Very interesting, isn't there anyone out there who simply did NOTHING in the "kill Larry" scene?
I somewhat felt the urge to see what would happen when those two "best friends" can't rely on my choice.
Surprisingly both seemed not really offended by not helping in the later game, although Kenny didn't helped in the scene where this cannibal guy pointed the gun at Lee in the barn but Lilly did.
Not like I don't like to interfere but this was extremely tough, morally spoken.
So... anyone else out there who was playing the "Swiss" role?

I was all up to the Larry scene, there I was not going to sit there and let someone die if I could do something about it!
So far I've been impressed by most things, but the "choices matter" thing that TTG promised doesn't seem to have held up. The only major decision that mattered was Carley/Doug, and they don't even have a major role in EP2. It also irked me how a number of characters (Shawn, Travis, David, Mark, Larry, Brenda) died regardless of what you had done.

This is why I want them to have a bigger role in the coming episodes. I want Doug/Carley to become Lee's right-hand person.
I feel I need to put in writing how I feel about The Walking Dead, so I thought I'd do it. Hopefully some of the TTG guys will read it, but if not, I'm not bothered. Jake, you have to read it though!
Anyway, I've been a massive fan of LucasArts adventure games since I was a kid, playing SoMI on my Dad's Atari ST from a very young age. I've always liked adventure games and as I've got older, I've gone out of my way to discover newer, or more obscure titles, most of which I've thoroughly enjoyed.
When Sam & Max: Freelance Police was cancelled, I thought the genre was officially dead and I never thought I'd hear from it again.
When I was at uni, I was hammering away at ScummVM compatible titles and Counter Strike on Steam. My housemate casually mentioned he'd read an article about a new company working on a new Sam & Max game. I greeted this with scepticism. I doubted any company besides LucasArts could pull off a S&M game, but looked into it either way.
Having done a bit of research, I discovered Bone and bought them, enjoyed them, but it wasn't quite the same. I bought S&M:S1 at retail when it came out and really enjoyed it, but was confused by this episodic model. It wasn't really my style and I was unsure of how it would work. Gametap put me off, but while they were still being released at retail I was content. I ignored the "episodic model" and just pretended it was different chapters of one game.
Over the years, since then, I have grown to become rather fond of TTG. In 2009 I took the leap and started getting into downloadable games, on Steam, XBLA, Wii's online shop and of course, TTG's webstore. I fully embraced episodic gaming, I think it's perfect for my busy lifestyle. I have not looked back since. I now wonder how I ever had time to complete "full" games!
I thought Tales of Monkey Island would be TTG's best ever work, I thought it would be downhill from there, but supported my new favourite developer continuously. Buying multiple copies of games, across different platforms I really wanted to make an impact, however small, on sales figures.
When The Walking Dead was announced, I thought it was going to be crap, I'll be honest. A third person "quick-time-'em-up" licenced based cash in, but whatever, I thought I'll get it anyway, maybe start reading some comics, see what the deal is (completely avoiding the tv series until after the game was out) - and I fell in love. The comics were brilliant, I'm now an avid reader.
By this point I was hoping the video game wouldn't ruin what the comic had built up in the first place. Oh how silly I was for ever worrying!
The Walking Dead: The Video Game is one of the most enjoyable form of entertainment I've ever been fortunate enough to experience. I'm not exaggerating, I genuinely think it's pure genius. Never before have I got "that" into a game, maybe except with Baldur's Gate II. The game has been beautifully rendered, the art style does true justice to the comics - and the writing is perfect. I've found myself pausing the game, thinking "Oh God, what do I do??", I've worried about the characters, I've taken leaps of faith with certain decisions and my heart's raced through portions of the game, so far.
I think this is definitely TTG's finest work to date, I am very pleased a season 2 is being talked about.
I read on here some people saying a second season won't be the same without Lee. Guys, you've had two fifths of the game and already you're so attached to this unique character! A second season I'm sure will be just as good, if not better. It will have the same writers, so you'll be just as attached, I would have thought, with or without Lee. Think about it! You assume a new protagonist won't be as good as Lee, but Lee is an original TTG character, he was not in the comics as far as I know, surely a new protagonist won't be incompatible to Lee? These writers are professionals and these two episodes to date have confirmed this.
I also see snide remarks about TTG's release schedule. Whether you've paid for a full season or not, does it really matter if it's three weeks later than you assumed it would be? I saw one bitchy comment regarding the second season, stating sarcastically the gamer would be at retirement age by the time S2 is released. Big deal, I have found myself to be a very loyal customer to TTG, and have found them to be very fair. Preordering The Devil's Playhouse and TWD landed me a free copy of the game on Steam, I can't complain at that! And each game I get I've generally ended up getting a free "disc" edition from TTG's store, along with loads of top quality merchandise. Everyone fucks up every now and then, we're all human, and gaming companies are no different. You guys need to stop whining and chill out a bit! TTG are the only dev out there that I know of that reward loyal customers, admit when they've made a mistake, and offer compensation at their own expense to keep us happy. Good luck getting a freebie off EA!
If anyone from TTG reads this, thank you so much for doing this game! I really cannot thank you enough, this game is a fantastic experience and worth a lot more than I paid for it! Please don't slow down!
First of all, Telltale, congratulations on the game, I loved episode 2.
I just wanted to react to the people who are disappointed that there choices don't always have a huge impact on the further progress of the game.
For example I read a few pages ago that some guy thought that the whole incident at the dinner table could have been totally different, dependent on his previous choices.
You need to stay realistic. If we would assume that in each episode an important decision could be made that would change the future outcome, then after 5 episodes you would have 16 different endings. Thus each next episode would have to contain more and more data and it would take much longer to make.
Instead of doing this, Telltale has wisely chosen to let your decisions have an impact on the relationships with the characters, but not the total outcome of the game.

Cool didn’t know that but I noticed another situation where if you don’t do anything someone else steps in. In episode 1 at the drug store when a walker jumps Clem from the bathroom and Lee runs to save her and falls, if you don’t do anything after you fall Carly will shot the walker. And later when you talk with Lily she will comfort you because you froze and didn’t help Clem, and tell you to not worry about it it’s okay to be scared….. or something like that
Btw have anyone let Clem eat the human meat? I wanted to do it in my second playthrough but just couldn’t do it to the poor girl

If you let Clem eat the meat, she asks you if she will turn into a zombie. Lee explains that's not how it works.
I am absolutely amazed at how fantastic the second episode was. Definitely worth the wait in between episodes. The plot twist in this episode was one of the most awesome and well executed ideas I've seen in a game in a long, long time! By all means, take your time on the third episode! I'm loving this more than any experience I've had with adventure gaming in years!
The reason why Mark isn't a 'developed' character is because the game wants you to make a decision.....A or B. If you truly care about Mark, then it doesn't become a decision any longer...I mean not only are these people Cannibals, but they have to keep the victim alive in order to harvest the meat. So if the victim was one of the original Motel group, vengeance would be at the forefront of most decisions. Even if the victim was the supreme dick, Larry.
Also keep in mind, that maybe, just maybe, the St. Johns inhabit that grey area where what they are doing is a matter of survival. But that only works when one of the victims is a stranger who was wounded, but not by the St. John's themselves.
If anyone recognizes one of the guys who lets plays this, it is yahtzee from zero punctuation himself. He is mainly known for flat out demolishing just about every game ever. Why I'm posting his lets play of a crappy game is there is a plot twist where the bad guys are chopping up people or something and then Yahtzee says "Oh god, I just beat Walking Dead!" and mentions that he is writing a review, more specifcally "lets talk about games vastly more interesting than this" along with "Lets talk about a game fun and enjoyable!" in the context of Walking Dead.
Congratulations telltale, you made a game yahtzee himself enjoys. That is an accompolishment!
She was part of "the bandits" which were just people like Lee's group that was trading with the brothers. The brothers lied to them took her daughter and ate her. The woman found Lee's group and wanted to take her away from them afraid she will be taken by the brothers and eaten as well
it said they were on a school trip, a girl took sleeping pills and died and became a zombie I assume they got the hell out of there and ran into the woods trying to escape
was more intense then the first. I had a strange feeling about that farm. That too good to be true. I noticed little signs about the brothers that made me not trust them. Such as the bandit camp. When he asked me if the camera worked. I said no batteries. He replied good. Why would he not want the camera to work? Also he killed the woman before she could answer my question. Once I opened the barn door, I knew we were screwed. I hate and love the parts where you have to choose who to save, because it makes it more dramatic. You can't save everyone you love in the walking dead . I am playing through all 5 then I will redo it how I would want it to turn out. I love how you have to respond within seconds to make a decision because you go with your guy. I think this style of game play is great
There is something wrong I noticed in this episode, that happends in every single movie I ever seen: We see the ligthining at the same time that we hear the thunder... Awesome effect, bad physics
Just finished Episode 2 (PS3) and I've got to say it was worth the wait......totally brilliant.
I wont say too much just in case there are some that haven't played it yet (and I don't know how to do those block boxes with the words in them to hide spoilers) but, when I was sneaking about upstairs when everyone was eating supper my heart was seriously pumping!!!!
Awesome game, really can't wait for the next episode.......however long that may be

spoilers can be hidden by putting brackets [] around "spoiler" and then closing with brackets around "/spoiler". If you end up with it hidden like
this
you did it right.
How about that episode though? Pretty exhausting ordeal, huh?

If it's really close, it's a possibility. Lots of movies do it also in dramatic scenes.

Yeah it was amazing. After seeing in the barn, I had a suspicion of what was going on, that's what made going upstairs and seeing a secret room make my heart was serious thumping hard! The game totally sucked me in.
Is it possible to stop supper? Also, how does the game change if you did agree to
Best thing he said was at the end: "I’m not sure they’re making a game you can win. At best, we’ll can have a say in how we lose, and what’s left of our good intentions when we do."
Any one else feel kinda bad at the end of the episode when
I think it was Andy who said "wait until danny and mama get out of this" or something along those lines and Lee responds (depending on your choice) "they're dead". That part made me feel kinda sad
I was really surprised to see at the end of my playthrough that only 17% of players killed both brothers. Those boys may have been deranged but it's not hard to see they are calculating people, for better or worse.
So what if Clementine saw you kill people? You can't let her feeling bad about it hold you back when you're neutralizing a threat. It is perfectly logical to kill someone who was trying to kill you.
It's a linear game where you tell girls if you like them or not. You can't die, get stuck or not end up in a sex scene. Substitute "girl" with "zombie" and "sex" with "Clem is gonna get eaten in episode 5".
Comments
And this time, make sure the game comes out for all countries the same time
Eh. I wasn't too grossed out by the violence, although chopping off the teacher's leg was pretty unsettling.
I was mainly unsettled by the chopping off the legs and the people eating thing lol
Yeah. The theme of cannibalism was strong in the episode. I had to take a few minutes break after the intensity of the dinner scene.
You try to revive Larry and Kenny bashes his head in anyway
Did anyone else notice when they hack off the leg, the bloody meaty stump quivers? Ugh, so wrong!

What puzzles? Back to the Future had more puzzles than this eroge.
i had to look up the word "eroge" because i didn't know what it meant, now i'm glad i didn't know
