How can you get through 13 iterations of the Enterprise in 40 years?"
The NCC-1701 series' captains have the tendency to draw a lot of enemy fire, trigger the self destruct mechanism at least three times per Season and the really mean ones show an affliction towards landing their vessel planetside without any chance of recovering it.

It's ridiculous.
That's like suggesting that a starship would answer a distress call on its maiden voyage without medical staff, a tractor beam or torp...no, that actually happened. Or that a single starship would try to go toe to toe against four Romulan Warbir...no that also happened. Or that a starship, on its maiden voyage, would encounter an omnipotent being who condemns the crew and their home planet as savages...wait, was I going somewhere with this?
"Blow up the Enterprise" Tuesday or "Christen a new Enterprise" Tuesday?
Because I think Captain Kirk is dead. Shot in the back before the test viewers protested.
And because this is obviously a completely bogus post and we're off topic anyway, I also propose that during Mission Farpoint Commander Riker should have snafu'd the reattachment of the Enterprise's saucer section, resulting in a big explosion and a dire need for another ship immediately after the pilot. I mean, THAT'S how you kick off a series.
Now make me a script writer, because I can obviously do miles better than those of Gods and Men guys.

nah. No need for a new ship when the explosion causes a temporal causality loop which keeps the events repeating endlessly until Riker can dock the ship properly.
On the coattails of a failed IndieGoGo campaign, I am now the proud owner of the "Greatest Film Of All Time" on DVD. In all it's personalised, signed, doodled glory.
Gah, enough Star Trek. Let's talk about another Old-School RPG, this time from Brenda Brathwaite (Wizardry, Dungeons & Dragons) and Tom Hall (Commander Keen, Doom and Mother-Fucking ANACHRONOX). Oh, and some guy called John Romero. No, I've never heard of him either, but he's got a ponytail, so he must be cool.
...just when I think they can't possibly tempt me with another Kickstarter project, they fucking tempt me with another Kickstarter project. Those sneaky sons of bitches.
All right, I get the answer to question number one: He doesn't have the rights. I've got my injection of the traditional with Grimrock; and that was the last RPG in which I accepted no narrative to speak of. I was a traditional RPG man these 20 years ago, I swear. Dungeon Master, Ambermoon, Bard's Tale, Darkmere, Hero Quest (in as much as that counts), Hired Guns, Robinson's Requiem, I've been there. But a lot of the developments since then were for the better. I am interested in the personal, the psychological of the RPG, not the mathematical.
I'll watch this project closely though. If they confirm that it will be DRM-free and accept PayPal backings as soon as the initial goal is reached, I might back this just for the heck of it.
As of the latest update, Old School RPG will be DRM-Free. Expect to see it on file-sharing sites the day it's released.
No, I do not expect to see it on file-sharing sites the day of release. I expect that it'll be there although I don't even know or want to know where to look.
Kickstarter is opening it's service to those in the UK on October 30th. They'll be allowing projects from companies and individuals in the UK, and UK people will be able to back projects from both US and the UK. And US people will be able to back UK projects through kickstarter too.

Wait wait wait...
This means that I could kickstart something...
(Its a shame though, that I have nothing to kickstart! X'D (and even if I did, then I would have no clue on where to start or what to do))
And I thought people from the UK could already back projects from the US because thats what I've been doing all this time! XD
I downloaded 1.8. Things were going amazingly until I got the "Two Atrises" bug and had no idea how to fix it. One person seemed to have fixed it with an NPC-killing mod, but any links to download that one lead to a dead site.
I honestly don't remember seeing you around here since not long after Tales winded down.
Well, there have been pauses but I was around. For Puzzle Agent, and Hector... not that active though.

You're using Achilles game rebalance mod? I suppose so, since that's the only cause I know. Uninstall, then try again from a save before entering the academy (that time, not all the way back at the start ).

I'm actually only using TSLRCM and a tweak to get the game running at 1920x1080.
Speaking of 1920x1080, the really amazing-looking environment screenshot for Project Eternity is now my new desktop background.
If you've ever seen a really pretty pre-rendered non-gameplay video game trailer, it was probably done by Blur Studios. Now they want to make a feature film called The Goon, and it looks pretty good.
The Kickstarter itself, though, from a rewards perspective? Not so much. No access to anything behind-the-scenes until $25, no physical goods until $75, and absolutely no copies of the film, digital or otherwise, anywhere in the reward line-up. Still, this is a movie I'd like to see made.
They won't ship the t-shirts outside the US. NO DEAL.
Seriously though - the reason there's no copies of the film as a reward is that you're not funding the film. You're funding the PITCH. Or, rather, a feature length story reel (that's what you get when you string together all the storyboards with voices and sound effects to show what the proper film will be like, in case you didn't know).
It looks like an interesting film and if it gets made I'll probably go see it, but there's a lot of 'ifs' in this thing. There's no guarantee that, even with the story reel, it'll get made into a feature film. I hope it does, but...

Well, I never heard of anyone encountering it without that mod. It's cause the files in that mod in override are based on the vanilla fight, and thus mess up what's been majorly changed.
But without any modifications, it should just run as we made it
Here's a promising one if you're into card games and oldschool gaming: Boss Monster. It's like Munchkin in reverse: build your dungeon, lure in foolish adventurers, kill them and take their stuff (souls, mostly).
They've already fully designed the main game (including art) and passed three times their goal in less than a week, so it's as safe a bet as they come.
Sarcasm, one hopes, given that there's a whole thread where the lack of concrete information is discussed.
(I've just watched Elementary, it might be rubbing off on me somewhat)
Stupid me looking in a Kickstarter thread if someone posted about this Kickstarter project instead of searching the rest of the forum. Stupid stupid me. Why does this thread exist again?
It's interesting, and they'll probably hit their target since it's not that high, but it's not for me. I've never been a fan of first-person adventures. Though credit where it's due, their Kickstarter page is full of information and sketches of what it'll look like!

They threw in the postcard too.

No word on Paypal yet, but I guess they'll try and set that up if the project hits its target.

If you like RPG's like Baldur's Gate definitely support

What a 3D King's Quest game should look like.
is now on kickstarter
