pre-order.

It won't be called GOTY, probably the Complete or Deluxe edition. But yeah, point made.

And I suspect the Fallout 3 GOTY version will be on sale later in the week. Patience...

    Patience...

Oh believe me I will not buy the german version of this (which is, again, forced for me on Steam). I have someone to trade it already though.
  • edited November 2011
I know the German version is different, but what exactly are the differences?
  • edited November 2011
No blood, no limbs (on humans and animals), no headshots, guess what bloody mess does! Nothing but 5% more damage ... Oh and Steam says:

Gewaltgemindert: Gewaltgeminderte Version - nur auf Deutsch verfügbar (Low violence version only available in German language)

and that's the true dealbreaker for me. I don't want to play the German language version. I want the English one.

Curious if I should get the courior's stash.

I have $.50 in my steam wallet from the halloween sale, so I could get this for "free", but what new weapons are added at the begining? I see some that are already there, and won't get it if its just giving you the stuff early.
  • edited November 2011
It's stuff that you got when you pre-ordered the game. I don't believe they appear in the game normally, so it's probably worth the 50c if you want the stuff. Since, y'know, it's 50 cents.
  • edited November 2011
I snagged it with Lonesome Road and the Arsenal today, breaking a three-month streak of not purchasing items from the Steam store(this excludes bundles with steam keys, all of which I've bought).

It wouldn't hurt. Its that or a crappy TF2 item. Or 50 cents off of another game I guess.
EDIT:Got it. I had 52 cents and the DLC was 49 cents, so I have 3 cents left. I take it there is nothing on steam that is that price.

No but you can discount the price you still have to pay for any item by 3 cents now.
