They had all got a message...The notfication for the message was different from the normal test or missed call. Desmond quickly looks and sees it was an Amber Alert. "Special emergency alert from CDC and Anderston Police Force. Stay in your homes and lock them, multiple gun shots have been heard and riots erupt downtown. Do not attempt to travel downtown or out of the city, further news will come later or on the news at a special 8:00 time."

Desmond whispered that quietly but he realized this was serious and he needed to tell his friends. He ran into the livingroom quickly turning on the lights, locking the door, closing the curtains, and turning of the movie.

Desmond without saying a word changes the channel to Anderston News Broadcast Channel 6. On the tv they saw people in the studio worried and ready to report.
Nick- Is this a joke?
Reporter- Reports of the Crier Disease has sprung up multiple times in our city over the last few weeks but little was done. The patients were put in Quarantine and soon escorted out of Anderston. However more cases have sprung up and attacks have been reported downtown. First it was gunshots and murders eruptting in a short time but now there are riots...With the infected and non-infected fighting in the streets. Police are working to contain the riots but all we are getting are cases of more infections and killings. We now report now to Katherine reporting downtown.
The screen turns to a female reporter named Katherine as the screen said. The woman was wearing a normal outfit with a nice jacket casually thrown on as if no one expected to be reporting tonight. She had pretty pale skin and hair to her shoulders and light blue eyes. The view behind her was horrible, she was in one of the areas hit by the riots but the area was quiet other than the sounds of gushots and screams in the background. Bodies were around the area and police were guarding.
Katherine- We are in a terrible situation out here. The riots in this area have passed but we are still in danger. While they have passed they are circling back around. What we can report however is people killing each other by any means and everyone trying to get away. No one is safe...No kid, teen, man, woman, elderly.
You could see the police in the back start shooting. However through the fire and smoke in the back you couldn't see what. You can then see an officer in full body armor be forced onto the floor and have his throat ripped out. The officers weren't fighting with pistols but with fully automatic assualt rifles.
Jack- The police state would kill us they said, more like save us.
Jonas- Shut up.
Katherine the reporter then starts to freak out and the camera crew and her jump in to the van.
Katherine- They're coming, we need to get out.
The screen then cut to static. Then returned to the normal news station.
Reporter- Shit, are they alright?...Anyway, everyone stay where you are weither it be a home, place of bussiness or anywhere just as long as it's protected. Good night and stay safe.
The station went blank. Everyone in the house freaked out.
Desmond- My parents are downtown...
Amber- My sister went to the movies with her friends...
Jonas- My sister is at home with my mom.
Jack- Shit...My family is home...In our really torn up home.
Nick-We need to stay here.
Amber- No we need to save my sister.
Jonas- We also need to get my mom and sister here safely.
Desmond- Everyone calm down.
Amber- NO, we NEED to do something.

I feel like if they leave they'll split up and it's really dangerous anyhow. If their families are smart they'll barricade their houses, and fortify it. Leaving will get somebody killed. But knowing the situation, their families don't have much of a chance, so our characters will have to live knowing they had a chance to save them. This adds even more to the emotional stress rather then having an early physical barrier/obstacle. Just a prediction though, plus I don't want this main group to put themselves at risk, although staying at the house altogether could be risky, but less risky then going outside.
