I guess I just do not understand why people insist that it is impossible for Carley not to know how to work through her battery problem alone. Why is it impossible? Just because it is common knowledge? I have met plenty of people who have no common sense and even less common knowledge. lol. And they aren't even in the middle of a zombiepocolypse!

Only explanation i can even barely accept,is how much like Duck far too many of the last 2 generations are in real life.....

But even then, you have the inescapable issue that an electronic device has to be powered by something. And even the "duck" like, would eventually get around to looking for a power source for such a device, were it to be not working.....

The first reaction, even from a "duck", would be to look for something "wrong" with the device. The look for "obvious damage" of some sort. And then upon not seeing any damage, nor any power source, and seeing that trap door on the back of the device, looking inside it.

At the very least "Perhaps theres a cord in there ?"Im betting even the "ducks" would think to look for a cord and plug......given a few minutes.

Well, the radio is wireless and battery-powered, and using not 4 AA or even AAA batteries like most radios would be these days if not wired, but 2 C-Cell or D-Cell batteries, some of which are hard to find in a DRUG STORE, and can't go for more without attracting attention from the undead. You'd think Mr. Everett would've kept spare batteries in the drawer with his remote for the TV.

Perhaps, but where would we be without the 'mazing fun of The Wild-n-Wooly Battery Hunt!!

Oh, I dunno, where WOULD we be? Surely some convenience store? Or, perhaps, the most unlikely place ever: the library! :D

or bleeding on a street corner from a supprise zombie attack with the sound of more zombies heading towards you ?

or the only store that has any was locked and any attempt to gain entry would alert the walkers...

Or perhaps Carly is hiding another pair of batteries in her undergarments? ;) I mean, women DO have more hiding places than men~

So she wanted doug to try and find them
  • edited May 2012
more like she didn't want doug to find them so he could be the 'real thing'....

but i find it odd she tells lee she fancies doug in that moms basement kinda way but when the door is being attacked she doesn't actually admit it to him?

then lee has to tell the survivor whats what.... which is strange but imo quite true/plausable !

Oh my gosh, you did it! You delivered a very nice explanation that even fits the topic. :)

So ... you think maybe Carley will take revenge on everybody? Or will she accept that the others spoiled her plan?

I don't see her looking for some payback. Besides, Lee is the one who is really at fault but he's too helpful and his "daughter" is just too cute.

Why is it so hard to believe someone might make a mistake or not know about the specific batteries that radio would need? What, just because she is a radio reporter? Do you guys KNOW any radio reporters? I do. Many of them, especially in big cities, do not touch equipment beyond the mic they speak into. Equipment is all handled by the tech guys. The reporter writes, reads, and speaks into a microphone. That's all. It doesn't matter that there are other things in her home that have batteries. Those other things are not that radio. They are different and can be confusing. She is confused and a mess because of the situation they are all in. Some people can be so unforgiving. Sheesh. Carley is nothing more than a radio personality. Next thing I know, you guys will be telling me that someone who acts on television should know about television cameras.

Edit: I am not saying all radio reporters are too stupid to know how to replace the batteries in a radio. What I am saying is that it is not impossible that Carley would have a difficult time with it.

By the way, Kiel555, I really liked your explanation! Love the imagination on that one! :D

    Thanks!

Do you want to give a gun to someone like that? She might forget which end to point at the bad guy. In reality I wouldn't. Do you remember the scene in the tv show, where the blonde lady almost kills the motor cycle guy with a rifle bullet?

Not a great comparison. Daryl was a long ways away and moving like a walker. Even if Andrea knew that it was Daryl, she had no way of knowing that he wasn't a walker. In this universe, it's better to be safe. Daryl's just lucky she only winged him. The fact that Carley can't figure out a radio worries me. Hence why I saved Doug.

Didn't they tell her that she is not supposed to have a gun and especially not to shoot because it would attract more walkers?

Be it as it may, I consider both of them as a risk.

True, that child is just annoying. I really hope that they kill him off in the next episode. I really don't want any "funny" duck scenes in the game:

"Do you remember, when Duck was followed by walkers, climbed up a tree and couldn't come down anymore? He started talking to the walkers and there came more and more to listen to his stories about lasers and robots. What fun it was to lose Carley in a rescue mission .. hahaha" :(

Well Dealing with a zombie apocalypse is all about having your nerves worn down to the bone from stress hunger zombies and duck sure fits the stress category. But he's a necessary commodity. After all the adults die it'll end with Duck and Clementine discovering Little Lamplight.

Do you really want Duck to create little Ducks? Then humanity might be lost for certain. ;)

Carley is a single woman in her 20's.
    Hello?
Of course she knows how to put the batteries in, she just want to find out if YOU are a handyman.
Or did everyone of you fall for that battery trick she pulled?

If she is single and in her twenties she should of had plenty of practice of ptting batteries in her little 'friend'

I kinda just figured TellTale wanted to add some humor and was hard pressed to do so what with you know...trying to decide who lives and dies and you know...vicious zombies trying to bite your head off. I chalk it up to her just being really stressed out about the creepy nerd staring at her in between his zombie love sessions. I totally don't think they would have worked out, btw. :D

    Doh.
I cant believe so many people fall for the "dont know how to put batteries in the radio" thing. She is just checking if Lee is somewhat handy.

She knows when the batteries fit in and when not. ;) :D

She knows who Lee is, so I found the batteries and let her die.

Does anyone know if I get to keep the batteries, or do they go away? Because I feel like I could use them for clem's walkie talkie
