You'll enjoy that one. Trust us.

Beeeeeeeeeeh, ended up with both Fallout: New Vegas AND its DLC AND The Sims 3: Ambitions in the entire sale period.

Also, worth mentioning, I almost wrote New Vegan.

In case it missed you, the Autumn Sale is now over, so I hope you got all your bargains! Shouldn't be long before the Christmas one comes along to clean out your wallet all over again.

Doesn't look like there's a daily deal today. Doesn't surprise me, really.
  • edited November 2011
    I lied!

Today's Daily Deal is Silent Hill: Homecoming. £4.49 / $9.99.

God, it feels so good only having to do one game a day again.

Today's Daily Deal is Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition. £6 / $8.

This week's Midweek Madness is Sniper: Ghost Warrior. £10.19 / $10.19 (stellar conversion there)
  • edited November 2011
Kind of boring my purchase list:

Divinity 2 - Dragon Knight Saga

That is enough to make the list look very insteresting all by it self. :)
  • edited November 2011
Today's Daily Deal is Bully: Scholarship Edition. £2.49 / $3.74. It's not the best conversion, but it's still a good game, so take that as you will.

Also, it's not on offer, but there's another expansion for Magicka out. 'The Stars Are Left' is basically like the previous Vietnam expansion, only it's now to do with the Cthulhu mythos. I don't know why.
  • edited November 2011
Yes, the Midweek Madness is indeed The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. The standard GotY edition [...] but as der_ketzer says, you don't want that version.

No, you want the GotY Deluxe Edition, with the super special horse armour! And other DLC that's not available on the Steam version otherwise.
    Chyron8472 wrote: »
Crap. I bought Oblivion previously, and got the standard GOTY Edition.

How am I supposed to get that DLC?
    der_ketzer wrote: »
Overpriced through Bethesda's site or not at all.
Most of the things you miss out on are not really noteworthy but there is the dagger-quest and some nice "homes" for you to put your stuff in if you purchase all stuff for them. Basically something to spend your in-game money on once you are stinkin' rich.
And of course dat horse armor.
    Chyron8472 wrote: »
Well, it's only 6 bucks. I wonder if there is a way for me to buy the Deluxe and have it overwrite the Standard version.

I contacted Steam Support about this, and got the following answer.

    0Zeml.png

So I checked my game DLC:

    KeOyn.png

This would indicated that I do have Deluxe (I don't have Oblivion installed atm so I can't check for the .esp files currently.)

In any case, I don't remember what that field said before I opened my support ticket, so I checked my store purchases. It says that I bought the "Quakecon 2011 Elder Scrolls Pack" which, when googled, produces a link to an article stating that it came with Oblivion GOTY Deluxe.

So it would seem that I now have a giftable copy of Oblivion Deluxe (that I bought during said Midweek Madness just in case) that I don't need.
  • edited November 2011
Huh. According to my store purchases, that's what I bought too. I was thinking I'd bought them (or added them to my cart at least) separately, so I thought I had the regular GOTY edition. Good to know it's Deluxe.
  • edited November 2011
That's odd, I have exactly the same DLC, though I don't remember buying the deluxe edition. How bizarre, yet awesome.

...if anyone else needs to know how to access your Steam Purchases, just click the "<yournamehere>'s Account" bit in the top-right of Steam. You'd think I'd have known that.

Okay, so there's a new competition or something. It's called the Daily Wishlist Giveaway. Basically, if you have 10 items or more in your wishlist, simply visit the page for that day's Daily Deal to be entered into the draw for 10 people to win the top 10 items from their wishlist every day.

So, yeah! All you need to do is visit the Daily Deal's page every day! You don't even have to buy a thing. Woo!

Anyway. Today's Daily Deal is Terraria. £1.50 / $2.50 Go visit the page, dammit! (It's at the top of the front page now, if you're having trouble finding it)
  • edited December 2011
Also Terraria updated today. The list of changes has more words than the bible. Holy hell. And most of it is newly added content.
  • edited December 2011
Damn. I picked up a couple things on my wish list and now I only have 9. And I have a terrible time thinking of things to put on there.

    I edited my post.
And I have a terrible time thinking of things to put on there.

But I did manage to think of something. I realized that Skyrim wasn't on my list. Problem solved.

Oh hey, I forgot the Weekend Deal. It's Brink, which is free-to-play all weekend and priced at £3.74 / $4.99.

...worth noting that as of quarter past six, I cannot access the page for any Dungeon Siege game in the UK. the US pages are up fine, but not the UK ones, for some reason. And I was going to buy the DLC!

as of half 6 it seems fine to me here, having entered for today's daily giveaway thingy.
  • edited December 2011
Thanks for the update. It does indeed work fine now. Guess I just wasn't patient enough. Or Steam wasn't quick enough. Or both. Who cares, I got my DLC, job's a good 'un.
  • edited December 2011
Y'know what? I completely forgot to mention the price for the DLC here! I am officially a moron.

I've updated the earlier post to add in the Treasures of the Sun DLC. Not sure if I should apologise or not, but it was a silly thing to overlook and I do regret it. Sort of. Little bit.

It's also worth noting that Dungeon Siege I + II come with neither expansions nor multiplayer. Take that as you will.

Triple posting? How dare you?! This is the worst offense I've ever witnessed in my life.

Also I don't recommend putting Skyrim on your wishlist. If you should win the contest and recieve Skyrim for free in your Steam library, then you will spend the next 8 years without sunlight and human contact. Not that those things aren't overrated anyway.

Also Borderlands is not a game I would recommend. I frankly don't see why it's such a big deal.
  • edited December 2011
Hey, I enjoyed Borderlands. Until I got to the Mad Moxxi DLC, which is nothing more than a series of incredibly long and boring arena challenges.

I busted my ass off to complete 3 different sets of 5 rounds, each of which had 5 waves (so that's 75 waves in total), only to be told that I then had to do it again with three sets of 20 rounds (360 waves in total). My rage was unparalleled.

Today's Daily Deal is RUSE, an RTS that lets you bluff your enemies and has some of the most pathetic pricing on Steam. Even before it was on offer, the price was exactly the same in Dollars and Pounds (29.99), so we in the UK would end up paying around £11 more for absolutely no reason other than lazy conversion. Hugely insulting.

Anyway, rant over. Here's the list.

    RUSE - £9.99 / $9.99
    RUSE Strategy Guide - £7.99 / $9.99
    RUSE and Strategy Guide bundle - £11.32 / $11.66
    - DLC -
    The Chimera Pack - £1.66 / $2.99
    The Rising of the Sun - £2.33 / $3.33

Hey, guess what? Y'know Orcs? Well Orcs Must Die! Fortunately, that's also the title of today's Daily Deal, so you can show those mythical creatures who's boss at a low, low price.

    Orcs Must Die! - £2.99 / $3.74
    - DLC -
    Artifacts of Power - 49p / 62c
    Lost Treasures - 74p / 99c

Also, this week's Midweek Madness is the King Arthur series, which I can't be bothered to list because there's like a dozen titles and I won't buy them, so meh.

    ...

    ...oh, alright.

    King Arthur - £3.74 / $4.99
    King Arthur: Fallen Champions (Stand-alone expansion) - £1.99 / $2.49
    - DLC -
    Knights and Vassals - 37p / 49c
    Legendary Artifacts - 37p / 49c
    The Druids - £1.99 / $2.49
The Saxons - n/a (This one's a bit weird. You can't buy it on its own, but you can buy it together with the cheaper two bits of DLC as a pack for £1.74 / $2.49. Does that make sense? Ah, whatever.)

    King Arthur Collection (original game + all add-ons) - £8.74 / $9.99

I have Orcs Must Die! on XBox Live Arcade and I very much enjoyed it. Nightmare mode is dominating me though.
  • edited December 2011
Why must Orcs die? Orcs are not evil. In fact, I played an Orc once in pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons. In fact Orcs have good racials in most of the games you can control Orcs.
I'm not buying Orcs Must Die.
  • edited December 2011
I feel similarly about Skyrim. Oh, so you're allowed to kill dragons because they're undead and killing undead is okay? I have a 30th level dracolich necromancer who would like to argue that point.

    JK. Actually, I love Skyrim.

Hey man, it's not like you're going out of your way to hunt down orcs in Orcs Must Die. You're just sitting around minding your own business in your various fortresses and they come smashing through the door trying to kill you. They're asking to get mutilated by various traps and spells if you ask me.
